  My sister and I are writers and looked for a place to get away and accomplish a few goals--not always easy to do with husbands and energetic dogs to distract you. We couldn't have asked for more. The owner's have thought of everything. The view was perfect and everything about it was inspirational...not only for writing. Our week was a time of relaxation, spiritual renewal and creativity. Thank you, Alex and Cathy, for sharing your beautiful home. We hope to return next year.

  Gorgeous property! House was very open and spacious, and the views were fantastic. We loved all of the balconies, flowers, and huge windows. Owners were great to work with, and the house was stocked with everything you could ever want or need! Thank you!

  Thee of us, two humans and one dog, went for a very stormy/rainy weekend and fell in love with this home. Because of road closures and downed power lines we arrived in the dark. When we entered the home we were very pleased with everything. The lay out, the size, everything. We really liked that the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house. This is a great reason while we will return with another couple next time. The pictures do not do it justice. This is an excellent kitchen for cooking, very comfortable and well laid out living room. The tv and satalite/dvd etc was perfect for watching movies in front of the fire place. We discovered just how well stocked this house is when we cooked dinner on Saturday night. they have really thought of everything. and I mean from a whisk to serving platter to sauces. We contributed A 1 sauce. They even have a closet full of items for the dog. blankets, toys, bowls, even a leash! In the morning when it was finally light out side we were overjoyed with the great peaceful view. Now, next time I want to meet these Donkeys!

  This place is a slice of artful heaven. The setting is fantastic, waking up to beautiful views via the big windows and glass doors, rolling hills and amusing donkeys that visited the edge of the property one night. Super comfortable rooms, beds and amenities and the layout of the house is such that you don't feel crowded at all with other people yet it's very friendly feeling. Nice little touches abound which we really appreciated. Great kitchen though we didn't spend too much time cooking. Convenient small supermarket not too far away and we found a warm beach called Anchor Beach about 25 minutes south. (it is cool 60s day time) at other beaches during the day and generally in the area, but Anchor Beach has a unique warm "microclimate". ) . The owner supplied us with lots of information beforehand which was very helpful. You do have to drive a bit (20 minutes -40 minutes) to get to some of the better restaurants in the area, but it is worth it for the food and beautiful drive along Pacific Coast Route 1. LIttle River restaurant in Little RIver was our favorite eating experience. (reservations recommended). Wineries about an hour away and that was a fun day. Oh a great FM radio station in the area is 95.3 KOZT. I'd recommend this house hands down. Nicest place we've stayed at in a long time, really :-)

  What a fantastic vacation home! The owners have thought of every detail to provide a relaxing and enjoyable home-base in a stunningly beautiful location. As much as we enjoyed exploring Irish Beach, Point Arena, Elk and Mendocino, we found ourselves wanting to get back to the house quickly and just relax on the deck or enjoy the wonderful view of the ocean. The local wineries and tasting rooms are spectacular and not overly crowded and were just what we wanted. If you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation in an absolutely perfect home, this is the one! We will definitely be back. One week was simply not enough! Thank-you for all the attention to detail to create this vacation get-away and for sharing this gem.

  I feel like a young girl, recording in her diary in a hopeful feeling with life on the horizon. Our family finds this slice of heaven a peaceful guest in our lives. So much change in the past few years but this Corey House remains a constant—blue skies, rolling waves, donkeys, an incredible shelter, and quiet unheard of in our busy lives. This morning, I drove for the Chronicle (it’s Sunday and nothing better than the paper and coffee) to Manchester—cows and rolling pastures and the ocean. As always, the Corey House is patient, waiting for its next visitors, always welcoming and clean! Four donkeys here at 10:15 last night, heehawing their welcome to us. I’m unsure—is this our 8th visit? We are looking forward to the next one. Thank you Heidi and Kevin The wings of an angel are ever present here. Happy New Year.

  Thank you for all of the loving touches you have done to make this house feel like home. It is so clean and tidy that it feels like no one else has ever been here, and that I belong here. A miracle happened—2 years and 4 months ago I adopted Miss Dee O. Gee (D.O.G.) from an animal sanctuary. No one wanted her because she was so old and very, very skinny. She was “deaf” and aloof, oblivious to anyone. I figured I could give her a good home, for a year at the most. Well, over the years Ms. Dee O. Gee has blossomed into a beautiful loving affectionate companion. She is part Australian Healer and is with me wherever I go. She is my best friend with very good manners and she is impeccable about being house broken. The day before coming here, Ms. Dee O. Gee could barely walk, wouldn’t eat or drink water and for the first time growled at me when I tried to move her. I debated on taking her to the Vet or bringing her here and taking her to a vet out here. I decided to bring her because I knew God was with us. I prayed, pleaded for her life, as I am not ready to let go of my best friend just yet. Well, she hobbled into the house and a bit later drank water, ate her dog food and then snooped around outside for a good place to relieve herself! Then we went for a walk and to the beach and we walked every day for at least 2 hrs! She has been running, head held high and tail wagging. It’s as if she’s younger than ever in her life. I believe God has worked through all of your touches in this magical home filled with good energy that you bring, and the people who stayed here before me, and in the nature that surrounds us, to heal my beloved best friend Ms. Dee O. Gee. Thank you! We’ll be back very soon. Jodi P.S. Ms. Dee O. Gee says she appreciates that she felt welcome here. There were no rules for the dogs like in most vacation homes, usually so many stipulations and rules that it seems like dogs really aren’t welcome. Here, she felt welcome, and her mom was relaxed too, which helped Ms. Dee O. Gee. She said she had a wonderful, jubilant time. Thank you. 5 woofs!!!!!

Cleaning fee:   $115.
Two night minumum stay.  Monthly rates range from $3500 to  $5200.
Major holidays: 7 night min., $1395/wk; less than 7 nights, $225/nt.
Rates are for up to 4 adults; add $10/night for each additional adult 18 or older.
11% Mendocino County bed tax.
$10 per day per pet/$50 maximum pet fee per stay.
