As you turn onto Lily Bay Lane to drive through the pretty apple orchard and tree-canopied road, you soon spy this lovely lake house located on West Pond in Parsonsfield, Maine. West Pond covers 140 acres and has a maximum depth of 28 feet.
The lake house with attached garage is within 20 feet of the water and has a kitchen, dining room, living room, sun room, bath and two bedrooms. The living room has a partial cathedral ceiling. One bedroom has a queen bed with large closet with shelving, two night stands and a tower fan.
The second bedroom has two twin beds, a trundle bed, large closet, bureau and ceiling fan. In the sun room is a futon that converts to a double bed. Sliding doors close off the sun room for privacy. The floor plan is open and sunny with water views from all rooms except the bathroom and laundry area. Laundry area has a new washer, a new dryer, sink, cupboards, ironing board and iron. Although breezes off the water keep the house cool, there are ceiling fans in the living room and dining room. Pillows, blankets, linens and towels are included.
Privacy is an understatement as the house is surrounded on three sides by trees and crystal clear water in front. Here you can choose a peaceful, undisturbed vacation sipping morning coffee in the sunroom, reading a favorite book, stretching out in the sun, barbecuing some ribs, playing cards, sitting around the campfire, listening to the loons, looking at the stars and just plain unwinding.
Jump off the dock, veg out on an inflatable raft or drop a fishing line. Thanks to two large overhanging oaks, bass swim off the end of the dock.
Paddle the canoe across the pond or bike around the parameter. Browse the antique shops in the nearby historical village of Cornish and buy fresh vegetables at roadside farm stands. A 45 minute drive takes you to White Mountain National Park or Settlers Green Outlet Village with 60 retail stores.

This lake house is the perfect spot for anyone looking for privacy. The house is in excellent condition, tastefully decorated, with all the comforts of home yet it sits on a rise providing an expansive view of West Pond through a wall of windows. Even rainy days can be enjoyed from inside the house given this view. The loons appear everyday and can be heard day and night. There is an ample supply of "toys" to provide activities for vacationers: bicycles, a canoe, water toys, books, games, DVD's, an enormous gas grill, and a perfect spot to sit around a fire. The lake water is always the perfect temperature for swimming and the deck is the perfect spot to pass the day.
