Sorrento bed and breakfast description
In the wonderful Sorrentine Coast, overlooking the same panoramic way to Positano and Amalfi, really characteristic rooms and apartments find place in a nice ‘800 palace.
The charming antique building blends with the modern style of all renewed rooms and apartments in order to offer our guest the accommodation prefered: one room or two roomed apartment or a bright and ample apartment with private garden, all endowed with any equipment.
Let you be enchanted by landscape that smells of orange and lemon and that offers a natural show of thousand colours of the Sorrentine Peninsula: from the blue of the sea, which can be seen from the rooms’ windows of our residence, and above all from the beautiful solarium-terrace, to the light blue of the sky; from the yellow of the lemons, to the green of our garden that surrounds the whole building and that will offer you the opportunity to relax and breath the characteristic scent of citrus plants.
Thanks to its favourable position, quite and central al the same time (5 minutes to the sea and 10 minutes to Sorrento), you can easily reach the famous Positano in 15 Km or the wonderful Capri by hydrofall in 20 minutes, or mythical Pompei in half an hour by car or by train.
Allow yourself a holiday with us, cuddled by our friendly, we will let you enter a world of colours, tastes and smells of our great tradition!

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights in June and we were very impressed. Stefania was an amazing hostess, very friendly and helpful and she was able to give us several ideas of things to do in the area, including a fun local dinner/dance at a farm that was just down the street. The room as nice - it had a queen size bed as well as a twin bed w/ a trundle bed underneath, which would be great for kids. There was plenty of room for us, and we were happy to have our own bathroom and kitchen. It was clean, well kept and quiet. This was a great place, we would definitely recommend it. and we hope to come back someday!

Some people may find this an enjoyable holiday destination, but for us the location was on a steep location above the town of Meta and at least 5 kilometres from Sorrento and access to the Amalfi Coast. To get to and from train and bus transport in Meta itself was a good half to 1 kilometre walk utilising busy and steeply sloping roads and stairs. The promises by the owners of pick ups on arrival and departure did not eventuate and our first introduction to the site was a walk with luggage of 3/4 of a kilometre at least up a steeply inclined road with very busy traffic. Our room at the top of the facility was again only reachable using steep flights of stairs and while clean was poky and had no outlook. Frames of at least two of the small windows were not firmly affixed to the wall and the outside furniture we were directed to was ricketty and falling apart. From our experience, we could not recommend this accommodation.

We rented this property thinking we were just a few minutes from Sorrento . Not the case . It's a walk down a steep hill to the bus or a longer walk down a steeper hill to the train . We rented thinking there was internet service and couln't get it for days . There was a stove and a toaster oven but neither one worked and they got angry when we told them because they said we should have told them sooner , but we were busy the first 2 days and never tried to use them . They would not take responsibility for them not working and kept blaming us for not telling them sooner . We told them it was there responsibility to have them in working order. It was clean and Stefania was a very nice person but wouldn't work with us in our complaint .

Nice stay during our amazing Italy trip
Nice stay during our amazing Italy trip
Casa Stefania is a rental located in Meta near Sorrento. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the train station and another 10 minute train ride to Sorrento. The train can also bring you the other way to Pompei or Naples and everywhere in between. The accomodations are nice but I think a few items could have been better and I'm sure the Owners are working on bringing the best quality service possible. I'd recommend a room in the rear of the property as the street is a little busy at times. There is a nice covered area where you can sit, relax and have a glass of wine outside. Also, across the street is a nice bakery. I think the price is right for the location and the Owners are trying their best. Enjoy!

Stefania Residence was disappointing. My adult daughter and I spent four nights here. The walk to the META train station is 20 minutes, not 10, therefore, 30 minutes to reach Sorrento. The pictures reflect an ocean view, possible only from the corridor windows on the top floor. Only the top floor end unit can possibly have this view. Air conditioning is extra ( as in many places in Italy) this web site is misleading. Our room had maintenance problems. The shower drainage was very slow and our bathroom sink leaked. When I mentioned it to Stefania she said I should just place a bucket under the sink and remove the top part of the shower unit. She explained it was Saturday and impossible to get it taken care of. The place had cobwebs, the walls were scuffed. When I tried shutting the window, part of it came off the hinges. The lemon garden needs attention, lemon trees and patio plants were dry and needed weeding. The patio furniture was adequate, however, when I sat down, ants were all over the chair. International students from Rome and Florence were the only other guests. They complained about a lack of hot water and an impossible internet connection. Walls are thin, so we heard them when they came in at 1:30 a.m. two nights in a row. It reminded me of Spring break in the US. I mentioned this to Stefania and her mother, they shrugged it off, saying, well, we tell them to be quiet, it's just that we have too many guests. The worst part is that Stefania was not around when we needed her. She was not home during the morning and evening hours. I posted notes on her door on two separate ocassions. Others had this same complaint. The door bell to her apartment was broken, exposed wires hanging from the wall. The door knob to her front door was broken, just placed on the surface. Going to Pompeii, Hercaleum, Naples and Sorrento not a problem from this location. However, if you add a bus ride and/or ferry it all adds up, 90 minutes later you are on the ferry, 120 minutes later, you reach your destination. The bakery and bar across the street was wonderful. Fresh baked goods warm from the oven each morning and reasonably priced. The garden patio there was pleasant. I have visited 10 countries in Europe, toured Asia and US. This was my third trip to Italy, I have never been more disappointed.

Owner response: The lady and her adult doughter made a mistake booking my rental as they intend to stay closer to some of their frinds; as soon as they arrived here, they realize the distance and ask me money back as was not what expected due to their own error! ( of course she was not supposing this as her error, she was saying that there is no map and no address on this web site....) I was saying that if intend to go was ok, but was not allowed to ask money back ecpect for problems concerning the unit booked;..... my last error!!! to save her own money she decided to stay, and decided to tease me and causes troubles...blocking the sink as well as the shower with their long dark hair, leaving bananas skin into the garden to attract ants, slamming door and windows, screaming with some other guests who though she was crazy and so on but above all what make me lose my temper was mentioning that I was no there since she came to knock at my door 10 times per day, disturbing at any time, like 7.00 in the morning or after midnight or at siesta time awaking my kids just for information, and just once I was not cause went to a wedding party (my mum was there instead of me) she was saying that firsth of all I had to take care of my guests, (she only wanted some salt and oil for her salad....); she could not understand that I also have a life with my family! at the end what she could not deny is that this is a great departure point to discover all the beauty around, coming by car as weel as by train, around 35% cheapper than the other place and more freindly welcome but she did not suppose this!!
We had a great time thanks Stefania

Very relaxing, Stefania and her family are lovely people and very attentive. Stefania helped us with a mini cruise around capri (stopping off in Positano) for a wonderful price. There's a great bakery accross the street (that our teenage boys loved). Getting to Sorrento by train is pretty easy, just a short scenic walk down the hill. There's also a nice little farm down the street that we visited for some fruit, I hear their dinner is a lot of fun but we ended up in Sorrento each night.

Bianca and I were looking for a romantic stay on or around Sorrento and found this beuatiful place situated up in the hills overlooking the bay. Very neat/clean and spacious. When conjuring an image of the area this is where you start. Stefania went above and beyond as host going so far as recommending a local scooter rental and picking us up at the train station. Scooters are the way to get around town and great fun. Try the winding road along the water to Amalfi. We would recommend Casa Stefania to any and all who are looking for a wonderful place to stay.

Our family and extended family stayed at this vacation rental. We were warmly welcomed with fresh lemonade. This place had lots of spots to sit and relax and was very clean and comfortable. We were close to the train station and were able to travel to various spots. We also found a great connection with a car in Pompeii that tooks us on a coastal tour. If you are in this area and want a great place to stay this is the place.

Why the Owner Chose Sorrento:
Sorrento is situated 50 meters above sea level, on a tuff bank overlooking the Gulf of Naples, surrounded by deliciously perfumed citrus and olive groves. The warm climate, the splendid scenario, the places of historic and archaeological interest and the famous tradition of good wines and gastronomy make the Sorrento peninsula one of the ideal destinations for a holiday dedicated to well-being, pleasure and relaxation. Because of the central position of Sorrento in respect of other places of considerable interest to tourists, you can make pleasant trips, with short and convenient journeys, to Pompey and Paestum, Capri and Ischia, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.
The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
Casa Stefania Residence is characterized not only by comfort and services, but also by the warm hospitality, cordiality and welcoming atmosphere that makes its guests feel at home.
