We found the peace and quiet we were looking for. We had planned on doing a lot of activities but we were so relaxed we just lazed around. We took walks around the property which is beautiful with the wildflowers and the streams winding through them, sat on the porch drinking coffee and watching the hummingbirds and the cows and listened to the sounds of nature. The house had everything we needed and more. We did not even miss the tv or phone. We took long drives and stopped at some Amish farms and a bakery. We cooked,we ate, we read books,we walked and talked and just relaxed and listened to the quiet. We have always stayed in busy, loud tourist areas when on vacation, no more. Thank you for sharing God's gift with us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Glad you enjoyed the place as much as we do. You're welcome anytime. Henry

My husband and I stay here twice yearly, spring and fall. We enjoy the peace and calm. The house is cozy and the land is stunning. There's nothing like having coffee on the porch as the sun rises over the pasture. There is no signal, so don't bother to bring your cell phones or lap tops. Just enjoy the total peace and quiet. Do bring flea and tick spray, the ticks are active. Just be aware! The only complaint I have is that the wood stove is gone. I spent hours at that wood stove, I really hope they bring one back. Otherwise, this place is like heaven on earth!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Glad you love and enjoy the land as much as Marth and I. Sorry about the wood stove but the insurance corporation left us no choice. The electric fireplace is a poor substitute but we had no choice. Henry

Once a year I spend the weekend here with my good friends. Everything you need is in the house, but we spend alot of our time sitting on the front porch, talking, laughing, drinking coffee, drinking beer, grilling out, and watching the hummingbirds. We also go canoeing on the beautiful Kickapoo River which is close by. One of my favorite things to do is take an early morning walk, enjoying the beautiful scenery and listening to nothing but the quiet. The only thing I don't like about it... is when I have to leave. It's a great place and a beautiful area to visit. I always look forward to coming back again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+.
