We rented the lodge for a weekend to host our 20 person retreat. The cabin was clean and nicely decorated, the bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice and well equipped. Everything was in working order and our experience with the owners was great. I would highly recommend this place and will likely visit them again.

FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE OWNERS FOR GIVING ME AND MY FAMILY THE HOME AWAY FROM FEELING WHEN WE WALKED INTO THE CABIN. WE COULDNT HAVE ASK FOR ANY BETTER CABIN. PHOTOS OK BUT WHEN YOU GET THERE, ITS LIKE UNREAL, THE MASTER SUITE IS AWESOME, BUT THE OTHER BEDROOM ON THE MAIN NEED TO BE A FULL SIZE BED INSTEAD OF TWIN. THE UP STAIRS AND DOWN IS GREAT ALSO EXSPECIALLY THE GAMEROOM(WITH JUKE BOX). THIS IS A GREAT PLACE FOR THE HOLD FAMILY, YOUNG AND OLD. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS WHEN IT CAME DOWN TO CALLING THE OWNERS FOR HELP WITH ANYTHING. THE ONLY DOWN FALL I HAD WAS TRYING TO MAKE A FIRE OUTSIDE IN THE PIT.:) ME AND MY GIRLFRIENDS WANTED ROASTED MARSHMELLOW, BUT WE ENDED UP WITH BURNED ONES. SO LADY'S MAKE SURE YOU BRUSH UP ON YOUR FIRE BUILDING SKILLS BEFORE YOU GO. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CABIN AS YOUR ONLY CHOICE. SO ANYONE COMING OVER, LETS KEEP OUR CABIN IN TOP SHAPE. Great Place for a Guys Weekend

We had 10 guys for a Poker and Football weekend. Perfect place for a guys get away. Mountain Biking and Paint Ball nearby. Hung out at the house with the hot tub, Aracade Games and Excellent Music inside and out with the Bose system and Bubbler Juke Box when the cards were not flying. We will definately return next year to this first class home!

Wow!! What a place!! Something to do for everyone. Cabin has everything. Saw changing leaves for the first time. October pretty time of year. Tim, Sheri and Betty, wonderful people!! Will definately stay again. Make sure you go horseback riding off of Cashes Valley!

If you are searching for the perfect spot to rest,relax, and recharge,STOP SEARCHING!! you have just found it! Our family of 13, ranging in ages of 60 to 20 months, found this to be the best cabin we have stayed in since we began coming to Blue Ridge 10 years ago! Truly, the pictures do not do this cabin justice. The kids (big and small) loved the arcade games,pool table, juke box, hot tub,and TV's. The owner's of this cabin realized the importance of a bathroom for every bedroom, and made it a reality. Thank you for sharing a little slice of your heaven with us! We will be back again!

We just stayed at this property and all I can say is WOW. The pictures make the house look nice but it is an understatement when you arrive. The house is AMAZING. There were only 3 of us so most everyone was saying "why are you getting a 6 bedroom place". It was mainly because of the game room but with the layout of the home we did not feel like we were in a hug place. Each of the 6 bedrooms have a great layout and large closets. The bathrooms are beautiful and so big compared to some of the other cabins we have rented. The game room... WOW ... my 4 year old had a blast and did not want to leave even for area activities. I would like to say THANK YOU to the home owners for having such a wonderful place that we will definitely want to visit again soon. The property was perfect and near by everything a person would need in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at your cabin! It is very convenient to get to yet secluded and quiet. Each night was very peaceful and the view of the lake and the moutains in the background were very nice. Our son flipped out on all the games that you had available and the music jukebox was awesome! We are definitely returning soon and thank-you for making the trip so easy!

Wonderful Family Get Together lodge

We found Loving Road Lodge wonderful. It was exactly as described and perfect for our family. It has lots of space to spread out and a hugh dining room we could all gather about for dinner. We ALL enjoyed the games and found we would be up late at night challenging each other to a game of centipiede or?? Lots to do in the area and good restaurants however we found we liked to cook in and be together as we all live in different areas. A great outdoor fire pit with lots of wood to burn. No complaints!

This place and people are a hoax!!! The pictures are completely deceiving! This home IS NOT in the mountains, it is just off the highway....surrounded by other homes. NO PRIVACY! In fact, the owners of this home are staying in an RV on the same property. I/my friends were accused of steeling a wifi adapter for the xbox, and was not returned my entire deposit! I will NEVER stay at this dump again, and will continue to write bad reviews.

Owner response:In response to Heather's comments: As she has stated, there was a missing wifi adapter from our xbox 360 during the post departure inspection. That same day I contacted Heather and asked her if she could check with her group of 14 to see if someone had mistakenly gathered it up in their things when leaving (I did not accuse anyone of stealing as she has falsely said). About 10 minutes later she called back and said that she was able to check with everyone in her group and no-one knew of it's whereabouts. I asked her to please let us know if it turned up on her end, while we would perform an additional search of the cabin. We did not hear back from her or find the adapter though we looked diligently. When refunding her deposit, we held $106.94 for the adapter and refunded her $193.06 along with the reciept of purchase. Her group left their stay with us, seemingly, very happy with the accomodations. They even left a nice comment in our cabin guest book saying how much they enjoyed our home and that we had "thought of everything". Sadly, it was only when she found out that she would be held reponsible for replacing the missing electronic device, did our place become a "dump". We do not live on the property, we live in Aiken, SC. Our cabin is not advertised as secluded but contrary to her statement it is very private on 3 acres. It is not in a cabin community or sub-division. Our guests enjoy easy access and plenty of parking. We have only been home a short time, but we are already planning our next trip to Loving Road Lodge. The cabin is incredible! The moment you walk in the front door, you realize it has been furnished and decorated with love. Celebrating an early family Christmas, the tree for our presents and other holiday décor made it all the more festive. It is obvious that the owners, Tim and Sherri, have put so much thought into making sure your every need is met. From the well-equipped gourmet kitchen, to the abundant supply of towels and linens, to plenty of firewood for campfires and the fireplace, and even detergent for both laundry rooms – it’s all there! It’s really not even necessary to bring food. We discovered a fantastic Ingles, better than our grocery stores at home, right down the road. With six adults and four young children in our group, the layout of the cabin was perfect for us. We all had our own space, and the little ones were able to nap in quiet areas, away from the noise and commotion in the basement. What can we say about the basement? It’s awesome! The game rooms, pool table, jukebox and hot tub provide so much entertainment that it’s hard to go to bed. It was such fun and nostalgic to play some of the older video games, and we (AMS and BJS) challenge you to beat some of our high scores on them. The Kanomi shooting arcade was a huge hit, especially with Grandma, although she took out a number of cops and bystanders along with the criminals. The children loved “driving” their boats in the Hydro Thunder racing game. Even with the evening temperatures in the thirties, we took full advantage of the hot tub. The pool table was in almost constant use and rocking to the jukebox, we played cards far into the night. Tim and Sherri, we can’t thank you enough for all of your efforts to assist us in finding help for a dead car battery, not once, but twice, in an unfamiliar location. We appreciate that and everything else you did to make our stay so enjoyable. We also can’t praise you enough for creating such a warm and welcoming home and for sharing it with us. Our family will definitely be back!

Thanksgiving 2009

Loving Road Lodge is a beautiful, well-maintained home with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. My family of 14--including children, children-in-law, and grandchildren--spent the week of Thanksgiving 2009 there and the only thing we took besides personal gear and groceries was a roasting pan large enough for a 20-lb. turkey because Sherri wasn't sure the roasting pan at the cabin was large enough. (It would have been!) The game rooms provided enough activities to keep everyone busy when it was too cool to stay outside. The extra refrigerator downstairs in the bar area really came in handy when preparing food for our large group. We thoroughly enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace in the den, and I loved the jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom and the wrap-around porches! We'll definitely keep this cabin on our list of places we'd like to visit again.

Perfect Getaway

I have been to the lodge three times both for a work retreat and family vacation. The lodge is a wonderful place to escape the hustle of the real world without completely leaving civilization. Inside is wonderfully decorated and equiped with so many things to do you never have to leave. On the off chance that you'd like to, Blue Ridge, GA is only 4 miles away, fully equiped with stores, shops, and all the amentities you could want while on vacation. Tim and Sherri, the owners are wonderful people to deal with both personally and professionally. I HIGHLY recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a family vacation or a work group getaway. You will not regret your decision to rest and regroup here!!

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful 4 day weekend at the lodge. It is beautifully appointed and the pictures do not do it justice, the lodge had every amenity you could ask for and then some. We lacked absolutely nothing in the way of needs one might have away from your "own" home, the kitchen was a delight to all of us ladies and boy did use it!! It was fun going to the farmers markets and the city of Blue Ridge itself and strolling down the avenue. I will say, I have alot of people asking me about the vaca and I have told many of them that the winter season would be even better to visit, but any time spent here is a good time. I'm glad we were able to locate the sunglasses for you. Again thank you for the hospitality and look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Professional, Charming, Accomodating

Can't say enough good about this place and our hosts. Fabulous experience. I'll definitely stay at Loving Road Lodge again when our travels take us back to the Blue Ridge area. Our family reunion has rented many mountain cabins over the past 15 years, and this was BY FAR the most well-run, well-stocked and welcoming place we have ever stayed. From my first contact with Sherri & Tim I knew that I was dealing with hosts who would treat this as both a professional transaction AND a personal event. They treated us like we were the most important folks ever, even though I'm sure they've answered these questions many times before. Every family member complimented the house - from my aunt who has difficulty walking and appreciated having her bedroom/bath on the main floor, to the kids who disappeared for hours into the ALL FREE game room, to the cooks (we take turns cooking dinner for the week) who found they could keep their specialty equipment packed up because IT WAS ALREADY THERE! My dad and his wife slipped downstairs to play pool while we fed the kids, and we all gathered around the dining and entertainment tables to play cards long into the night. We didn't even get around to playing Guitar Hero or the other video games because our days were so packed with activities and visiting! And when we found out that they have a three-burner coffee pot and PROVIDE THE COFFEE I was in heaven! We loved horse-back riding through Blanche Manor in Copperhill, TN (about 30 minutes away), and shopping in Blue Ridge. If you have little ones, don't miss the Feed Store in town - cages of ducks, chickens, turkeys to visit on the porch and more to see inside. Fabulous hike/vistas at Swinging Bridge, and some of our families drove to the tallest peak in GA and said it was awesome and well worth the trip. Some visited the town of Helen and found it too touristy. And don't miss Lake Nottely (north of Morganton) for a longer lake with less expensive fishing boat rentals and charming views. It was a wonderful vacation, thanks in large part to a fabulous house in a great location with charming hosts.

Summer fun time

Grandparents, two sons and their family had a wonderful time at your mountain home. We all played video games, played in the hot tub, sat on the porch enjoying the mountain air and sounds, reading books. The cabin was all you said it was. Plenty of room for everyone with space to spare. We will probably return next summer for more fun. You took care of us while we were there.

NOT just a cabin --- a HOME away from HOME

Cabins are a "dime a dozen" online ---- we were truly BLESSED to have FOUND this "HOME away from HOME" ! ! ! Tim & Sherri welcome every FORTUNATE guest. If you sacrifice a moment or two during your stay --- you will find yourself being IMPRESSED by this HARDWORKING/FUTURE-THINKING/MULTIPLE SKILLED FAMILY. The cabin is LUXURIOUS -- even BETTER than the photos (if that's possible) --- Sherri puts Martha Stewart to shame with her attention to DETAILS/DECOR/CLEANLINESS and GENUINE HOSPITALITY ! ! ! I've stayed at many other cabins/house rentals --- this is the ONLY one truly STOCKED like your OWN home. If you choose to actually cook --- you will have MORE pots/pans/casserole dishes/tupperware for leftovers/spices/pitchers for tea, etc .......than you probably have at your OWN house !!! All APPLIANCES are awesome (we used the WAFFLE MAKER every morning !!!!) Towels are ABUNDANT in EVERY room & PLUSH ! Laundry ROOMS make it efficient/easy to keep them stocked thruout the use of the hot tub & showers !! The game room is the SELLING POINT for most --- yes it is as INCREDIBLY AWESOME as you think ! :)) Even the grandparents in our group "snuck down there" when others were out exploring the mountain trails !!! That was kind of funny actually .... and we ALL wanted to take the jukebox home ... LOL I absolutely RECOMMEND this cabin to anyone who APPRECIATES opportunities in life ---- Tim and Sherri offer an AFFORDABLE family vacation .......that has their fellow Americans "feeling" like the "Rich and Famous" .... P.S. The scenic drives here were MORE SPECTACULAR than Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge ..... sure P.F. has the go-karts & putt-putt, but we had 360 deg. view of mountains/valleys/farms etc EVERY direction we travelled !! And the lakes ---- I never knew SO MANY crystal-clear lakes existed within an hours drive !!! We went to drive-in movies, stopped at every quaint "road-side" shop we could find, stuck our feet in EVERY cold stream --- watched the kayackers brave rapids (CRAZY) and even saw "Goats on the Roof" (awesome ---IMMACULATELY CLEAN-- quirky shopping with goats living on the roof -- look it up online) --- and enjoyed sharing our experiences with ALL the locals. Just chatting with those we met was half the FUN ! Even for the teenagers. We hope to make an ANNUAL road trip --- and will be blessed if Tim & Sherry have a HOME to share each time we head their way :))

Fabulous Cabin!

This is a cabin that definitely comes highly recommended! There are not enough words to describe the wonderful time we had in this fabulous, spacious, clean, and reasonably priced cabin for a girl’s weekend retreat. We were there in mid March and we are still talking about how nice the cabin was and when were we going back. It is a great place for all ages, couples, groups, and families. There was nothing left off, it literally felt like home away from home. Thank you so much Tim and Sherri for the opportunity! We will definitely be back to visit and I highly recommend anyone looking to stay in that area to stay there!!!!

I would recommend this cabin for everyone. We had a blast. It is decorated beautifully. Very cozy and comfortable. It accomodated all 15 of us very well. The kids were entertained the entire time with all the games you have to offer. We will be back soon !!!!!

We recently had the fortunate privledge of staying at this beautiful lodge and it was wonderful from beginning to end. You are in awe the second you walk throgh the front door "just taking it all in" and no detail is left undone (with first class taste!) You have absolutely everything you need and the best of everything. Before you leave the driveway, you will be planning your next trip back! We had heard very good things about Loving Lodge but was still "blown away" when we stayed there recently. It was superclean, nothing is overlooked even to the way the towels are folded. You literally need only bring your clothes and food, EVERYTHING else is supplied.It's a great place to re-connect with your family and friends. Just kick back, relax and have a blast!! Thank you Tim and Sherri from the bottom of our hearts.

My wife and I and two other couples stayed here last weekend for a quick getaway and we had a blast. This is really not a cabin, this is more of a luxury home. It was absolutely great and had everything you could ask for... the bedrooms were great, the bathrooms were clean, the kitchen was very well stocked and there were plenty of areas to congregate. Clearly the biggest hit and draw was teh basement with a pool table, a jukebox that you can attach your ipod to and several arcade games. It also had a weber grill! We did not get to see much of the town but the point of the trip was to relax and hang out with our friends. We would definetely consider staying there again.

Spectacular Cabin!

Our family of 18 grandmother/kids/grandkids gathered at Tim and Sherri's cabin for a week and couldn't believe how perfect it was. The kitchen is more well appointed than my primary home. It had a waffle maker, food processor, etc. You won't need to bring any storage containers, utensils or baking dishes. The overall cabin was wonderfully laid out with the game room area, living area, sleep areas, kitchen and porches. You will be shocked at every detail that was executed. We gathered in the evenings to watch the Olympics and there was plenty of space to participate with the family, or find some alone time away from one another. We shopped in Blue Ridge, hiked in Helen, slid down the slippery rocks at Tallulah Falls, rafted in the Ocoee, enjoyed the highest view at Brasstown Bald, picked blueberries, rested, laughed and played. It was a perfect week! The cabin is spotless, spacious and sporty.

My family of 21 stayed at this magnificent lodge June 26 – 29, 2008. During small talk with Sherri as I was making the final payment on our arrival day, I discovered that she and her husband built the lodge over a four year period. The care, thought, and love that they put into every nook and cranny of the lodge was very apparent. The game room/hang out space was functional and great for kids and adults alike. Each bedroom offered its own special retreat which was needed at times with 11 kids/cousins who hadn’t seen each other since our last family vacation in June of 2007. I would definitely recommend this lodge as a spot for family and friends to vacation and get away from it all!

I would have preferred it to be in a little more remote in location; however, the property is beautiful and close to many outdoor activities. The game rooms, juke box, and pool table were a big hit with the teens. Overall I would say that this was a great place and a very good value. We rented a pontoon boat at Lake Blue Ridge marina and that was a success. Some of us went white water rafting on the Ocoee and some did the lazy innertube ride down the river. We loved shopping in Helen, Ga. The mountain roads were amazing.

Wow, What an absolutely incredible experience! Clean, user friendly, access to everything... Lots of relaxing, good family times. We were sold when we saw the pictures online but when you walk through the doors you are just in awe, even more amazed. We had ten of our family members with us on this trip and could have brought another ten and still been comfortable. The place is just huge! Tim & Sherri have gone far above and beyond on this wonderful vacation destination. We would like to start planning a return trip for sure! They did an amazing job with detail in every room and then some... The family room was comfortable, kitchen is a Chefs dream came true, the game room & bar were NEVER without family using them, the hot tub is soooo relaxing and extremely clean, all the bedrooms and baths are roomy, comfortable and just beautifully put together. There are wonderful sweeping views from every point of the spacious wrap around porch and decks. We have traveled to many destinations and experienced a lot of variety and adventures along the way. This lodge has surpassed all our past experiences and will not be topped easily I'm sure. Thanks again Tim & Sherri for all the great memories we were able to create at your beautiful lodge!

our stay at loving road lodge was the best!! we had a family gathering that was great, the cabin was more than we expected, very modern, up to date and much more activities than we would ever enjoy. another thing that all the separate families noticed was that the cabin was very insulated, you could not hear from room to room, which was wonderful where there were children involved and some sleep at different times, very very quite. we will definitely be back, the men only left for a few hours to do some local fishing, other than that, we never left the cabin, this was a vacation that one would never have to leave to have a great time. very, very, nice.

Loving Road Lodge

For our son's homeschool graduation he was offered either Disney World or a trip to Washington, D.C. He chose, instead, to have our family celebrate him at a cabin in the mountains. He could not have made a better choice for himself or the family. The cabin lay-out is perfect for a large group and there is something for everyone. We ate heartily, played the games, read and enjoyed the hot tub. The owners go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Definitely a place to return to.

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had planned an "Old-fashioned, Mountain Christmas" for our children & grandchildren. The Loving Road Lodge was perfect. We had so much fun, everything you could want or need was in this house. We had plenty of room for everyone, and there was something to keep each of us entertained. The only thing we didn't have was SNOW. We will book this one again.

My wife and I schedule a holiday getaway for about 10 family members. Well they had cancel, but we went anyway. Wow! The cabin was FANTASTIC. This is easily a $450 a night cabin. The finishing were fantastic. High-end kitchen fixtures, and wilderness themed decorations all in a very nice and quite environment. Our kids disappeared downstairs. They loved the bunk beds and they played XBOX, pool and watched video games the entire time. The cabin even comes with video games and latest release movies! I enjoyed playing the arcade style video games and the police shooting game gave my legs a workout. Oh! I almost forgot about the cool jukebox. Very Nice!! Well, our family loved the cabin and we WILL be visiting again. We always said we would not visit the same cabin again, but this is the exception. My only request would be for a larger TV in the master bedroom and maybe TVs in some of the other bedrooms. We loved everything else, including the wireless Internet! Be sure to make a reservation tomorrow. Do not do it today, because I need to make my reservation first :)

We stayed here in August, what an amazing place!We had such a good time! Everything was wonderful! It was my husband and I, 2 of our kids and my parents! We spent hours in the hot tub, playing pool,listening to music, having Texas Hold'em Tournaments,playing video games,sitting on the porches,cooking and of course,eating.We will be back!

WOW! That's what we heard over and over as we entered the cabin for our Christmas family gathering. We had three families, with kids across all ages, and Loving Road Lodge was perfect. The bedroom and bathroom sizes were fantastic, and the cabin is in perfect shape. It was wonderful to have the large dining room for our family meal, then the living room for Christmas presents, then retreating to the basement for playing pool and arcade games and listening to the jukebox until the early morning hours! One day for lunch, the kids decided to make the basement a "cafe" and take sandwich orders, which they proceeded to make from the bar area. We really had a great time, and Tim and Sherri have established a fantastic retreat. Don't miss this one if you're looking to just relax and enjoy each other, with plenty of room for everyone!

This cabin is BEAUTIFUL! Having 6 full bedrooms and bathrooms make this cabin extremely comfortable for large parties - everyone has their own space. The game room is so much fun and provided hours of entertainment! We would definitely return to stay at Loving Road Lodge the next time we are looking for a cabin!

This is an amazing cabin for a group. Everybody has something for their enjoyment, be it the hot tub, the pool table, the kids' games (thank God for these) or the awesome kitchen (to cook something yummy in). Everything you could want in a vacation lodge is right here. We'll be back for sure!

The Shepard's cabin was amazing! Everything you could possibly want and more. We had 6 couples and all slept very comfortably. It was very convenient to get to the white water rafting attractions, but no one wanted to leave the pool table, games or hot tub! I would recommend this home to everyone! We were so amazed at the space and how beautiful the cabin was. The owner's really put a lot of time and LOVE into making this a wonderful vacation getaway. I just can't encourage you enough to make your family reunion in this place. There were 11 of us and we checked in on Thursday and left on Sunday and didn't even leave this "Palace", although there's lots of site-seeing nearby. All of the accomdations are wonderful! Great beds and beautiful decorations. Wonderful kitchen! The pictures don't do it justice. So go, you'll have a wonderful time.

Our family gathered at the Shepard's "cabin" this past weekend to celebrate my brother's 50th birthday. There were 11 of us (all adults) and the cabin setup was PERFECT! I was amazed by the beauty and luxury of the home. (We nicknamed it the Loving Road Hilton.) The owner's have worked very hard to ensure that EVERYTHING their guests may need is provided. The attention to detail is everywhere: The kitchen is spacious w/modern appliances & every dish/pan one needs; Each of the bedrooms is uniquely decorated for a "lodge" feel (the beds are fabulous); The bathooms are modern & supplied with plush towels; The game room is AWESOME (We played pool and video games 'till the wee hours!); There are 3 outdoor porches with plenty of seating to allow small groups to "break away". I can't say enough about this home and the Shepard's hospitality. This was one of the best getaways I've experienced (and I've traveled a lot). My family and I will definitely be back!!

What an awesome place! We spent a long week-end here for my brother's birthday. The cabin is perfect for any occasion. We had a ball shooting pool and listening to the jukebox. We also enjoyed the game room and the hot tub. The Sheperd's are a very sweet couple and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend their cabin.

Stayed at the cabin from June 29 to July 1st and it was amazing. The Shepard family is very hospitable and caring and will go out of their way to make sure your needs are met before, and during your stay. As far as the cabin itself the pictures don't do it justice. The beds are the most comfortable we've ever slept in. The game room is top notch, and the attention to detail with building and decorating of the cabin is off the charts. Me,my family, and friends will definetley be staying here again and again and again! Thanks Shepard family!
