This condo is a gem.It is everything described and much more. Our family of 4 adults and one toddler were extremely comfortable. The owners were responsive to our quirky questions and provided us with a wealth of information about the Big Island and nearby things to do. The Mauna Lani Beach Club beach is perfect for toddlers even in high wind conditions. It is a sheltered cove with great snorkeling. Everything is provided at the Villa from beach towels to chairs, sand toys, etc. Our grandson age 15 months loved the toy golf set and added "golf" to his expanding vocabulary. We would recommend this condo to friends and would definitely return.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

This is the first 2 week vacation we have ever taken and it could not have been better. It was just the two of us but I'm sure families would also find this a great unit. We have been to the golf villas before and feel that the units on the makai side (towards the ocean) like this one are better since you cannot count on clear views towards the mauka side. This unit was everything we wanted; conveniently located, tastefully decorated, loaded with amenities (guide books, beach & snorkel gear, coolers, night lights, extra (used) golf balls, etc) land a gourmet kitchen with all the supplies and utensils. Karen was very helpful before our arrival. We enjoyed cooking out and dining on the main floor lanai and watching the golfers from the master lanai. We did go lava diving for some of those extra golf balls; be careful if you do as they don't call it a'a lava for nothing. The pool complex is steps from the door and the owner's beach club is a short walk or drive - get there by 9am if you want a cabana. The snorkeling is great at this beach so there is no need to go on a snorkel trip unless you want to. The local farmers and fish markets are great, but get your gas and booze at Costco if you are a member. The local Foodland stores (Shops at Mauna Lani, Waimea and Waikoloa Village) have the BEST poke. The Island Gourmet at the Queens Shops at Wailokoa Beach is great for "just for two" kind of shopping. Tommy Bahama's and Ruths Chris at the Shops at Mauna Lani have great happy hours, no need tor a big dinner. The Seafood Bar in Kawaihae is a must for dinner, great food and reasonable (for Kohala) prices. Maybe next time we can stay for a month...Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We were here for a week: along with dozens of others from all over the world for a wedding at Mauna Lani. We all stayed in every one of the Mauna Lani communities. Your home was the BEST! First class in every way and ultra-convenient!. You thought of everything. The pictures and description do not capture how fabulous the view down the tenth hole and Kohala Coast is from the upstairs and downstairs patios. To those looking for a townhome at Mauna Lani, look no further. Book it.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We've been renting through VRBO for 12 years now and this was by far the most beautiful condo we ever stayed at. As a family of 5 (2 college kids and a 13 year old) there was ample of space, bedrooms were great and the kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything. Loved the beach club and the resort pool right outside the door (never crowded). Hapuna Beach is a 10 min drive and fantastic. Karen was an absolute joy to work with. A clean, quiet, and well located property; other than VNP, easy drive to anywhere (and VNP worth the trip!). The condo was large, comfortable, and accomodated both teens and adults with room to spare. Black Sands 49 was our evening swim - short walk over the lava rock to a peaceful beach, then back to BBQ on the lani. The beach club was nice, but definitely more for the family with small children. Hapuna Beach, 5 miles away was great for all, especially teens. Thanks for a well stocked kitchen, lots of beach gear, ice chests, towels, and good advice in the welcome binder. The master room lani upstairs was a favorite retreat. The big screen TV was appreciated for the NCAA final 4 (womens' and mens!) and even mom could figure out the remote. Thanks for sharing a delightful home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. My family of 5 had an amazing stay and it was perfect. The home was clean, spacious and fully stocked - from kitchen and household items to pool toys. Some condos just give the bare minimum for plates, etc. This kitchen had more than enough which was nice - especially if you have some dishes still in the dishwasher. The kids loved having their own bathroom while my 81 year old mother enjoyed her own bedroom and bathroom on the main floor. The pictures do not do it justice. We loved sitting out on the lanai watching the golfers while our children ran around on the green space to the side. Inside, there was more than enough room to play games (which the condo provided!) or watch movies. The condo is a great proximity to the pool and the nearby private beach club (which is a real bonus!) Karen gave us a full list of things to see and do and was extremely helpful - the Fisherman's Trail was an adventure for us and we even watched a whale play in the ocean. We also enjoyed going to the nearby black sand beach which we didn't even know about during our last visit in the Mauna Lani resort. We definitely recommend this condo for anyone with small children to seniors. Thank you again for helping us have an incredible vacation. Should we come back to the Big Island, we will definitely try to stay here!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We were fortunate to spend all of February in this delightful and fully equipped condo. The location of the villa is among the best in the complex. We loved that they did not have the standard practice of throwing out anything partially used by previous renters. Thus we had more ability to cook using spices etc. you might not buy for a week/month stay. The variety of cookware and serving items was unrivaled by any condo we have ever stayed in. This and many of the other golf villas do not include the garage but they were not picky about storing bikes outside and their closet full off beach items was wonderful....chairs, cooler, beach toys and towels. We hope to return soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) spent a fantastic Xmas week on the Big Island. The villa is beautifully decorated with everything you could need. The kitchen has every piece of equipment imaginable. You could tell the villa is the homeowners getaway and not a cookie cutter rental. Be sure to check out the Mauna Lani Beach Club. The restaurant and beach are great. If you get a chance, drive to Hawi, a cool laid back town about 35 minutes NW from Mauna Lani. There are some great shops and a unique farmers market on Tuesdays. Our kids had some of the best "shave ice".Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: From the day we were married and honeymooned in Hawaii, my husband and I had a dream to own a piece of paradise. In the Spring of 2007, we were finally able to realize that dream with the purchase of the villa in Mauna Lani. Picture taken at the Kona Village Luau.
Why the Owner Chose Golf Villas:
After vacationing to the Big Island for over twenty years we knew this was the Island for us. You get a little bit of everything: golf, snorkeling, white sand beaches, black sand beaches, green sand beaches, active volcano, rain forest, snow, whales, dolphins and on and on!
Once we knew the Big Island was the Island for us we then narrowed in on Waikoloa and Mauna Lani. Ultimately we chose Mauna Lani because it is very peaceful, the beaches are some of the best in the world, the resort amenities are ranked in the top 5 annually by many travel publications and we loved what the Golf Villas had to offer with the gorgeous resort style pool, large townhome style living, the views from our lanai and the upscale finishings. Come see for yourself the gem we have discovered!
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
We are the original owners of this property and worked with the builder each step of the way throughout the building project. We hand selected many of the finishings and after we purchased the home we brought in one of the island's top interior decorators to custom paint and assist in selecting the furnishings.
Many of the furnishings were custom made including most of the wood pieces which were designed specifically for our villa and custom made in Bali. There is a combination of teak and mahogany with hand carved palm leaves and honu turtle.
You will find this property is a home and not a 'rental unit.' We reside in the villa ourselves between 4-6 months each year. The fact that we spend so much time 'on island' will be noticed as soon as you step through the door. We have many original art pieces, a kitchen stocked with everything a chef needs to prepare a gourmet meal, linens that are only used by guests of the villa, and we are constantly upgrading and maintaining the property.
