Located in the "Estate" section of Pine Mountain Club, this special "true log" home is perfect for a romantic get-a-way or creative renewal retreat. It has been a wonderful center for writers who need inspiration in their work. This two story log cabin has three comfortable bedrooms with two full baths. Log Haven is tucked away in tall pines within walking distance to the village and clubhouse. Once you park your car you never have to drive anywhere during your stay.
Relax on the front porch and gaze at the breathtaking views of the mountains. The back porch has spectacular views of the lower lake, golf course and greenbelt which is a wildlife sanctuary. In the evenings, snuggle on the couch in front of the fireplace and hear music on a Bose surround sound stereo with music supplied by a CD library. Cook gournet meals in a fully stocked kitchen. Take hikes to spiritually inspiring places we have listed in our caringly put together information book. Take a break from your computer, TV and cell phones. Take the time to listen to your inner knowing. Let the mountains heal you. Take a deep breath, gaze at the stars and feel rejuvenated!!

$500 deposit for damages. Refundable if no damage.

Year Purchased: 1996
I am a portrait photographer with a home studio in Los Angeles. My husband works with me and is also a jazz singer in a legendary big band group, The Modernaires. A few times a year he plays and sings at the Pine Mountain Clubhouse.
I have facilitated women's retreats in our log home for eight years. Starting next summer I will schedule a five day women's photography retreat. Pine Mountain is a perfect retreat spot for those who want to get away and recreate and refresh their creativity.
I love to hike and Joe loves golf. Of course, I call golf "a good hike gone bad". He loves it and I am happy for that.
Why the Owner Chose Pine Mountain Club
After creating my first photography book, I was pretty burned out. It took five years in the making. So we went to visit friends in Pine Mountain. After the third visit they said, "So when are you buying a place here?" We looked at each other and thought, "Why not?" That was almost 13 years ago. We spend as many weekends as we can in Pine Mountain in our beloved Log Haven. This home is so special to us. When I firt walked in the door I vowed that it would be a healing retreat for all who entered.
Indeed, it is!
The Unique Benefits of this House
Log Haven is our home. We have put love, creativity and joy into this cabin. Because it is made from logs, it feels like a living breathing being. I always feel like it wraps it's arms around me when I am there. In the summer, I sit on my front porch and sip my tea in the morning and gaze at the meadow in front of us and the beauty of the mountains. It's like a wild kingdom in front of our cabin as we see rabbits scampering, squirrels chasing each other up and down the trees and quail herds racing by with their little ones tagging behind. We have a beautiful hawk that frequents our area and a scrub jay we call Scruffy that lands on our knee and takes peanuts from us. Yes, there is such peace and relaxation. It holds me all week until I return.
At night we bring our Netflix or watch a DVD or video out of our library. Having surround sound makes it like we are in a movie theater. In the winter, we have a roaring fire going. We have fire wood provided for all our visitors.
I have to admit, I love my recliner in the corner of the living room that was my Mother's. I have a reading lamp above it and have the luxury to read in peace for hours while Joe plays the piano.
Since we are only a block and a half from the village and the clubhouse and golf course, we never have to drive. We can walk to the village or clubhouse for breakfast. Our favorite splurge is walking up to the bakery owned by John and Sy. They make the best pastries and Latte's.
