Charming Waterfront Condo Just Off Las Olas!
Year Purchased: 1991
Why the Owner Chose Waterfront Las Olas Isle
We bought this for the weather(love it year round), the sea, the activities and fun of Fort Lauderdale. It is a diverse community of all ages and has energy year round. And we are lucky now to be here full time. You can pick up last minute deals on the cruise ships or make a run to Miami or the Keys. It just can't be beat.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
It is small and private with a lovely pool and private patio. Well appointed and personal. The outside setting is on the sparkling canal and the wild parrots fly over each afternoon about 4:30 to announce cocktail hour. Walk or bike to the beach or the shops and restaurants of Las Olas.

This wonderful little condo was our "get-a-way" place for years before we retired and moved full time to Fort Lauderdale. We live about 1 mile away in a slightly larger condo. We love to entertain and have been known to have our "guests" for a boat ride, bike ride around the city, or dinner. We travel a great deal. This picture was in Costa Rica as we were getting ready to zip line in the jungle. We still own a Thai restaurant in Durham, NC and commute there to help our "Thai kids" about once a month. Often our place is blocked for our family and close friends. (keeps them from under our feet).. We love to share our special condo and our fun beautiful city with guests.

Wow! was our first impression, the pictures do not do it justice, a splendid apartment with wonderful views and a relaxing terrace, just right to enjoy a nice glass of wine. Caroline provides everything you can wish for, my favourite were the beach chairs, what a lovely touch. Apartment within walking distance of the beach and restauants, so nice to have a walk in the evening. Please don't hesitate to book this lovely apartment, you will not be disappointed. Thank you from us Caroline for making us feel so welcome.
Owner response:I am so happy you enjoyed our condo and our beautiful city. Thank you for the nice review. I hope you will come back again. We feel so lucky to meet nice folks through our little property here. C

But here goes. ...... My wife and I have rented a number of apt/house/condos over the years in Fort Lauderdale and by far our best stay in Lauderdale happened right here. ..... It's close enough for a nice walk down to the ocean or up into the Las Olas art/shopping and dining district. ..... Within minutes it was all there then once we were back at the condo we were miles away on our own quiet deck over looking the Isle of Venice waterway. ...... The pool was warm and the sunsets grand. ..... And Caroline was the grandest host helping us with tips, hints and info all about the area. ..... You will not be disappointed.
Owner response:Thank you Ron and Anne. You were terrific guests and I am so happy you enjoyed our little piece of paradise. Stay warm this winter and do come back.

My husband and I spent a glorious week in this condo in the middle of July - arguably the warmest month in Florida. We had a totally superb time, and barely noticed the heat, much to our surprise. This is mainly because we were so comfortable in the beautifully-decorated and well-appointed home. It is exactly as described in the ad, and has every convenience one could ever need. Clearly much thought went into its furnishings, linens and kitchen items. The communication with the owner was superb - Carolyn and her husband were wonderful hosts, and treated us from the very beginning more as friends than as clients. This informality set the tone for our visit, and we felt at home the minute we arrived at the condo at 2am after a long day of travel. We had no trouble finding the building, and loved driving down the beautiful Fort Lauderdale streets. The pool was like bathwater, and very clean. Going for an evening swim and reading our books on the lovely chairs beside the pool was the perfect ending to a busy day. I could say much more, but it would all be in the same vein - the place is lovely, and both of us hope there will be an opening for us there the next time we come to Fort Lauderdale.
Owner response:We appreciate your kind review and taking the time to put it on my web listing. Please come back and see us again. Often my guests want to keep my special guest condo LOW PROFILE so it is more available. They choose not to broadcast. I can appreciate that too. Thanks again.

This property is exactly as described and shown in the photos. We stayed at this condo Jan. 14 - 28/2011 and would have loved to have stayed for longer. The owners are fantastic people and they went out of their way to take us grocery shopping and to pick up a rental car. We were also lucky enough to have lunch with Carolyn on a few occasions because she was in town while we were there. You will notice that this condo is already booked for winter 2012 and I am not surprised because it is in a very convenient location and is in such a beautiful setting. I would not hesitate to rent this condo again if it is available when we are in Fort Lauderdale.
Owner response:Thank you for your kind review. It was a pleasure to meet and have you in Fort Lauderdale. Stay warm and hopefully Spring will come early.

We loved it here and were sorry to leave this lovely waterfront setting after a one week stay. The owners, Carolyn and Harry, who live off property, are gracious and generous people who are friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. The Caravelle is a small, quiet, well-maintained, tropically landscaped "old Florida" style building with just 11 apartments. Only 3 apartments were occupied while we were there. In fact, we had the pool entirely to ourselves which was great. The location is near restaurants, shopping and the beach, actually within walking distance of 1 mile or so. The apartment is a first floor unit, quite private with easy parking and access. It is comfortably furnished and clean with a private porch overlooking a deep water canal. We used the porch daily for our morning coffee and evening cocktails.. The living room and bedroom (comfy king bed) are of generous size. The compact kitchen has up-to-date appliances and is fully equipped. Bikes are available. If you are lucky enough to stay here, be sure to heed Carolyn's written restaurant recommendations.. We tried quite a few on her list and found them spot on and reasonable. If you are looking for quiet, clean, comfortable surroundings, this is the place. We hope to return someday soon. Highly recommended.
Owner response:You guys are great. Thanks and Hurry back.
