This was a wonderful place to stay for a visit to Northstar. The condo was large, clean and very close to the Village. The views are beautiful and the place is very quiet. The owner is quite generous with his sleds and winter gear. The condo is great for families with kids. There are 3 levels, but well functioning baby gates are available. They worked great for us and our young ones.

The Silver Strikes condo is very convenient, the shuttle stops super close so not too much walking in ski boots. We were not able to ski in on either trip due to snow conditions but hope to next time. The interior is a little dated but very comfortable and the living space / kitchen area is open so verysocialble for groups. Lovely gas fireplace and balcony. The owner is great, very efficient and the instructions could not be clearer. Good wifi connection, basic TV channels so take DVDs. We love Northstar and for a group of 6 friends, this condo is perfect.
Owner response:Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about the snow conditions causing you being unable to ski back. Fortunately, as far as the resort is concerned, Northstar has one of the largest snow making capacities at Tahoe, so they were able to put down a decent base in early season to support what snow we did get this season. It has been a sparse year, but there has been some snow lately, so hopefully the ski back trail is getting some coverage now. Too bad you didn't get up last year which was epic. I hope you can return another season when the snow conditions are better.

Would definetely stay here again on a return visit to Northstar. In fact when returning with my wife and two children I would stay here. Alex was very helpful and the apartment was very comfortable for 3 single guys While good, the photos don't do this condo justice it's an excellent place to stay with great facilities located very close to Northstar village.

We had a great experience with this condo at Northstar. It was perfect for our family of 5. Well located, well stocked kitchen, clean, easy transportation to Northstar Village. We will definitely go back.
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words. We love the location, too of course and we do our best to keep it stocked with the help of our great housekeeper whenever something runs low between our own visits.

We stayed for a weekend and really liked it. We went with another family and both familes have small children - 5 total! It was a perfect set up for us. One family took the bottom bedrooms and we took the top bedroom. There were extra blankets and pillows for us to make a little bed on the floor for our kids upstairs. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. It was clean and well maintained. Although the condo has lots of stairs, baby gates were available to help contain the kids. The living room had a nice fireplace and comfy couches. The Northstar shuttle runs from the condo to the village making traveling between the two very easy. The owner was very helpful with information on traveling up from the Bay Area during a pretty bad storm. We would definitely stay here again!!

Our family had a great time on our ski vacation to Northstar! The condo was clean, big and has all the necessaries (paper towels, shampoo, spices, laundry etc.) - no need to bring the basics. There was a ton of snow the weekend we were there, and lots of traffic on Northstar drive. Fortunately, the condo was close enough for us (2 adults, 3 daughters) to walk to/from the village to avoid car traffic. The shuttle is very easy to take as well (except the traffic was awful b/c of the snow and car accidents - we walked back to the condo in 10 minutes which would have taken at least 30 minutes via shuttle). We will visit again! The owner is extremely helpful.
Owner response:I am glad things went well and sorry to hear about the traffic, but as you say, staying within walking distance gives you the option to avoid it. Heavy snow does aggravate the traffic situation. Avoiding the equipment "schlep" and drive to the resort is a primary reason I bought this condo. I never grow tired of being able to ski back down to it. Although we do our best to keep the "basics" in stock such as shampoo and body wash, it is not guaranteed and we do especially encourage guests to bring along their own if they have a favorite shampoo or conditioner. Thank you for your business and we look forward to having you back.

The condo was perfect for our family....size of rooms and beds. The location is really nice as you don't have to drive to the pool or village with all the wonderful shops and restaurants. The owner could not have been more helpful and honest and a real delight to work with. We will definitely go back again!!!

We had a great 3 night stay at this townhouse. It was very spacious and comfortable for our family. Our two teen boys loved being so close to the Village at Northstar. This townhouse is in a great location for year-round adventures.

Two families shared this condo in July and we had a wonderful time. It is the second time we have used this condo. It is well stocked and very comfortable. It is conveniently located to Northstar Village and the mountain bike park and gondola. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The condo was in excellent condition, was well stocked with everything that was needed. The barbeque was a little cranky, but it did the job! Everything was clean and comfortable, a little dusty, but that is to be expected in the mountains! The resort was full of fun and friendly people, and hiking trails by the unit were perfect for kids (of all ages!). We would definetely recommend this property to friends and relatives. My family wants to come back!
Owner response:Thank you Judy. After contacting you privately, I now know that the barbecue vents were a little sticky to close and that the dust you mentioned was on the blinds, so next time I'm up, I'll lubricate those vents and I'll ask the housekeeper to look after the blinds next cleaning. Many thanks. We appreciate the constructive feedback. Alex

I took my wife and 6-year old daughter to Northstar for their first time skiing. So, I was looking to make this experience as easy and fun as possible. Part of that experience was to choose lodging as convenient and comfortable as possible. This condo is located in a great location about a quarter mile walking distance from the base of Northstar where the village is located. While not "ski on", it is a beautiful walk along a creek right into town. My daughter and I spent time right behind the condo building snowmen, having snowball fights, and sledding down small hills. The sleds were provided by the property owners. The condo was nice. Two bedrooms on the bottom floor -- one has two twins, great for kids. The living room and kitchen and patio are located on the middle floor. And, there's another bedroom and bathroom on the third floor -- kind of like a loft. Overall, we found the condo clean and comfortable, and loved the location.

There were 6 of us plus a 10 month old baby who stayed here for 3 nights the end of January 2010. The place was the perfect fit for us, it was great being in Northstar to use the shuttles the mountain and the village. The rec center is fantastic after a day on the slopes! The owner was very friendly and easy to work with, the home was beautiful, and we can't wait to be able to go there again!

We had a great time at Northstar and the condo made it very easy to have fun. The condo is close to the village, well organized and clean. Thanks for being so flexible when one of the kids "special pillow" got left behind. Can't wait to go back.

Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. The condo was very clean, well furnished and decorated - it really felt as if we were in a home away from home. Plenty of towels, dishes and all of the cooking utensils I could possibly need which made cooking a breeze. The Rec Center had the look and feel of a well appointed country club - huge pool, very nice tennis courts and fitness center with a friendly and helpful staff. This will be my first recommendation for friends and family going to the Tahoe area.

Very clean, very organized and stocked with everything you need for a wonderful vacation. We had a great time staying at this condo. The best part was the use of the recreation center at Northstar. The pool is amazing, the kids swam all day and you never have to leave, they have everything there - big pool, kiddie pool, playground, tennis courts, game room, basketball court, fitness center and locker room w/ showers. Great place for families. Thank you for the use of your condo.

We had a wonderful time at Northstar. The Condo was easy to rent and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and everyone had a place to sit at the dining table and in the living room. The beds are soft and the towels are thick! We spent our time on the mountain top. My son was mountain biking and we were hiking. It's a great place for a summer vacation.

We had a fantastic week at the condo. It was very clean and cosy and had everything that we needed, and more. The location was perfect for our ski week and being able to ski back was a big plus. The shuttle buses worked well or just a 5 min walk up to the village and rec club facilities. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

We stayed in this beautifully appointed condo with 7 people. There was plenty of room and spotlessly clean!! A great family place. We enjoyed a well-stocked kitchen and nice views. Also, the rec center, newly remodeled, an awesome place to hang out with kids after a long day of hiking!

Escrow closed on my dream Tahoe condo Friday, 5/11. Working feverishly to interview and find great housekeepers, get bids on new furnace, new hot water heater and fireplace gas log. Getting materials ready for internet listings and web site. Doing my best to get it in good shape for renters who want to share the dream.
