Location: Venice, Veneto, Italy, Europe View Map

Accommodations:  Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

This original apartment was planned by an architect in a quiet lane close to one of the main streets in Venice, within Campo San Polo - one of the most famous and large squares in Venice - and it is 5 minutes walk from the famous RIALTO BRIDGE.

In Campo San Polo there is the "Querini Dubois Palace" an excellent example of Venetian Renaissance architecture, today used as a cultural Centre also for the Film festival organization. During that event in September, St. Polo’s square becomes a moving picture theatre every evening. The apartment is really only a few minutes walk from the public water bus (called "vaporetto" line 1 SAN STAE), and it is situated near Rialto, the oldest area of Venice historic centre in a centuries old building, on the first floor.

The entrance is through an independent door and stairs used by two apartments, with earthenware floor and original wooden beam ceilings. It offers very easy access to all the city attractions (only a short walk (15 min. - to St. Mark’s square!). Moreover, in the same district you can find "Basilica dei Frari" a wonderful church full of historical vestiges, including Canova’s grave.

The apartment is perfect for a couple on a romantic holiday, as it offers warmth, privacy, and the comfort of the most central position you could wish for! But also, the apartment can be the perfect, comfortable and convenient base to explore Venice's beauty and discover its alleys, canal, sights - restaurants, bars and Bacari or osterie (characteristic and historic Venetian wine bars with daily SPRITZ. Meeting place where it is possible to eat small fried food and have a chat with friends or even strangers).

Shop and market are round the corner and just in a few steps you are at the fish market "La Pescaria" famous all over the world (fish, fruit and vegetable). Moreover, only in a short distance from the apartment, you can find some of the most typical and characteristic Venetian restaurants, very interesting for the various gastronomic proposals and for the different service and rates, such as: DA FIORE, one of the most exclusive restaurants in Italy, suitable to very high standard dinner; ANTICHE CARAMPANE, Venetian cuisine, high level, very quiet in a charming corner, VECIO FRITOLIN an old and marvellous tavern in Calle della Regina (Rialto), meeting place for artists and, in a short way away close to them, AL NONO RISORTO for a dinner in the garden; in Campo St. Polo BIRRARIA LA CORTE pizza-restaurant and characteristic Venetian cuisine. While, for visitors of the Biennal Exhibition gardens, AL DIPORTO at St. Elena’s island offers typical dishes and is attended by Venetians.

    • What an amazing place to stay. Everything was so close to the apartment that we could walk everywhere and if not the water taxi was only 5 min.away. We would highly recommend this apartment for location as well as for the apartment itself. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was perfect. Very quite also so you can get the sleep that you need to explore the amazing city of Venice. We would love to go back and stay there again. Enrico was a very good host with lots of information about the area and things to see and do. Thank you very much for the CD and Balsamic vinegar.

    • Excellent apartment in a quiet area of Venice. Everything is so close to this place (do not let the map deceive you). Enrico and his friend Claudio met us at the vaporetto stop and helped us with our luggage to the apartment. Enrico is extremely friendly and meticulously organized with the workings of the apartment, recommendations for food, sightseeing, etc. We kind of felt like Venetians during our brief stay. Oh, there is a great little shop around the corner that sells great meats, breads, wine, beer, etc. Will try to come back in the near future.

    • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apartment, which has every convenience you need. It was our third visit to Venice and definitely the most comfortable and most central location. We only needed to use one vaporetto ride [which are very expensive], on the first evening. We walked everywhere easily. The local area is very safe to walk around even at night, very nice and way cheaper than the San Marco area. Antica Birraria in San Polo and the cafes in the Campo's Dei Frari, Santa Margherita and San Barnaba are great. Supermarkets are close too. Enrico gave us plenty of good information and a warm welcome, even though our flight came in very late. He even took us to the local pub!

    • Wow! Venice was fabulous but nothing compared to our wonderful host Enrico! Enrico welcomed us to his home as if we were family, encouraged us to call him if there were any challenges or difficulties or we simply got lost in Venice (which we did but it was fun finding our way back). Meeting people like Enrico makes traveling so worthwhile! The apartment was fabulous, clean and quiet! It was in a great location for enjoying all of the nightlife and delicious restaurants that Venice had to offer. It was a managable and entertaining walk to St. Mark's square and everything else that Venice had to offer. When we come back we will definently visit Enrico's place again and recommend it to all of our friends and family!

    • We stayed for one week in July at this well located apartment. Enrico's cousin waited for us graciously at the vaporetto stop even though we were almost one hour late. Enrico stocks the pantry with enough food for a couple of meals, and other staples. You may reach Enrico on the land phone that is in the apartment. There is a well stocked library of travel and other pleasurable books for your perusal. The washing machine is a plus, as well as the blue shower. There are two fans which helped during the hot weather.

    • August 6, 2009: Vinay and I arrived in beautiful Venice. Enrico was waiting for us when we disembarked from the waterbus. I knew at that moment that we were in good hands. Enrico showed us how to get to his beautiful apartment that we were so lucky to have for one glorious week. Enrico and his wife (she was waiting at the aprtment for us)explained Venice to us in such great detail that we felt that we have been there forever. I love Venice....so many things to do and not enough time. Enrico and his lovely wife gave us a DVD of the carnival that is so very popular in Venice. We watched this upon our return to the states and were rather sad because our vacation was over. Enrico and his lovely wife also gave us a bottle of balsamic vinegar....I use this all the time. It is the best. I found the website that sells this yummy vinegar but I can not make out what it says (it is in italian). I could ramble on forever about Enrico, his wife, the beauty of Venice and the lovely apartment but I won't. All I have to say to anyone who is thinking about going to Venice is that you should contact Enrico and stay at his apartment. You will not regret it. I hope to venture back to Italy in the near future and Enrico will be the one I call when I am in Venice. Ciao, Connie and Vinay-Arizona, USA

    • If you want to spend a wonderful time in Venice, Enrico's apartment is ideal for you. It is located in a narrow street in Santa Croce quarter, so living there you can feel as a real Venetian. Enrico is a very helpful and gentle person, his knowledge about Venice, its restaurants, shops, neighbourhoods is priceless. The apartment is very well equipped and very pleasant in hot summer days. I lived there one week with my wife and we are sure we will be back in this place some day.

    • We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this cosy flat. Enrico anticipates all his guests' needs. We enjoyed living in a friendly neighborhood with all conveniences nearby. All our dealings with Enrico were a pleasure. When we return to Venice we will definitely stay in one of his properties.

    • The only thing nicer than the apartment is Enrico, himself. We, too, got a magnificent tour of the "vicino" with "points of reference" so we could find our way back to the flat after a night out! Enrico also took us to the Rialto mercato and introduced us to his friends there as well as the Ristorante al Ponte Storto (highly recommended!) where we ate that night. The flat is perfect size for a couple, with very workable kitchen and king-size "letto matrimoniale". We also found it most convenient, walking distance to everywhere, and close to both San Stae and San Silvestro vaporetto stops. I would definitely stay here again, and have recommended it to friends.
