Hurricane Ike has caused significant damage to the neighborhood. Luckily, Southern Comfort faired well with damage mainly limited to the area below the house. We have replaced the garage and the outdoor shower. There was some damage to the kitchen floor, so we went ahead and replaced the kitchen floor and the countertops, so the pictures shown are a bit outdated.
Come experience Southern Comfort's incredible views and relax to the sound of the surf. Enjoy the views from nearly every room in the house. Hang out on the main deck (with sun in the morning, shade in the afternoon), or the side deck (shade in the morning, sun in the afternoon).
Prefer the beach? You are just a short walk away. When you are finished with the beach, clean up in the outdoor hot/cold shower.
Enjoy your privacy? Southern Comfort is located between a private cul-de-sac to the West and an open lot extending to the beach to the East.
The newly refurbished decks will provide parents a piece of mind, with a latching gate at the top of the stairs and closely placed balusters to avoid injury.
We have spent to past four years updating Southern Comfort to make it as enjoyable as possible. With new furniture in the family room, new carpet and window coverings throughout, updated fixtures and bathrooms, new roof and new exterior paint, this beach house is truly our pride and joy.

We live in Houston and wanted a getaway that was close enough to visit on short notice but far enough to be a true getaway. The location is perfect ... just over one hour away, but a world away from the day-to-day pace of Houston.

Whether you are in the house, on the deck or on the beach, the views of Gulf of Mexico and the sounds of the surf are sure to relax you. We especially enjoy boogie boarding and kayaking in the surf. If you are a bocce player, bring your bocce set for a great game on the beach. And at night, break out the flashlights and try your hand at sand crab hunting! And when you are done at the beach, enjoy our incredible oversized outdoor shower.
