There is a boat available on the lake so bring your fishing gear! (NC fishing license required). There are hiking trails and picnic areas available also. Riverbend is just a few miles from Lake Lure, one of the ten most beautiful man-made lakes in the world. Lake Lure is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The lake area is known for its fishing, swimming, and other water sports, as well as abundant wildlife. An unusual natural thermal belt runs through the area, providing Lake Lure with wonderfully moderate temperatures year round. Major motion pictures filmed here include Dirty Dancing, Last of the Mohicans, A Breed Apart, and Fire Starter. The Sage Cottage has two bedrooms on the main level (one with queen bed and one with twin beds) and a full bath. A queen sleeper sofa is in the living room. Upstairs is the Master Bedroom (with king bed) and a very large Master Bathroom with a Jacuzzi and stand-up shower.
