Our family stayed at this unit last month and we had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect and even though the water was still rather cold the kids had a blast in it because it was crystal clear. The Island Princess condos are in a wonderful location and is very close to both Destin & Ft Walton. The owners were very helpful, nice and flexible with their pricing so we were able to afford the place. We will definitely rent this unit again. Thank you.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We spent a week at this condo and enjoyed it completely! We found the condo clean, bright and full of sunshine. The view from the balcony is gorgeous and the beach is very nice. The availability of an umbrella and beach chairs is an added plus. The parking spot so close to the elevator makes it easy to load and unload. I know we will go back to this condo in the future! Thanks to the owners for so much valuable information about local sights and fabulous eating places!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Island Princess. This condo was lovely and the owners were very helpful in giving ideas of where to go for dinner and fun things to do. We all loved the bright beach colors and beach decor throughout the place. It was also very clean and we didn't have issues with anything. The location was perfect, and the complimentary beach chair service was a very nice plus as well. We'll definitely rent this condo again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed in this condo last week with my family. My grandfather had stayed at the Island Princess about 15 years ago, so he thought it would be a nice place to go again. We were incredibly disappointed with the condo upon arrival. The sink needs repair, the cabinets need repair, the blinds in the bedrooms are broken, and it was impossible to get the room dark so that my 3 year old could nap. The condo felt dirty, so we wiped everything down with Clorox wipes when we got there. There was mold around the tub in the master bath. The bed in the queen bedroom was like sleeping on a rock. So uncomfortable! Besides the interior of the condo being a let down, the grounds were ok, but I wouldn't walk around barefoot anywhere. But the area surrounding the condo looked very rundown. Not family friendly. Many old hotels/ motels that were eye sores and strip club down the street. My dad didn't even want me or my sister walking around to our cars alone. However, the worst part of our trip occurred on the last morning we were there when there was a meth lab explosion in a condo two doors down. We were awakened by the fire alarms and rushed outside to safety. The condo that had the meth explosion was apparently being watched for over a month, and they knew there was suspicious activity there. We overheard the police saying this. All week we had watched sketchy people go in and out of the condo. The fact that nothing was done sooner is ridiculous. The fire was put out quickly, but it could have been so much worse. I will never return to Okaloosa Island. This is not a family friendly place. I am sad that my dad and grandfather spent so much for us to have a fun family week, and we were so ready to leave by the end that we left early. We usually stay on 30-a and will definitely go back to 30-a next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/5

We have been vacationing annually in Ft Walton/Destin for the last 20 years. We've never stayed at a unit that was this this run down. The blinds in the 2nd and 3rd Bedrooms were broken and pieces of paper were inserted so that people could not see in; the door handles on the closet doors in the kid's bedroom were missing and had sharp screws sticking through the door. The queen mattress in the 2nd bedroom was terrible; providing no support at all. The sink in the kitchen had white enamel paint over the scrapes and chips out of it. To top it off; "Willa Merriot" management was terrible. Check out was 10am and the housekeeping people showed up at 8:30 wanting to know if they could start cleaning. We told them no; we would be out at 10:00. They returned again at 9:30 wanting to clean and were again turned away. I took most of our bags down to the car and returned to the room about 10 minutes till 10:00 to find the housekeeping staff in the unit, stripping beds and cleaning bathrooms. My family had retreated to the Master Bedroom and closed and locked the door. My wife was upset because housekeeping had let themselves in and refused to leave for her; my six year old was scared becasue people had come in uninvited and refused to leave. I had to STRONGLY INSIST that they leave immediately or I would call the police. Two of the housekeeping girls proceeded to yell at me and my family, swearing and making threatening gestures. This whole experience was a fiasco! I could overlook the disrepair in the unit .... but combined with the management .... It was a nightmare rental.Did you find this review helpful?
