Longer day trips can take you to Biarritz--the seaside destination of choice for royals past and present; or the paleolithic cave paintings at Lascaux; explore the heart of Basque country in Pau; or cross the border into Spain and experience the paella and spectacular nightlife in San Sebastian. Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2006
I had the opportunity to live in Bordeaux for 7 months in 2004-2005, and fell in love with the city, the region, and the lovely people who live here.
When I arrived, I spoke only very basic french, and did very poorly at it in school. However, I learned very quickly being here. Bordeaux is a great place to learn the language! Most people speak just a little english, and once you've reached the limits of your french (and their english) they don't give up! Almost everyone is friendly, happy, and patient in wanting to and trying to have a conversation.
Why the Owner Chose Bordeaux
After living here in 2004-2005, I wanted to find a way to make Bordeaux (and France) a part of my life. Now I get to share my love of this wonderful place with others! Life here is very very sweet. I hope you'll come and experience the "joie de vivre" of the Bordeaux.

Bonjour! We have enjoyed our stay at Rue Ruat very much. Thanks to you Angela for your very organised instructions. Bordeaux is so gorgeous! We loved being so close to everything, including the Bordeaux Language school where our daughter is studying French. A bus tour to Saint Emilion region is very well worth the trip--absolutely fascinating. Loved the french bread, french fashion and french sleep-ins! The architecture is beautiful and I was very impressed with how well kept the buildings are here in Bordeaux--a credit to the area. The strawberries we are were the tastiest we've ever eaten! Loved the Ralph Lauren bed linen Angela-Thanks-a classy touch. Au Revoir and thanks for all the lovely memories.

Bordeaux is the most amazing city I have ever spent time in -- so open, so green and so welcoming. We took several walks in the area (balisés) which were just fascinating, captivating. Thanks Angela for all your help and understanding.
