Lanata House is charming, wonderful place to stay. From the historic architecture to the great collection of art in the suite, we felt right at home on the first night. The owner was on hand every day to chat with us and to see if we needed everything. The property managers (they were in a seamless transition during our visit), were fun, friendly and kept the apartments and property immaculate. Lanata House is located just two blocks from the French Market, 2 blocks from Bourbon Street, and just one block from the Verti Mart (great take out food). My next visit to New Orleans will definitely involve staying here.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

We rented two units in December, 2011. The units are logically laid out with living spaces on the lower floor and the loft bedroom and bathroom upstairs. They were clean and fresh when we arrived. Rental units one and two face the street and have small patio areas with tables so that you can look out on the street activities of the day. You enter and exit through a secured locked gate, so you don't have any stragglers wandering through. My 81 year-old father felt extremely safe in this neighborhood and went for late night strolls after, "the children went to bed." The location is one block from the Ursuline convent and the French Market. You may walk three blocks to the train behind the French Market. The manager pointed us to the 24-hour Verti Mart Deli at 1201 Royal as a place to get groceries, alcohol, or take-out when you don't want to go to restaurants. They proved a very good recommendation, saved us lots of money, and the suites fall in the deli's delivery radius. The manager also made recommendations for restaurants and events to see while visiting. The owners invited us for cocktails to their unit a day before we left. The were very warm and inviting, told us humorous stories, and made a few final recommendations. We drove to New Orleans but did not use the car. The owners/manager provided us with a parking pass and directions on where to park. You truly don't need a car here. When we return, we definitely will stay there again. Over the years we've tried ten or so places; we found our new home when in New Orleans. Thanks to all the owners and managers for making this experience memorable.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when I'm in NOLA (which is as often as possible). The apartment is comfortably furnished and brilliantly located in the quiet end of the Quarter. Everything is provided, up to and including coffee sweetener and more towels than anyone could possibly use. The courtyard and pool areas are lovely, there are laundry facilities on the premises, and the owner and manager are the nicest people in the world. I love this place and wish I were there right now...Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

I visit N.O. several times a year and plan my trips around the avalibility of the Lanatta House. The Apartments are roomy ,romantic, and the front porches are the best in the Quarter.Mike, the Manager is delightful and always works to make your stay perfect. He also has more knowledge of the F.Q. than any of the tour guides, and is eager to share his knowledge. The pool also makes a Summer visit more pleasent. Cant wait till my next visit!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

I found the Lanata house through a friend several years ago. Every trip i took to New Orleans prior to that we would stay in hotels, which rarely cost less than 140.00 to 200.00 a night. The first time we visited , we arrived at 11 am. and was greeted be in incredibly nice young man named Micheal who not only helped us to park but also carried all our luggage for us. ( he didn't seem to mind we arrived a couple hours early either !! try that with a hotel. ) The room could easly have fit foru. Floor to ceiling brick walls, and huge windows give you the absolute feel of REAL New Orleans. A spiral wrought iron staircase goes to the second floor loft which overlooks the living room which is furnished beautifully and has a comfortable fold out queen size bed. A full kitchen with dining table helped when we stayed on year for two weeks. Everything about Lanata house is authentic and wonderful, and incredibly clean . the only drawback is there are so few rooms, I have only once written a testimonial to a business before, but my experiance here deserved it. .Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

My partner and I have stayed here many times, approximately 10. The location is ideal for us as we like browsing through the Farmer's market, many of the restaurants, bars and the Aquatic Center in the Meranie, and of course the French Quarter. The units are very spacious with a small kitchen perfect for nuking left overs and frig for our goodies, even has a range. Always clean and comfortable. The pool in the back is a great refresher as well.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, girls getaway.

We stayed here in December 2010 and absolutely loved the place. The outside was decorated with christmas lights and looked great. Very nice sleeping loft, nice porch out front, great pool area (too cold in Dec to use) and the location is really convenient to everything. There is a small kitchen and dining area. Highly recommend this condo to everyone.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.
Owner response: Our location and atmosphere is what makes us so special. We're located one block from the French Market in the French Quarters. But we're a quiet oasis in the middle of the bustling, crazy city. Cozy, homey apartments with split level openness makes us the comfortable, clean, safe, affordable choice in New Orleans.
