Here's what our guests have been saying... "A wonderful retreat!" "Classy, sophisticated, and well-maintained." "Thoughtful design and accoutrements." "Stunning yard!" "The view is unmatched." "The opportunities to have a terrific stay are endless."
Located on Park Point, our Carriage House is just twelve blocks from Duluth’s city center, six blocks from the Aerial Bridge, and a short beach walk from Canal Park.
Lake Superior and five miles of sandy beach sit at your doorstep, perfect for beachcombing, sandcastles, and keeping an eye on ship and boat traffic. Runners, walkers, rollerbladers and bikers love Park Point for its even terrain and eclectic mix of architecture, and when the snow flies, put on your snowshoes or cross country skis and head out on a scenic trek along the lakeshore. Or, settle in to a comfortable armchair and watch the surfers, kayakers and windsurfers catching Lake Superior waves right out your window (even during snowstorms!). Enjoy watching the sun and moon rise from the lakeside living room and set from your bayside bedroom.
Feel like cooking? Our fully equipped gourmet kitchen has everything you need to whip up a casual meal or pull out all the stops and create a Thanksgiving feast for six or a romantic anniversary dinner for two.
If you're in the mood to explore, a wonderful mix of restaurants, movie theaters, museums, galleries, antique stores, coffee bars and locally owned shops can be found just across the bridge in the historic Canal Park area. Duluth’s popular Lakewalk begins in Canal Park and takes you past several Duluth landmarks, including the Rose Gardens and Leif Erickson Park. When you’re ready to relax, head back to your house on the beach ~ there’s no better place to unwind. Once you discover our Park Point Carriage House, you won’t want to leave.

Park Point Carriage House. You'll Want to Call it Home!
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Duluth
We had the opportunity to buy the house next door, tear it down and have a garage for the first time. It just didn't make economic sense to buy a waterfront lot for just a garage.... so the plans changed and changed and changed and the garage turned into a vacation rental carriage house. We are loving the opportunity to share the house, the view and our favorite town, Duluth.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We know the view and the area well, having owned the house next door for thirty eight years. The view changes from day to day and hour to hour. We never tire of looking out over the lake, seeing the horizon and knowing that all the rest of the world is way out there beyond our view, and beyond our concern for that moment.

We often stay in Duluth or on the north/south shores of Lake Superior. We have never stayed in a more comfortable and relaxing place. The design and furnishings are tasteful and first-rate. No rental home that we have used on VRBO has been as well stocked with essentials and extra touches. Park Pointe provides a unique view of Duluth and the beach is amazing. Canal Park is a short walk across the lift bridge. The Carriage House is a wonderful place for a Duluth vacation.

The Park Point Carriage House is a beautiful vacation rental in a great location. The view of the lake is outstanding and it is close to a variety of restaurants and shops. Jerry and Betsy go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked -- Cuisinart coffee maker, spice drawer, every cookiing utensil you could need. The bathroom towels are very plush and the walk-in shower is beautifully tiled. The little extra's -- coffee for the first morning, bath soap, lotion, etc., and even a bowl of Werther candies -- made our stay more enjoyable. The home has a collection of DVDs, great books on the history of Duluth, and several board games. We had been to Duluth in the summer, but this was our first time to visit in the winter. Duluth and Lake Superior are even more beautiful this time of year and the carriage house provides a warm sanctuary. Thanks again!

My boy friend who is from California wanted to see what Duluth was all about. I couldn't take him just anywhere, so I rented this home and it was PERFECT! Amazing view of the surfers (yes surfers in December!!) and Lake Superior. Great furniture, very nice kitchen that was full of dishes and cookware, nice bathroom, and cozy bedroom. SPOTLESS and very orderly. Couldn't ask for more! Plus, the blizzard that was going on in the Twin Cities made traveling a little difficult but Jerry was more than accommodating. We walked around Bentlyville, a city of Christmas lights. Canal Park is always a good place for a drink or a bite to eat. A short drive up the north shore is Gooseberry Falls where we hiked and it was more beautiful in the winter than any other season! I would recommend this home to anyone, any age!

We spent a very relaxing, wonderful 3 day weekend at the Park Pt Carriage House. We are sad to see our stay come to an end, but we know we will return! This is an absolutely beautiful property both inside and out. The fire pit is gorgeous, the lawn is immaculate with detailed landscaping, and really cool driftwood sculptures. The property is right on the beach so the view is breathtaking. The condo itself is very classy and modern. It's beautiful with great fixtures, furniture, and detailing -- and it is so comfortable! You are not going to want to get out of the big comfy chair next to the living room window! Jerry and Betsy were gracious hosts -- we can't wait to come back!

We spent a week at the Carriage House and it was wonderful. Clean, quiet and private, with the most amazing views you can imagine. We will not be staying anywhere else in Duluth ever again! We've recommended it to all our friends, too. If you're going to be in Duluth, you *need* to check here first.

We had the pleasure of spending our Thanksgiving holiday in the Park Pt. Carriage House. We have stayed in a number of VRBO properties, and this is by far, the best. Everything is perfect - it is furnished, with every amenity you can imagine. The kitchen is completely furnished and we were able to cook and serve our Thanksgiving meal without any of the things we took with us "just in case they weren't furnished." There was even a spice drawer. The space is very beautiful, and the pictures don't do it justice. You can tell that no corners were cut when this place was designed. You can be content just to sit on the sofa and look out at the lake and the passing ships. The property is right on the beach, so there's nothing between it and the lake. We were especially lucky to be there during a full moon, which was a breathtaking sight over the water. All the furniture is attractive and functional - the bed is very comfortable. It is obvious that a lot of planning went into this space. We can't wait for our next opportunity to visit Duluth, and we'll be certain to stay at the Park Point Carriage House.
