Location: Weekapaug, Rhode Island, USA (3 hours from NYC; 1 hour from Providence; 1 hour from Boston)

Accommodations:  House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 Baths (Sleeps 9-13)

Our house is a refurbished barn which we affectionately call the "Barn". The Barn is a unique property in Weekapaug because of its large yards. It sits on about two acres of land and is set back from the road about 200 feet, providing lots of privacy and large, safe spaces for children to play in. Children love the huge front yard (which is also perfect for lawn chairs and cocktails!) the adjoining "orchard," (separated from the front yard by a 200 year old stone wall), and simply running around the house or through the meadow path. Once a family vacations at the Barn, they always want to return!

The Barn is a large and charming house which comfortably fits two families. On the first floor there is a living room (with an extra table for games or jigsaw puzzles), a fireplace, a dining room, a fully-equipped kitchen, a utility room with a washer and dryer, a full bathroom, and two bedrooms. Upstairs, there is a big room we call the "loft" which has one bed and a pull-out couch, and which functions nicely as a playroom. There are also two bedrooms, one which is large with four beds and an adjoining bathroom, the other which is smaller with one double bed and an adjoining bathroom.

The Barn is located in Weekapaug, a secret little place right on the Rhode Island shore with beautiful beaches, a relaxed pace, and low traffic where children can safely ride their bikes in the road and don't have to worry about locking them. The Barn is about a five minute walk to the Fenway beach, a child-friendly beach with white sands, a lifeguard, gentle surf, and a rocky area to climb on and find mussels and crabs. The other beach in Weekapaug is the Inn beach, a two mile long beach which is great for walking and adult swimming. Renters have free parking and free access to both beaches.

If you like to explore, you'll love visiting nearby Watch Hill, (great shopping and dining), Mystic (the Mystic Aquarium and the Mystic Seaport), or Newport (mansions and great restaurants). There are plenty of opportunities for shopping and antiquing, too! In nearby Westerly there are all the conveniences you'll need, such as grocery stores, liquor stores, restaurants, mini-golf, and health food stores.

If you like to relax, you'll enjoy the private yards, the lovely beaches, and simply walking or biking around beautiful Weekapaug.
