Perched high on a knoll, surrounded by hydrangeas and blackberry bushes, this 1996 traditional Block Island design is the perfect home to make your vacation both relaxing and memorable. The well appointed house is situated on 2 acres and has an extensive porch and deck overlooking a croquet field with beautiful ocean views that create a gorgeous backdrop for morning coffee, evening cocktails, or moonlight dinners.
The house is ideally located, it is private yet near town and all the popular beaches.For those of you who know Block Island, it is situated off Spring Street, about 1/2 mile from town and 1/2 mile to Southeast Lighthouse and the Mohegan Bluffs.
The house itself was built for comfort and fun. This is not your typical rental. It is tastefully designed with upscale furnishings and artwork. There are water views from nearly every room and a fabulous breeze.
There are 3 floors of living space. The second floor has 3 bedrooms... a master bedroom with a queen size bed and a bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms share a bath. One bedroom has a king bed that can be split into twins and the other has a queen. All rooms have good to great views.
The first floor has another master bedroom suite with French doors opening onto the deck and a queen size bed. There is also a large kitchen/ dining room and an over sized living room. Built-in speakers in these rooms and on the outside porch add to the total comfort of the house.
The lower level has 3 rooms that open on to a bluestone patio. There are two full size futon beds, a full bath and a game room on this level. There is a ping-pong table that can be converted to a pool table and also a foosball table on this level.
The front deck/ porch is quite large. It is our favorite place to entertain. It has a teak table and dining chairs and also really comfortable wicker furniture for lounging.
The house is very well equipped. Linens can be provided for an additional fee.
