Our 125 year old home is located in a quiet, desirable, historic neighborhood just a 2 block stroll to the Saratoga Racecourse or the city's lively downtown full of unique shops, a wide variety of restaurants, live music, art and history.
Located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, Saratoga Springs is a year round destination. In addition to the 6 week Racecourse season where some of the finest thoroughbred racing has been taking place for over 100 years we enjoy many museums, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center,Skidmore College, wonderful theater & music and an abundance of outdoor activities.
We have been renting and exchanging our home for over 20 years. Since we are vacation renters ourselves we know what makes vacationers happy. Our kitchen is well appointed, the beds are comfortable,the linens ample,nice furniture and attention to detail right down to the hook-up for your iPod! You'll enjoy our classic Saratoga porch for cocktails and the screened in porch for summer dining.
A short drive will have you in "the Queen of Lakes", Lake George, or stay in town and make an evening of it by attending the Jazz Fest, NYC Ballet, Opera, Philadelphia Orchestra a rock concert or an evening at the oldest coffehouse in the U.S., Caffe Lena.The community supports many artists who love to share their work with visitors in a wonderful variety of venues.
The drive from the south to Saratoga Springs through the historic Hudson River Valley is a treat not to be missed. A designated National Heritage area, the Hudson is one of America's 14 great rivers. The area enjoys world class arts and cultural attractions including lighthouses, mansions, museums, performing arts centers, waterfalls, president's and artists homes and numerous historic houses.
Hiking & watersports are within easy reach of our home as are day trips to Lake Placid or other Adirondack attractions though we think you won't want to leave. Should you wish to stay here as "home base" we are only 3 hrs. from Montreal, New York City & Boston.

We have lived in our year round home in Saratoga Springs for 26 years. We were immediately attracted to the location and style of this house and it has served us well. We are fortunate to live in such a fun and desirable destination and continue to enjoy all Saratoga has to offer both residents and visitors alike.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Aside form the spacious and comfortable space our home has to offer the number one feature is probably its location. One can walk and ride bikes everywhere. We are literally a 5 minute walk to the most popular sites in town yet still enjoy a quiet friendly neighborhood with wonderful restaurants, shopping, cultural venues, Skidmore College and of course the tracks and horse show arenas. Walk down the street in the morning with your cup of coffee to watch the horses train, play all day and go see a concert or Ballet at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center at night. You won't be able to see and do it all which is one of the reasons visitors tend to return to Saratoga again and again. We're happy to point you in the right direction as there are activities to suit all tastes and we know where to find them. We are also experienced home exchangers should you wish to explore that avenue with us, it's a wonderful way to travel.

Linda and Russ have had a variety of careers and are currently focusing on some different projects. Russ has shelved his Landscape Architectural practice to pursue music and his unusual style of sculpture while gnawing his way through our local library. Lin is engaged in fundraising,slow food, local theater and politics and an eclectic mix of activity including finding new ways to meet interesting people like renting via vrbo!

This classic Saratoga Victorian is ideally located within walking distance of the track, downtown attractions and restaurants while set on a quiet side street just off charming Union Avenue. Lin and Russ are gracious, helpful and hilarious hosts and owners. The house is roomy, nicely decorated, has a great kitchen and is spotlessly clean. We’ve stayed at this great property several times in different seasons and each visit has been perfect. We’ve attended graduations at Skidmore, horse sale events, orchestra performances and even a family wedding in Saratoga. We love sitting on the front porch for drinks and eating outside on the screened side porch when not sampling one of Saratoga’s numerous restaurants. The days were sunny and the nights cool and comfortable for our family from Washington, DC. We look forward to staying again sometime in the future. The off- street parking and proximity to the track were especially appreciated on busy track days. Thanks for being such helpful hosts, Lin and Russ.

This house has personality and comfort - it is large, gracious and spacious - we loved it - all the creature comforts and the absolute best location - within easy walking distance of the track and town - a lived in home with all the benefits but as clean as a hotel room at the W - just the best - we felt at home and at ease - a wonderful place to see Saratoga from and to come home to each evening - a lovely experience - we recommend it highly and look forward to future visits.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Thanks to Russ and Lin for the great stay last summer. Their great artwork and musical household kept us entertained. We re-booked for the same weekend this year! We were able to walk down town and listen to live music and catch a late bite to eat. The breakfast was comfortable with loads of laughs and set us up for the day of museums and had an afternoon hike just a short drive away . We spent the last day at the Race Track and donated a few bucks but had a great time! We love our annual low key getaway spot!! thanks again
