We had a fantastic time at this home. It is very nice and very roomy. We had 4 teenage girls and had plenty of room. Even our puppies enjoyed staying here. Would recommend getting a golf cart but you can walk if you like. Pools are close enough to walk to. Get a gate key for easy excess to the beach. My husband and myself enjoyed riding around in the complex at night. I would recommend to anyone.

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My family and I just got back from our vacation at Sandie & Bob's vacation house in Myrtle Beach/Surfside Beach. The home was even better than the pictures showed. We thought the home would be more "dated" by some of the photos (bathroom counters/kitchen), however, we were extremely thrilled with the what we walked into!! It is clearly visible that they have put time and effort into maintaining and updating their property, as well giving each houseguest a comfortable and memoriable vacation spot. We enjoyed using some of their games (although we found out quickly there are no geniuses among our group while playing Trivial Pursuit Genius Edition), as well as easy access to hook up our Wii and PS3 that the little & big kids brought with them. Having TV's in all the bedrooms was especially important with 3 kids and 4 adults! The location was great. While it was possible to walk to the activity center, playground, indoor and outdoor pools, it was more convenient and simply easier to load everyone up and drive. Suggestion to everyone ----it's is DEFINITELY worth putting the $20 deposit down upon arrival to get your gate card---- it allows you to enter the community from any entrance at any time. This is extremely important when visiting the private beach area at the back of the property. We were two families staying together with a pet. Not only is it ground level which allowed easy access for taking the dog out, but it also allowed easy in and out for loading/unloading luggage, groceries, children etc. The back screened in porch was wonderful and became a family favorite during our stay. It really is true that you can sit on it and watch the ducks, swan, turtles, and fish play day & night. We even had one swan in particular come up to the small dock to "squeal" at the dog every morning. It was hysterical! The seating in the living room gave plenty of room for our bunch, as well as other family members who came over to visit. The floors were great to keep clean and maintain during our stay and we even used the outside shower which was an absolute joy to have handy!! We would definitely stay here again. The owners were fantastic and easy to deal with & even did their best to help when we had a small issue with the internet. I recommend this home for anyone, small or large group. Keep this property on your short list --- you will not be disappointed!

We absolutely LOVE this house! We had 3 adults and 4 kids and never felt like we didn't have enough space. The house is very well taken care of with great amenities. We had to bring ourselves and our bathing suits. We loved the outdoor shower that really cut down on the sand in the house, to name just one thing. The kids loved to feed the ducks in the canal or just watch the turtles and swans swim by. Oceanside Village is a nice clean, well cared for community that our family will definitely be visiting again. Thank you Sandie and Bob for everything. You made us feel like we were at home in your home.

In July we stayed at this wonderful house for the second time. The house was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Our favorite is breakfast on the screened in porch watching the ducks and swans. Sandie and Bob have the kitchen stocked with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed talking to their wonderful neighbor, Bill. He is always helpful with any questions you have. The guys enjoyed fishing from the surf and also rented a boat from Captain Dicks. The Conch was exceptional. We had to eat their twice. Visited Broadway at the Beach and our Granddaughter enjoyed the Garden City Pier. It is always such a wonderful place to stay. As long as Sandie and Bob rent this house, this is where we will stay whenever we are in Myrtle Beach.

We just spent the fourth of July week here, and had a wonderful time! This year we gave up staying ocean front and were not dissapointed with our choice at all. The house was very spacious, well set up and stocked. I would reccomend this rental to anyone. We stayed there with 5 teenagers (total of 7 people) and our 2 dogs and we were never crowded, and just really enjoyed the house!!!

We had a great vacation. The home was well equipped, clean and kid friendly. We brought our two year old daughter and our dog and both loved the house. It was nice to know there was always parking available at the beach.

We stayed at Sandie and Bob's house from 04/26/07-05/05/07. We've been coming to the Myrtle Beach area since 1989 and we must say that this probably was one of our best vacations ever. We had to give up a view of the ocean this year, but we didn't miss it with the canal behind the house. Screened in porch was great. We will definitely be back.

Barb and I just retired November 2006 and we spent four months at the Houston’s beach house, December 2006 through March 2007. Everything was as much or more than we even dreamed it would be. There were many great amenities, it was very clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. The neighbors, who mostly live there year round, were the greatest. For us, this was the first of hopefully many stays here for years to come. Oh yea, I must not forget to mention, Bob and Sandie Houston are the best; they truly care about you having a wonderful experience staying at their beach house.Thanks for this opportunity, Bob and Sandie.

If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay and bring your dog - this is it! Wonderful location, screened portch on the canal, quiet family community. We spen the week in July at this gorgeous home. The house was decorated beautiful with lighthouses, shells etc. It was very clean and spacious. The screened porch overlooking the canal was relaxing and enjoyable having our morning coffee watching the ducks and swans. It was wonderful for our one year old grandaughter. The home was well equipped right down to the savings cards for the grocery stores. The guys had a great time fishing off shore and renting a boat at Captain Dicks. We loved your neighbor Bill who was very helpful with restaurants, fishing bait, and any question we threw his way. The weather, beach, Conche Cafe were great. What a great place to vacation. We took 6 of us (2 adults and 4 teenagers) to this great house in Surfside Beach, SC. Great community and conviently located to everything we wanted to do...Golf, Beach, Grocery and resturants. We would go back there again in a heartbeat. The house was much better than the pictures. Beautiful. Everything we needed. Fully stocked kitchen. Nice washer/dryer. Nice dishwasher. A/C worked excellent. Nice hard wood floors, especially when you bring along your dog. Plenty of room for everyone. Quiet street, no traffic. No noise. Family oriented neighborhood. Rented a golf cart and had a blast driving to oceanfront parking lot. Visited the Conche Cafe. Wonderful! We loved it and will definitely be back again!

We spent the last week of June at your vacation home, and we loved every minute of it. My adult children and their children were with us and the screened in porch was great for my two year old grandson. We loved sitting in the screened in porch and watching the ducks and swans in the canal. The guys even did a little fishing. It was great that the sun shined on the porch in the morning and it was shady in the afternoon. We found that the home was very well equipped, clean and had plenty of room for our family of 10 with 1 infant. The weather was great the beach was great and Oceanside Village is great for families. We will be back.

We enjoyed a 2005 winter vacation at this spacious vacation home and enjoyed our stay very much. The weather in January and February was much like fall in Pennsylvania, and was quite pleasant. The home was very well-equipped and clean, and Oceanside Village is nicely located for shopping and access to the major roads.

We visited this vacation rental property at the end of July. We had a wonderful time. The house had a lot of space. We had 8 staying with us and we did not feel over crowded. The two big bedrooms were bright and cheery. The third was small and needed brightening up a bit, but is great for kids because of the bunk bed with full size underneath. The bathrooms were modern and clean. The kitchen is spacious and has everything plus more! What was a real treat, was the screened in porch overlooking the canal. We enjoyed having our breakfast every morning watching the birds, ducks, turtles and other wild life. Also it was great using the golf cart to go to the beach with gated access. We had no trouble finding a parking space. The pools were great. We enjoyed the outside one better, because it didn't echo with all the children having a great time. We highly recommend this rental. Bob and Sandie have really made you feel like you're at home.

It has been approx. 10 years since we have visited Surfside Beach and stayed in Oceanside Village. It is a wonderful community, peaceful, friendly, I had forgotten how much we had enjoyed it. This is our first stay at The Houston's home. Very comfortable, roomy , enjoyed it so much. Being able to bring our little dogs was a plus. Will recommend to others.

Some family from Philadelphia and our family from Orlando each drove halfway up the east coast and met in Surfside Beach at Oceanside Village. What a great week we had! The home is beautiful, in a great subdivision that is in close proximity to whatever you wish to do. My personal favorite was the private beach that was only a few minutes ride with the golf cart that was provided at the home. There are also two pools on the premises. All 9 of us, plus my brother's dog, had a wonderful week that was over way too soon. We all highly recommend vacationing in this beautiful location and want to thank Sandie Houston for the smooth handling of this rental.

Peaceful, serene, comfortable...yet close enough to all the Myrtle Beach activities! If you are looking to get away to relax, or to be close to the action, this is the place! This was our first visit to Myrtle and we'll certainly be back, staying HERE again!
