Just as described!

We enjoyed the well appointed kitchen with a coffee grinder! The owner is thoughtful and cooperative, even providing a Scrabble game for us when we asked about one. Easy walk to good restaurants, grocery store, Starbucks and centrally located for driving to anywhere you want on the island. Unit is dated but, hey, you are just sleeping there, right? If you are looking for a resort experience, this isn't for you. If you want a comfortable convenient neighborhood-type place, this is the one for you!

I recently stayed at Scott's condo and found it in everyway a place that I would consider for my next visit. The comment about the comfort of the furniture might be true if you were only visiting the condo and not the island. There are three grocery stores located easily within walking distance as well as numerous restaurants. The comment about comfort provided by a couch probably would have been a 'territory' that I would not care to argue to possess. We had a friend over for cards twice during our stay and actually spent more time sitting at the table than in the two chairs commented about previously. The condo had every appliance you should need if you plan on making meals. The usual traffic thru downtown Kapaa was very manageable with the traffic lights. The condo overlooks a small yard and tennis court. During my stay only a few wild chickens inhabited the area. Many of the condos have full time residents and seemed to be very respectful of the other residents and visitors. In previous visits I have stayed in this area and have had some concerns about bugs and curious geckos. Not this time. The last comment I have in regards to the atmosphere provided one the pleasure of the trade winds off the ocean, ceiling fans for additional air movement, the morning coffee on the covered lanai with a peek view of the ocean and the always present Aloha of people who get to live there.

A Return to Paradise

Guest: Cindy (Scottsdale, Arizona)
Date of Stay: 06/28/11 Review Submitted: 07/24/11

The condo perfectly suited our needs (2 adults & 2 children) and was equipped with everything we needed and more. I would definitely recommend this condo to others. The owner was very friendly and easy to work with and agreed to arrangement that fit our travel plans. He even offered to help me with the return of my camera that I left while site seeing. The condo was clean and very private. It had every appliance that I could ever have needed in the kitchen and the stock of pots, pans and dishes was very good. I loved the balcony off of the back and there was a wonderful breeze that went through the condo with the screen door open. It was very quiet in the unit, except for the roosters, (haha which are everywhere on the island) and it was very convenient having on-site laundry. The free wifi was very much appreciated by two teenages. The beach was a short walk under a huge banyon tree and next to an undeveloped, native parcel of land. The beach was so private and peaceful. There was a dirt walkway through the native plants along the beach/coast line. Also, the kids and I loved the river inlet that was north of the property which went up and down with the tide. Kamoa street from the highway is very quite with only local traffic which was great. It was a very short walk to the main intersection at the highway and across the street were two grocery stores, McDonalds, Longs Drug and various restaurants. I love the local feel of the area and that is why I chose to return and stay in Kapaa again. We stayed in Kapaa on my first visit and while I love the entire island, Kapaa seems like my home away from home.

Condo review

Guest: Ron (Upper Kittitas County)
Date of Stay: 01/31/11 Review Submitted: 03/22/11

This unit is located a short walk from the beach, and is in walking distance to stores, coffee shops, restaurants and all of the other amenities that one would expect to need to enhance a stay in paradise. Parking is more than adequate. The unit is comfortable having room enough for two and then some. Especially helpful is the internet service and long distance phone service included with the unit. The unit is clean and maintained well without any issues that required attention. The owner was extremely helpful in getting this unit cleaned and ready for my occupancy. This unit is just south of Kapaa which provides shopping, restaurants and an eclectic culture to enjoy. Also in the area is the paved path that winds it's way north along the shore and was a perfect place to bike ride and walk. Since this condo is centrally located it is an easy distance to Hanalei Bay to the north or Waimea to the south. In all my (our) stay was pleasant and enjoyable in a well maintained well located condo. RPD

Perfect for those on a budget!

If your want to experience kauai on a budget, I highly recommend this condo. A friend and I spent 2 weeks here in February... A 2 bedroom for this price , is a rare find and I was a little apprehensive. But upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised! Yes, the living room was fairly small and its not beach front- hence the low price, but it was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. You can hear the ocean, just a short walk away and theres a beautiful long walk, along the beach- great for morning strolls after watching the beautiful sunrise! A great little covered lanai and my favorite was the super comfortable beds! A great place to stay if you want to be able to easily explore all sides of the island..

Excellent Experience

Guest: Lisa (Canada)
Date of Stay: 10/20/10 Review Submitted: 03/19/11

My friend and I recently spent two months staying at this condo! It was a very good experience. |The condo was very clean and appointed as described in the listing. Including many thoughtful touches you may not have thought about, like a drying rack for clothes, beach mats and a blender for smoothies! The location is perfect for any activity you choose to do on the island. Kappa is very central to everything. It's very easy to get north and south. There is are grocery stores, drug store, shops, restaurants and even a Starbucks at your finger tips! Not to mention the beach is less then a minute away!! This property will provide everything you need for your vacation, long or short! Don't hesitate to book with Scott! Lisa

2nd trip to Kauai..can't wait to return to the garden isle

Guest: luv2hike (Redwood City, CA (Northern California))
Date of Stay: 07/15/10 Review Submitted: 08/18/10

Ideal location at an ideal price – We would definitely come back to this condo next time we vacation in Hawaii. The condo is pleasant, offers a nice view from the rear balcony, and is very thoughtfully appointed with loads of useful accessories—including a picnic cooler, beach mats, and beach towels. The wall maps of Kauai were very handy as well. As another reviewer noted, the living room is a bit crowded with the current dining table. However, we were comfortable with the space (4 adults and 9 days). Everything was well maintained and matched the photos. We really liked being able to stroll the beach without even having to cross a street. Also a great location in terms of a quick walk to buy groceries and central location for the varied day excursions we made around the island.

Sat on balcony and watched the rain, we were on vacation!

Guest: Travelguy from N.Cal. (Willits, N. Cal.)
Date of Stay: 03/09/10 Review Submitted: 03/26/10

3/9-3/16/2010 Description is accurate-very well stocked for all food condiments, the appliances worked and were lo-tech enough that I could actually use them. The phone service to mainland was an added bonus as was the computer hook-up (used an ethernet which was provided), easy parking and good neighbors. Short walk to the ocean- shallow but swimmable. Unit is small but would work well for family(see wife comments) Shopping is very close (don't drive, traffic can be real slow) Downside-no pool or bbq, upside very affordable, no need for alarm clock rooster starts at 6:00am, great place if using as a central location to see Kauai, great affordable local eateries nearby, friendly church on corner. Overall very pleasant experience-would have liked more sun less rain but we were on vacation and on Kauai and it was cold and snowing at home. (wife comment)-needs a sofa and smaller table and chairs-limited comfortable seating and crowded with current furniture, worked for the two of us.
