In 1865, the first Trans-Atlantic cable linking North America and Europe was completed. Heart's Content, a tiny fishing village on Newfoundland's Trinity Bay, was chosen by Cyrus Field as the western terminal of the cable, thus ushering in a new era of global communication.
Today, the town is still a fishing port, although the cable has since been deactivated. Come visit and enjoy the beauty of Newfoundland's historic outport!
