East Hampton Village, Charming, Spacious, and Convenient
- Minimum stay:Contact owner
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Especially charming, large 1920's home in the heart of East Hampton village. Mediterranean blue-gray heated gunite pool with adjoining brick patio and hot tub. Lounge chairs and umbrellas, direct sunlight all day. The house is cheerful and comfortable, with tasteful country antiques and farmhouse furnishings. Very suitable for families, or couples who want guests (no group rentals, however). Beautiful garden and patio furniture provided. Outdoor shower next to the pool and hot tub.
One and a half blocks to gourmet food and vegetable shops for morning coffee, newspaper, prepared food, and groceries. Two blocks to village center, including Jitney stops, train station (with transportation to New York City) and movie theatre. Less than 1 mile to ocean beach. Bicycles available. Main Street location allows walking or biking everywhere. Backyard completely fenced in. Will consider pets on a case by case basis.
Available with the rental is the use of a car with stickers (parking passes) for both town and village beaches, a very unusual bonus since this allows parking at all the most exclusive and least crowed beaches. (Without a resident sticker, only one ocean beach is available to non-residents, and non-resident stickers sold-out in early spring.)
Cozy and comfortable for fall and winter rentals: large living room fireplace, large cook's kitchen with restaurant stove, lovely dining room for family gathering, century old trees on the property. Roomy bedrooms with new mattresses (5th bedroom maid's room size, though). All bedrooms have an individual bathroom and some bathrooms with original clawfoot tubs from the 20's. Extensive library and great spots for reading as well tv/dvd viewing (tv in living room and 3 bedrooms).

As soon as I walked in the door I felt at home. The beautiful rustic antiques and folk art looked like what I'd want in my own home. Each room is flooded with light at some time of the day and the sun porch has windows on 3 sides so it's always cheery. The huge couches in the living room facing a roaring fire are the perfect place to be on a chilly day. As a former professional chef, I found the kitchen stocked with everything needed for a fine meal. When we didn't want to cook, it was a short walk to Citarella. Our stay was in the early spring so we weren't able to try out the pool. The internet was fast, the property clean and the owners were incredibly helpful when we had some difficulty finding the house. I have recommended this property to friends and family.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I rented this home with a group of friends for about 2 months during the summer of 2012. The house is charming and well-maintained, with a lovely pool and backyard. Its proximity to the town of East Hampton (about 8 minutes' walk time to the main street) cannot be beat. The inclusion of a car with an East Hampton beach sticker was also tremendously valuable. All bedrooms were well air-conditioned, the kitchen well-appointed, and the living spaces were comfortable and inviting. The owners were tremendously helpful and communicative from start to finish. All in all, a wonderful experience!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This house is delightful and besides being very well- located, is well-appointed and comfortable in many ways that rental houses are usually not. The furnishings are all attractive and pleasant; the linens and towels are nice; there are plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc. In fact, the kitchen is great—the restaurant stove is a treat. The overall effect is of a very comfortable, welcoming, environment, that’s not too personal, but not impersonal (i.e. hotel-like) either. It’s got taste and style, but there aren’t a lot of the owners’ personal stuff around (except lots of great books—adult and children’s). Anyway. We were delighted because we have rented some houses that looked great on the outside or well located well, but inside the furniture, paintings or bedspreads were so ugly that it was a drag. Also, the house has great light. The pool is particularly nice—it’s gunite, not plastic, and looks almost Mediterranean—again, there’s a level of taste here that you don’t often get. So though the house is more old-fashioned than some (e.g. claw-foot tubs, though some bathrooms are have showers, and there’s a great outdoor shower), the owners seem to have made the most of the vintage they were working with (1920’s? 30’s). Definitely would work well for families and groups of friends- or holidays. Like I said, lots of dishes, etc. and a big dining room. An added bonus: the owners are really nice, responsive, and friendly. We had no problems, but whenever we had questions, they were on it very quickly, and things moved smoothly throughout.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This is a home away from home: cozy, comfortable, spacious and inviting. Just a few of the many good things that come to mind: the pool and deck are delightful, the beds are great, the showers have nice water pressure. For those who like to read, many, many books line the rooms' bookcases across a wide span of subject matters. The car with beach parking permit was an added bonus. The owners are very sweet people. The rental logistics were smooth sailing. Our family already is asking when we're going back. Thank you again for a great weekend.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Tastefully decorated, comfy (and plentiful!) bedrooms, a large kitchen, and a great pool and hot tub. Within easy walking distance of town and a short drive to the beach, the house is the perfect get-away rental. I'd recommend for both short-term stays and longer-term rentals -- it's the kind of place you can really settle in to and enjoy. I'd easily rent again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
