Sand Island's Refuge is a unique cottage located on a privately owned island on North Carolina's central coast. The island is 32 acres of high dunes with a sandy beach on the north side and winding creek and salt marsh on the south. From this quaint cottage you will have spectacular views of the water and salt marsh. Relax, and really get away from it all. Grab a drink and a spot on the porch for the beautiful sunsets, this will become your favorite time of the day.

The cottage interior is tastefully appointed with locally milled solid pine walls, floors, and ceiling and is comfortably furnished. It is the only house on the island and was built with the environment in mind. Lots of windows, two double openings, and a full front screened porch let nature flow freely around you.
The house sits on a 15 foot cliff, facing the setting sun, with truly panoramic views.

This rental includes the use of a boat with outboard motor,
2 double kayaks, and an initial boat tour by a licensed captain to get you oriented to the area. This is a great area for kayaking, fishing, boating, and all sorts of water activities.
