If you are looking for a location that you can walk out of the front door and have easy access to everything you can't do better than this. Located on the corner at Mason and Union (on quiet Kent St)this flat is within easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions - Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Chinatown, Union Square and of course our own "Little Italy" North Beach. PLUS a view of the Bay and Alcatraz to enjoy when you return home. 200+ restaurants within a 1 mile and 50 within a 5 minute walk. Public transport via cable car and buses are just 20 meters away. AND you even have a garage parking space if you take that option.

This two bedroom, 2 full bath flat is air conditioned. Built in 1907 and COMPLETELY renovated (from the studs up)in 2006 this building has four units and is a real home away from home. Note: the second bedroom is set up as a full office and has a leather futon that makes a double bed. The flat is furnished stylishly and is bright and spacious with high ceilings and five skylights.

Comfortable queen bed with down comforter and pillow top mattress. (Note: we store a temperpedic topper on this bed that can be used on one futon and a featherbed topper for the other futon. While two futons make into full size beds (one in second bedroom and one in living room) we only allow up to four guests at a time. Linens and towels provided by owner.

Garage parking (tandem) for one car can be included at $10/day. This means that the parking space is long or deep enough to fit two cars single file. If your car is the second one in you leave your keys so that if the tenant in front needs to move their car they move your car first, move theirs out and replace yours first in line. And vice versa. Proof of insurance is required as it is tandem. NOTE: A rental car is NOT needed here unless you plan on making day trips that would require a car. Public transport is very good and easy to reach from this location.

Broadband Internet service, Cable Television, Washer/Dryer, included free. Note: there is no land line so bring your cell phone.

This is the perfect flat and location for a corporate renter or vacationer. A great romantic getaway too!

Provided for your stay will be whole bean coffee (with a grinder), homemade soap especially packaged for our rental property, shampoo, iron and table top ironing board and a blow dryer. We collect maps, guide books, restaurant menus, etc., for your review while you are visiting.

San Francisco is truly one of our favorite places on earth and our apartment is PERFECTLY located with over 200 restaurants in a 3 block radius. You are walking distance to North Beach and Chinatown (5 minute walk), Union Square (15 minutes) and Fisherman's Wharf (20 minutes). You are right on the cable car line and bus line if walking is not your thing.

  • Linens Provided: Temperpedic padding can be moved from Queen bed to futon to make the futon even more comfortable. The bed is already a very comfortable pillow top mattress. We store the pad there while it is not being used on the futon as it adds an extra layer of lush comfort to the bed.
  • Garage: There is one tandem space in the garage of the building that can be provided for an extra fee. Proof of insurance is required due to tandem parking.

  • It was a great place to stay. The apartment has all the amenities. We were very pleased. Judy was helpful with suggestions on how to get places, where to eat, and made suggestions on entertainment. She made sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything, she was prompt in getting back to us. No need to rent a car because there is good transportation to wherever you want to go. Or you can just walk. Just bring a good pair of walking shoes. Thanks, Hervalls for making our stay a pleasant one.

Missed having a TV in the master, though. We kept the windows open in the master bed. and the cable cars do make a bit of a racket in the late hours. But that's part of the SF scene!

  • Perfect location for walking and easy access to public transportation. Flat is clean, comfortable, light and airy with a fabulous view. Dozens of great restaurants and cafes within a 5 minute walk. Forget the car. Get a Muni Passport and ride the cable car or bus anywhere in the city.

  • We had the time of our lives in San Francisco and staying in this wonderful location played a huge role. The apartment was beautiful and immaculate to a fault –and the extra bonus of having a deck right off the kitchen/living area was FABULOUS! And I cannot say enough about Judy and her hospitality– she was a friendly and gracious host who saw to our every need from mattress toppers, down comforters, coffee bean grinder, and a state of the art bidet(!) in the master bath. etc., etc. – there was every possible amenity in this house and we LOVED how pampered we felt so much better than a hotel stay. Judy was with us every step of the way by email and phone, especially when we needed guidance driving into the city (I will not be renting a car next time – there’s just no need). Judy also provided books and maps and guided info about SF. The flat was walking distance to everything, especially those wonderful little Italian restaurants that we came to love. All in all we had a great stay…I will certainly be calling Judy again!

It is perfect for two couples. The view is great. We watched a cruise ship other freighters go by and of Alcatraz. We will be back. Thanks.

  • We were three adults coming to San Francisco. My husband and I lived here years ago and my sister was joining us. No kids. Just out on the town. We chose this apartment based on the video but mostly because we knew the location. But we were shocked by the fact that we truly could walk anywhere. We had forgotten how compact and intimate the city really is. But we loved the restaurants all around the apartment. We tried several in Northbeach (Italian!!) and some in Chinatown (Chinese of course) and we so pleased that we had chosen to revisit San Francisco. Back to the apartment which is what you are probably wanting to read about. It was spotlessly clean which is vital! The master bed is SO comfy - better than our bed at home which means we now realize we need a new mattress - and perhaps a down comforter as well. My sister stayed in the second bedroom which is a bit off putting as it is set up as an office and has a black leather futon. We pulled it out and put on the (very heavy) temperpedic topper we had been told about and my sister said it was amazingly comfy as was the second down comforter. Hakan and Judy have really not let you down with any detail. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need to cook, eat and drink. The small balcony with three chairs is amazingly relaxing and quiet to have a glass of wine. Now the best part - the view. You get to gaze right down at Alcatraz and watch the ships go by. At night Fisherman's Grotto lights up and is quite pretty. The building itself is four units and I would have assumed no one lived here except for the dog barking on the floor beneath us when we came and went. (Otherwise complete silence). We did use the garage and found the tandem parking worked fine. I would not recommend it for a very car unless you plan on parking and walking - not taking it in and out. One of the owners has a huge car and has no problem - but I wouldn't want to do it more than once. I highly recommend booking this place and we will be back.

  • My wife and 2 sons stayed here whilst we celebrated our anniversary. This flat was unbelivable: it was well stocked, clean and very comfortable . We enjoyed the beauty of San Francisco. We were easily within walking distance of: North Beach, Pier39, and other land marks. Also, the neighborhood is safe so I felt comfortable with my 2 young kids.
