The cabin at Laurel Springs was the perfect location for our family vacation to the Yellowstone area. We loved the quiet, beautiful setting; the amazing stars at night; the big horn sheep and elk that visited the yard; the easy drive to town and to Yellowstone. We all agreed that it was one of our best vacations ever!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at the Laurel Springs cabin for 4 nights in August 2012 while we visited Yellowstone. The cabin had everything we needed (including a cork screw), was super clean, and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. While we enjoyed the spectacular wildlife at Yellowstone, one of our best sightings was at the cabin, when we spotted a large group of bighorn sheep on the slope just behind the cabin - very cool! I am happy to recommend this cabin, and if we go back to Yellowstone next year, we will probably stay at the Laurel Springs cabin againRecommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This cabin was just what a travel weary family needed! We arrived at Laurel Springs late in the afternoon after a full day at Yellowstone. The cabin was incredibly clean and ready for us, and we were ready for it. After staying in several lodges in National Parks, this was by far the best lodging during our 3200 mile trek. The amenities at the cabin make it a true "home away from home". Our family was able to stretch out, enjoy the views from the porch, explore the mountainside, race marshmallows in the stream, and see an amazing display of stars. Never before have we been able to see the Milky Way so clearly with our naked eyes. The cabin is close to Yellowstone and Gardiner, yet when you get there you feel like you are away from it all. Great location, close to grocery store, whitewater rafting, hiking, restaurants and shopping. Our family would absolutely stay at the cabin again. Thanks for sharing such a great place with us.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We rented this cabin for 4 adults and 2 children and had a wonderful stay! We loved the drive home from Yellowstone NP each evening watching the mountains and the river and we loved the view of the stars each night. Our 3-year old loved making small "boats" to sail down the little spring creek out front. The house was well stocked with dishes, small appliances, linens and towels. We would have liked to have screens in the living room and front kitchen windows to cut down on bugs coming into the house, but that wasn't a huge deal. We had a large herd of elk and mountain goats that kept visiting the area and got some amazing photos. The nearby town of Gardiner was also a great part of our visit. We had some wonderful dinners out and the locals were very friendly whenever we stopped off to shop at the grocery store. We have future plans to rent this cabin again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Nice clean, roomy cabin. Having washer and dryer was a huge plus for us. Having no TV, internet or cell service was an even bigger plus!! Had a chance to really have some "down" time and reconnect with our teenage son before he headed back to college. Closest you can get to northern Yellowstone without staying inside the park. We headed to Lamar Valley and Hayden Valley every morning early to view the phenomenal wildlife (bears, wolves, elk, coyote, etc) and stayed until late at night so did little cooking at the cabin and saw very little wildlife around it. But the kitchen is well stocked with pots, dishes, etc. Look for the "hidden" wildlife in Yellowstone before 8:30am, then use the rest of the day for sights like Mammoth and Old Faithful, then at dusk back to wildlife viewing in the valleys. The park is huge, so an hour drive to something is not unusual. The cabin was a wonderful place to come back to every evening after a looonnggg day of wildlife viewing. Thanks so much, Kersten!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family and friends rented this cabin for a short vacation to Yellowstone. The cabin was very convenient to the park as well as to Chico Hot Springs. We were able to easily get up early go to Yellowstone, come home quickly and cook meals before my little one would be overtired! We also enjoyed the serene setting and friendly people in Gardiner.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The cabin is in a quiet, peaceful location. It was clean with an adequately equipped kitchen and comfortable beds with high quality linens. The bathrooms had lots of oversized, fluffy towels. This is a good location to explore the Mammoth/Tower/Norris areas of Yellowstone as well as the Paradise Valley. We would definitely choose the Cabin at Laurel Springs again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My husband and I grew up in Montana. Both our childhoods were filled with fishing, hiking, skiing, camping, horseback riding, and hunting. Our work has taken us around the world but we feel most at home in Montana, Big Sky Country. We currently live in Tucson, AZ and travel to our cabin 2-3 times a year.
Why the Owner Chose Gardiner:
The cabin provides us with an opportunity to share with our children the magic that is Yellowstone National Park and the quiet that comes with watching the deer rest 10 feet from the front door. We are only 4 minutes from the entrance of Yellowstone National Park and one and a half hours from an international airport. The cabin was built at the turn of the century and after we bought the cabin, we gutted the inside, kept the charm but added quality amenities a modern family requires. It was a fun family project.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin sits a quarter mile up the mountain from the Yellowstone river. There is a 360 degree view of the valley, most of which is either National Park or National Forest Land. The cabin is the only rental on the property and I keep the 11 acres natural so animals travel through the yard both in the summer and winter. The cabin is fortunate to suffer no light pollution and I can boast the best night sky gazing you will experience. You will find yourself spending evenings at the fire pit roasting marshmallows and staring at the stars.
