Keauhou-Kona Surf & Racquet Club (KKSRC) is a gated, oceanfront complex located 5 miles south of Kailua-Kona and 14 miles south of Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA). We are nestled between Kona Country Club and the Pacific Ocean on more than 17 beautifully landscaped tropical acres.
Our quiet, family-friendly community offers three lighted tennis courts, a pool that's deep & big enough to swim a few laps plus a shallow ell for lazing, two pavilions with grills, tables & chairs, a volleyball net, and an oceanfront footpath.
Our condo is on the 2nd floor in Building 7. Overlooking the 13th green and the palm studded fairways of the Ocean Course, it has a peek through the palms of the beautiful, blue Pacific. Because this has been our home as well as a family vacation destination, it is fully equipped, very well maintained, and holds quite a collection of Asian art.
The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, updated appliances and much more. A stacked washer/dryer is in a closet in the master bath along with that pesky, but sometimes necessary, iron. There are two cable TV's, one with DVD player and VCR, and a CD/Radio/Stereo. We also provide wireless, high speed internet, a fax machine and a printer. KKSRC employs a Resident Manager and we have our own local representative available, too, in case of unexpected maintenance or other issues.
The south-facing lanai is screened and has sunshades to help keep it cool. Ceiling fans on the lanai and in every other room combine with island breezes to assure comfortable temperatures day and night. You'll find Hawaii guidebooks, maps, information about Hawaiian birds, fish, and people, Sam Choy's cookbook, a guest journal, and probably a Hawaiian/English Dictionary. There are art supplies, cards, games, paperbacks, and even a small Christmas tree with lights and decorations.
For your outdoor fun, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, coolers, beach chairs, beach towels and mats are all provided, as well as a volleyball, a set of golf clubs, and a tennis racquet. If you get down to the tennis courts, you’ll meet Ralph, our resident pro, who can set up some lessons for you or help you find a game.
Whether it’s a day of tennis & pool at KKSRC, or surfing & snorkeling at Kahalu’u Beach Park (just a short walk away), or a visit to Pu’uhonua o Honauanu National Historical Park (1/2 hr drive), or exploring Volcanoes National Park (2-1/2 hr drive), or horseback riding, or a round of golf, or a lazy day on the black sand, the very best end of every day in Paradise is watching for the green flash as the sun dissolves in the vast, blue ocean.
Come and enjoy! |
