Our lovely Hawaiian plantation style home located on Kauai’s north shore, is surrounded by tropical flowers and plants, and features open beam ceilings and a wrap-around covered lanai. The garden view from the lanai, plus distant mountain views make it a soothing, relaxing place to visit. Wake up to the sun rising on the lanai, and enjoy the setting sun through the bedroom windows.
This two bedroom detached home affords beautiful views and catches the cool trade wind breezes on warm Hawaiian afternoons. Nearby bluffs offer fantastic views of the Pacific, a place to watch the waves, seabirds and whales during their southern migration to the islands. Activities include tennis, horseback riding, zip-lining, hiking, shopping, and of course the beaches. The Princeville resort community is also home to the beautiful Prince Golf Course, named Number One golf course by Golf Digest and is included in their list of America's 100 Greatest golf courses.
The living room includes two comfortable couches, one queen-sized and the other full-sized, which unfold into beds, along with TV/DVD/Cable/Tivo. Just the place to relax after a wonderful day in paradise. The open ceilings give a spacious feel where you can entertain friends or just chill out.
The complete kitchen includes range, refrigerator, disposal, microwave, and overlooks the garden filled with tropical flowers. Meals can be eaten in the dining area (seats six) or outside on the lanai (our favorite dining space). If you prefer, you can barbeque on the gas grill just outside the kitchen windows. For those "I don't feel like cooking" days, nearby restaurants at the Princeville center (about a 15-20 minute walk, or a couple of minutes by car) or in Hanalei and Kilauea offer fabulous service and delicious local and international cuisine.
The guest bedroom is equipped with two full-size beds, a full closet, and plenty of storage space for clothing. The master bedroom also includes phone and WiFi/DSL - perfect for emailing your vacation pictures to jealous friends! (Bring your WiFi equipped laptop, but leave the work at the office.)
The two-car garage not only keeps your car protected, but provides a handy place to stage those excursions to the mountains, the beach, or wherever your adventures on Kauai take you. All linens are supplied. Washer/dryer are in the garage.
Enjoy nearby beaches at Anini and Kalihiwai, snorkeling at Tunnels and Queens Bath, kayaking on the Hanalei River. Dine at restaurants in Princeville, Hanalei, and Kilauea. Walk to nearby sea lodge beach, just ten minutes walk from your door. You'll enjoy comfort, privacy, and quiet that you can't find at a condo or hotel.

Princeville Plantation Home a home away from home

We stayed at this lovely home Jan 9th to 19th 2011. The layout of the house was perfect for us - the bedrooms and bathrooms separated from the living and dining areas by being down a few steps - easy to get to but a little apart. The lanai wraps around the house with a BBQ just outside the kitchen side. We grilled every evening and ate on the lanai. The lanai was very peaceful and private - the only sound was the birds. Everything was very clean and well maintained - everything in the listing was accurate or better. We could have used a little more hot water in the tank in the mornings - I used every drop when I showered. You can walk to the Princeville Center for shops - we mainly went for the Foodland supermarket - particularly good pre-made sandwiches. There were cool beach chairs in the garage that we used for beach picnics and surf watching. We played Princeville 'Prince' golf course - about 3 miles south - we were fortunate they had a 'special' price due to bunker work. It was the best golf course we've ever played - one of a kind. Kapa'a to the south has a good Safeway supermarket. Also fun in Kapa'a was renting bicycles and cruising the bike paths right along the shore - no cars to worry about. We were very comfortable staying here and would most certainly recommend it.

My wife and I took our two boys here for their first trip to Hawaii and our time away at this house has since become a fond memory for us all. The house was big enough to allow room for everyone to live comfortably, the neighbor hood was quiet and we enjoyed having a garage we could pull into after a trip to the beach. Everyday we loaded up and went out to a different beach to either body surf or snorkel and often fit in exploring some of the owner's favorite things to do around the Princeville area, like visiting Duane's Ono Char-Burger restaurant where we went several times for island burgers. We had a great time there.

Great house on a quiet street. Well furnished with beach towels, beach mats, a boogie board, games, books videos and washer dryer. Also had a barbecue and sufficient dishes and pans so that you didn't need to eat out every meal. Smaller bedroom either needs a screen or ceiling fan is only issue. Clean & pretty. Pam & John

We just spent a relaxing week in Princeville. The house was perfect for our needs-simple and uncrowded. The tropical breezes kept us cool at night. Sitting on the surrounding deck was delightful. We used the laundry in the garage regularly and appreciated parking in the garage. In a free standing house, we didn't feel closed in by neighbors, like condos sometimes do. Close to everything on the North Shore of Kauai.
