  From the initial inquiry to the check in/check out details to the few questions, the owner was prompt and friendly in all correspondence. The property is better than the photos with fantastic views and a wonderful kitchen. We even spotted several Bald Eagles around the lake. This great rental/home away from home made our month working in downtown Omaha. Highly recommended!

  I rented this vacation home for a "Christmas in January" celebration with my family. I am a former Omaha resident but now live in Seattle so I was a bit nervous making the accommodations for a place I'd never seen in person, but Stephen immediately put my mind at ease, answering all of my emails in a timely manner. The house is in a convenient location, very spacious, and has everything you need to feel right at home (pots, pans, towels, etc.). We just made a trip to the grocery store upon arrival and hunkered down for the next few days. After staying in this home I can't imagine having tried to do the gathering at a hotel. This option is the best value and the space allowed me to survive several days with my family and still come out smiling.

  We stayed here for 4 nights over Thanksgiving 2012. There were only 4 of us there all the time but we have kids in Omaha, as well as some extended family and wanted a place we could all get together (19 in all for dinner) and not be crunched into an apartment. The house was great and the floor plan was perfect for our Thanksgiving celebration. Plenty of room to spread out and the open kitchen allowed us to prepare the meal and socialize all together. The large kitchen island was perfect for serving the meal and the large table as well as the barstools at the island and other seating meant we could all be in the same room and eat! What a treat! Our only problem (and it was slight) was parking. 4 cars fit easily into the driveway but there was a lack of other parking. With the holiday, most of the neighborhood was also busy hosting get-togethers and one of the neighbors kept yelling at our guests for parking in what we thought was public parking across from the street from the home. We touched base with the other (much friendlier :) neighbor and asked her to let us know if any of our cars were inconveniencing them and we'd move them because we didn't want to put anyone out, but the first neighbor wasn't too friendly with us. We ended up taking a few cars about a half-mile away and shuttling the guests back to the house so we didn't cause any problems for anyone. Although it was a minor detraction and certainly not the owner's fault, I'm only mentioning it in case anyone else would need more than 4 parking spaces. Other than this minor problem, we found the location to be perfect. A wonderful, relaxing lake view... quiet.. and only minutes away from downtown Omaha. The house was clean and well-stocked. The view from the deck is beautiful and furnished with a large table and chairs that was perfect for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. You won't go wrong here if you are looking for a view and a place with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy! Thanks for a wonderful time!

  This home went above and beyond my expectations!! We rented it for a family reunion, with my brother and his family of 3. There were 7 of us total, and we have more than enough space to spread out and not drive each other crazy! We travel a lot and rent lots of homes, and this home was one of the most stocked homes I have ever rented. They had everything you could possibly need. Stephen was quick to respond to emails and so easy to work with. Renting this home has been a fabulous experience!! I agree with other comments, that the pictures do not reflect the openness and size. We were so surprised and happy!! If we are ever in Omaha again we will absolutely rent this again!!! So much better than a hotel!

  Stayed here with my parents and my son. Great weekend get away, wonderful lake view throughout the home. Very clean, great kitchen for cooking and being around family. Highly recommend.

  We enjoyed our stay at the house and it was very comfortable for a family gathering (7 adults and one toddler). The house was clean and had plenty of room for us all to spread out. We enjoyed the view of Carter Lake and watching the squirrels and ducks. The deck was a nice place to sit and visit in the afternoon sun. The location was perfect for trips to the Zoo and the Old Market area for some antiquing. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues (cupboard doors not staying closed). I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

  This home was amazing! As a family of 6 with three young children I was a little nervous about safety and cleanliness after a previous rental experience in Omaha, but Stephen answered all of my questions, and when I arrived I was immediately relieved. The house was clean and well maintained. There had been a bad hail storm shortly before we arrived, but we never would have guessed. The homeowners took care of getting the home cleaned and fixed up before we arrived - the only evidence of the storm was in other neighborhood homes under repair. The house sits right on the lake offering a wonderful view. Our kids loved watching the ducks in the morning and evening. The old market, downtown and the baseball stadium are also very close. I can not imagine a better home for our family to vacation in, and I look forward to future visits.

  We absolutely loved our stay at the Lake House! We enjoyed the view of the snow covered lake from the large windows in the living room! Absolutely stunning. We are a famliy of five and the house was more than accommodating. Also drove over to the ski resort in Iowa for the day! (About 30 minutes drive) Would definitely recommend this property for anyone staying in the Omaha area! Thanks for offering a great place to spend time away from home!

  3 of my friends and I just stayed at this house for opening weekend of the CWS last weekend. We were blown away by the size and beauty of this house. You have beautiful views of the lake no matter where you go in the house. It trult felt like home away from home!

  Our stay at the lake was was very enjoyable. The house is very clean, and had lots of room for us all to spread out. We really enjoyed the view of Carter Lake and watching the sunset over the lake in the evenings.
