This is a wonderful cottage and a great location. The cottage is so tastefully decorated and so comfortable and clean. There was nothing we needed that wasn't available. The views were great and we really enjoyed meeting a lot of the local folks that live in this lobstering community.Dinner at Morse"s was great and you can't miss breakfast at Big's on Bailey Island. We needed a laid back vacation, yet close enough to things for a lot of day trips. We explored everything from Camden down to the Kennebunks and had a wonderful time. You can't go wrong with this cottage.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Cottage is well stocked (maybe over-stocked) with kitchen and foggy-day entertainment accessories (puzzles, books, and if you must, DVD's). Only downside is the noise of car traffic on adjacent route 24; but it was tolerable. Views from house are great. And if you are up for a car drive, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. The Maritime Museum in Bath is a must. Cook's is good experience (but over priced). Morse's is a much better value, and a close walk. Anyway, how hard is it to cook lobster? Giant Stair cafe has great lobster roll for low price. H2Outfitters was a good kayak experience. Dolphin Marina provided an excellent dinner. Bowdoin College art museum is engaging, as is the adjacent Peary/MacMillian Arctic Museum. Portland is only an hour away; Freeport (LLBean) is only 40 minutes.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Even more beautiful than the pictures! Beautiful views, excellent well maintained home with everything you could possible need for your stay. Love the hammock chair for watching spectacular sunsets. One of the most relaxing and best places we have ever rented. Highly recommend a visit to Heron's Rest. Perfect location with some of the most beautiful scenic coves. Seafood on the island is "out of this world good"!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

This is a wonderfully comfortable property in a great, easily reachable Maine location. The property is perfectly clean with all modern amenities. A large kayak outfitter is down the road 3-4 houses. They can meet all your needs, or you can do as we did and bring our own and pay a very small fee to leave the boats for the week by the water. Kayak choices are boundless. Yet, you can walk to 3 different eateries to get great breakfast sandwiches and scones and muffins or terrific seafood dinners. Yankee Magazine's reputed best New England lobster roll is a short walk away and was not the best lobster roll we ate. It is a place that you will not need your car once parked unless you need to reload groceries. The living room has a peaceful water view and great chairs and sofa. Nice outdoor gas grill and sitting area. Great beds. Lots to like! We strongly recommend this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.
