If you get up early enough you might just see the tracks of female Giant Sea Turtle as she makes her way up the beach to lay eggs and then returns to the sea. Or hunt for that perfect shell as you stroll on the beach in the early morning breeze with your coffee in hand. The dolphins might just follow you as you walk along the beach. They love to frolic early in the morning.
Lounge under an umbrella while the kids build sandcastles and swim in the surf. Bring your fishing rods and catch your dinner...the whiting are great. Sip your wine and watch the sunset, while you rock in the big white rockers on any of the three decks.
Kids can hide away in their special room with bunk beds and tv.
Make snow angels in the sand under the incredible Milky Way at night. You can see more stars than you have ever dreamed. See the Big and Little Dippers and many more.
Build bonfires and roast marshmellows,and make smores.
Whether you love strolling on the white sugar beach or swimming in the private community pool, you can do it all here at Chunky Monkey.
Five houses share the 2 pools.
The master bedroom has a second floor balcony,king size bed, huge walk in closet,and private bath with double sinks, shower,and jacuzzi tub for 2.
There is a second bedroom on the second floor with a queen bed and private bath.
On the first floor there is another bedroom with a queen bed,and hall bath. The kids' room has 2 sets of bunk beds. The double mattress on the bottom of each is comfortable enough for adults. In the living room there is a pull out queen sofa.
In the open space of the great room there are tables to keep puzzles out, play card games,Trivial Pursuit, or the game of choice. There are tables and chairs to seat 14 for dinner, a 40' Flat screen tv in the living room with smaller flat screens in the bedrooms,wireless broadband internet,and phones to keep you in touch with the real world if necessary.
Scallop Cove Convenience Store,located across the street, provides lots of entertainment for the kids. My kids make 2-3 trips a day for ice cream, candy, you name it! I too find it convenient for that one little thing I forgot to get at the store. Fishing equipment and licenses are also available there.
Be sure to go scalloping down at the St. Joe Park in July. It is only a mile or two away.

We had a fantastic vacation at Chunky Monkey! The house is perfect and has everything you need. The pool is close, very clean and the kids loved it. The beach is a very short walk so it was easy to come back and have lunch or get a drink. The beach itself was beautiful and not crowded at all! We were able to have our large dog vacation with us and she loved the house and the beach as well. It was nice to have a beach that welcomed dogs. The house was beautiful inside and out. No complaints at all! Beds were comfy, kitchen had everything we needed, lots of space, fluffy towels, quiet and peaceful, super close to pool and beach! Susie was very pleasant to work with and very friendly and we are very happy she welcomes dogs since ours is a big part of our family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Chunky Monkey is a really nice house. While, for the most part, it was just me, my husband and dog, this home is really for families. It has four spacious bedrooms that would easily accomodate families and their children. Even with the 20 Spring Breakers (in fact they were very nice young adults) staying for one week next store, it was generally a quite area close to the BP station, when you need supplies. The pool is great place to go when it gets too windy on the beach. Very comfortable and had lots of dishes, pots and pans. It may be time to update a couple of the beds, wear and tear beginning to show. Alll in all, we had a great time, met great people and dogs on the beach and would recommend this place a good place to stay.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: For the new rental season the linens and some beds were upgraded. Sometimes it is better to upgrade after owners with pets leave. I have now implemented a new policy of no pets on furniture or beds. Thanks

Thank you for sharing your home with us! Our family loved Chunky Monkey! The house was perfect for our large family. the beach is beautiful and just a short walk away. the kids loved the pool and we could sit on the porch and keep an eye on them.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our family stayed at The Chunky Monkey over the 4th of July Week. It was everything the description said and more! We truly enjoyed the peace and serenity of the location in Cape San Blas. The location of the beach and pool were perfect. The house was great and had everything that we needed. We will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you Susie for sharing your home with us.
