Good, not great

Older than it looks. Two great master bedrooms. Two very modest single bedrooms. Not nearly enough TVs. Watch out for the brick retaining wall. Georgie was very helpful. Great washer/dryer. Dangerous stairwell -- part of it has NO RAILING on one side, so kids could get hurt. Wallpaper peeling. Not enough seating in either living area. Great woodshed full of dry wood. Only one trash receptacle for 10 people for a week.

Wonderful Three Generation Holiday Spot

We had the pleasure of staying here over the recent Christmas holiday. "We" was my husband and myself, our two adult daughters and their husbands, my mother and my daughter's two dogs. The house was spacious and well equipped, though sharper knives in the kitchen would have been appreciated by the cooks in the family. The beds were comfy, the linens soft and the showers had hot water. The hot tub was wonderful after days of hiking! Wood was available but we did not take advantage of the fireplace. We appreciated the addition of the Christmas tree and enjoyed the lights; the welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch. The stereo system was not in good working order (we were told this on arrival) and the one small problem with the washing machine was quickly remedied. Georgina was helpful from our first contact and graciously met us at the house an hour before check-in when we mis-judged our arrival time. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the house yet took advantage of the ease with which we could get to Asheville or the local grocery store. The house was a perfect place for our "far-flung" family to gather for the holiday.

What a wonderful spot! The house is so well stocked, comfortable and a terrific open layout. It worked out perfectly for our families and the kids loved the decks. We enjoyed morning coffee in the gazebo overlooking the valley. We so enoyed Asheville and the surrounding areas.....Sliding Rock, Max Patch, the Biltmore and Chimney Rock. Meals at Laughing Seed, Bouchon, Tupelo Honey Grill. Sunset from Grove Park Inn was spectacular. Thanks so much

This house was perfect for our family Thanksgiving get-away. We had 6 people in the house and it was so comfortable. Cooking was lots of fun in the spacious kitchen, the hot tub was clean and warm on the cool nights. Although a challenge to find at first, the location is nicely out of the way of the city, but close enough that doing things wasn't a chore. We had a little trouble with the upstairs tv and stereo system, but it wasn't a problem, the down stairs has a nicer tv, and the owner helped with the stereo system. The bathrooms are a little dated but clean (not great water pressure). We enjoyed going into Asheville and of course seeing the Biltmore Estates and village. Antler Village was also nice. We went to the Western Carolina Nature Center one afternoon and the Arboretum as well...Good grocery stores close by and good restaurants too. I would definitely recommend this property.

Ideally located so we could have the Asheville experience as well as the peace and quiet of the woods. Plenty of room inside and out for grandchildren, dog, as well as several adults. Breakfasts on the gazebo with birdsong; a hot tub on one of the two enormous decks; lovely views of the forest and the mountains beyond; John, the gracious owner nearby; Twelve Bones Barbecue not too far away; Spashville even closer-this was the perfect vacation retreat!

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. We had a wonderful stay and the accommodations were perfect. Everyone went home renewed and rested. We loved the two living areas and the children enjoyed the porches.
