Great Vacation Location

This was our first visit on Lake Erie and first time renting through VRBO. "The Glass House" is exactly as advertised and very clean. The owner sent a good operations list and suggestions for activities and restaurants. A bonus is the caretaker. We thank her for her guidance and hospitality. We give her 10 stars. We traveled with our children and grands. The house had wonderful living, dining and sleeping spaces. There are beds for 8 and there were 11 of us at one point. Pushing the twin beds together worked very well for little ones. The beautiful back yard was so great for playing and relaxing. There was plenty in storage for the children's entertainment. We enjoyed s'mores around a small beach fire and had a bit of a swim in the bay. We brought lifejackets for peace of mind. The fabulous decks were not child-friendly. We couldn't trust the "monkeys" around those or the front lawn .... just made them "off-limits". The location is lovely and so convenient to the Cedar Point parks. On 2 different days we made the easy drive to Port Clinton. Enjoyed the ferry to South Bass Island and a visit to Wildlife Safari Park. The drive-through safari was messy, but the little ones were fearless and squealed with delight. We have always traveled to the ocean or Disney for family vacations. Our daughter suggested Cedar Point for fun and less time on the road. It turned out to be a wonderful idea. Although we had unusually hot temps the first of the week, the last of it was fabulous. When the "monkeys" are older we definitely want to bring them back.

Perfect accomodations!

Me and 8 other adult college friends just stayed here for our annual golf trip get together. The place was perfect! It was clean, spacious, and the location right on the lake was awesome! Beachfront access made it easy to take a late night swim in the warm Lake Erie waters, the big backyard gave us plenty of space to play cornhole and grill out (the gas grill heats up in a hurry!) Very peaceful setting, many in my group said they had no idea the Lake Erie area had so much to offer and would be coming back with their families.

Great experience!

We stayed at the glass house with friends in town from the U.K. We had a fabulous time. The house is cozy with retro furnishings, very cool. Standing in the house you can see the beach on both sides, amazing. The beach is in the backyard, so easy with kids (ours are 8, 6, 4 and 3). Across the street is another beach, a nice option but kids can't cross the street alone. The back patio is a great place to gather and cook out on the grill. You can also hang out on either baclcony, so many great places to hang! You don't need to bring anything to the glass house - the owners provide everything - towels, linens, beach toys, kitchen stuff, soap, even good toilet paper! The only thing you may need is a few lounge chairs for chilling by the beach. Lastly, The owner and keeper are lovely and accessible. We will be back. :)

My family (7 adults) decided to spend a few days, after my sons wedding in Erie, enjoying the Cedar Point Area. The bride and grooms and assorted cousins stayed at the Cedar Point Resort. We certainly had a much better experience at the Glass House. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. We enjoyed great views and hosted a dinner party in the spacious backyard. While the young adults enjoyed thrill rides, we enjoyed relaxing at the Glass House. What a great vacation!!

Cincinnati guests

Date of Stay: 07/31/10 Review Submitted: 08/14/10

We loved staying at the Glass House for our week-long family reunion with our two married sons and their families. The house was perfect space-wise and the 3 children had their own space on the lower level with a TV while the adults could congregate on the upper level with the views of the bay on one side of the house and the lake on the other side. The huge grassy back yard was wonderful for wiffle ball games and soccer and we even roasted marshmallows on the beach of the bay side. We did all the activities near by for the kids and 2 wonderful golf courses for the golfers. Our week at The Glass House was truly memorable. Cincinnati guests
