Set in its secluded garden, about an one-hour easy drive from Lisbon, this sympathetically restored, 300-year-old house is an excellent base from which to explore the nearby castles and palaces of historic Sintra.
Our cheerful, spacious house has lovely sea and mountain views from most windows. Interesting walks are right on the doorstep and the nearest beach is just ten minutes away by car. There are several golf courses within easy reach.
By contrast, the nightlife of Estoril and Cascais is less than a 30-minute drive away. The area offers a wide choice of typical restaurants with the opportunity to sample freshly-prepared local specialties and fine wines.
This is our home-from-home and we have done everything to make it comfortable. The fireplaces, wood-burning stoves, and radiators help this house to be a cozy hideaway. Weekly maid service and easy parking.

We just returned to Wisconsin from the best rental, very clean, nice linen and firm beds. Well appointed, nice appliances and the views were marvelous. We will be back again probably next year since I would love to be there when the garden is in full bloom. The local village of Penedo is just wonderful, nice bar (Paulo) and next door the best lunch in the region...just a 5 min walk downhill.
Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Absolutely a marvelous place. We will be returning in the future. One of the most beautiful places we've ever been to. The accommodations are 5 Star and the village is charming. This is a good location to get to either beaches or tourist (churches & castles) sites while still being out of the way. Loved it.

Das ist ein ganz tolles und einzigartiges Haus. Es ist so liebevoll eingerichtet, dass einem viele Details erst nach einigen Tagen auffallen. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt und konnten richtig entspannen. Der Pool war für unsere Kids genau das richtige, da nicht allzu tief. Übrigens, es war alles supersauber. In jedem Fall empfehlenswert!
