Mountain Cleft Retreat, a year round vacation experience, is the perfect choice for your next "escape the world" getaway. This secluded wilderness refuge includes a quiet and lovely European style house, chalet, and cabin set in the magnificent Montana mountain wilderness. A charming twenty-acre paradise, it is located just one mile from the wild and scenic Flathead River where the north fork and middle fork converge, a popular spot to fish, whitewater raft, kayak, or canoe.

The retreat is just seven miles from the West Glacier entrance to Glacier National Park. Breathtaking mountain views, wilderness solitude, abundant wildlife, herb and flower gardens, forests and meadows, combine with private, beautiful accommodations and every comfort to make you feel relaxed, revitalized, and pampered.

The retreat's secluded alpine wilderness location bordering National Forest and Glacier National Park affords frequent opportunities to observe wildlife. Bear, moose, and deer are frequent visitors here, so be sure to bring your camera!

The 3536 square foot Alpine House hosts a variety of rooms to meet your accommodation needs with a sleeping capacity up to fifteen. Rooms may be rented individually or the entire Alpine House may be rented for family reunions or special occasions. DSL Internet, and kitchen facilities are available for all Alpine House guests.

The lower level includes four bedrooms and a full bathroom, with three queen bedrooms, a room with two sets of bunkbeds, and a queen sofa bed couch. Private bedrooms have beautifully hand painted wall art, down comforters, decorator linens, terry robes, and slippers. The fours bedrooms open out to a common sitting room with a gas log fireplace, a large sheepskin rug, comfortable fireplace chairs, and two couches. The sitting room exits to a private back garden with arbors, a three-tier fountain, a bench for reflection, and an umbrella table and chairs for leisure relaxation and eating.

The ground level includes a dining room and fully equipped kitchen with large windows looking out to the front garden, full bathroom, and washer/dryer.

Stairs from the main level to the upper level transport you to a different world. An arched doorway leads to the spacious, romantic Old World style bedroom with king bed, down comforter, bistro table and chairs, bedroom library, and reading chair. The handsome corner armoire houses a TV/DVD/Video player and windows on both sides of the room look out onto the surrounding Montana woods. A few steps up from the bedroom is the Great Room with cathedral ceiling, living room with overstuffed red velvet furniture, a two story stone fireplace with gas log fire, and full bathroom. A balcony off the Great Room overlooks the front flower gardens. Graceful arched doorways, stained glass windows, hand painted wall art, tapestry rugs, a medieval iron chandelier, and skylights make this room a breathtaking hideaway.

Stairs up from the Great Room take you to the upper loft, a combination library/bedroom/business center above the Great Room, with a queen sofa bed, desk, skylights, and windows overlooking spectacular mountain, forest, and meadow views.

The Glacier Chalet looks like something out of a charming storybook. The 1000 square foot, wood sided, red roofed, two story chalet with white painted balconies, set on a hillside overlooking a meadow, is a dream come true. Two cozy upstairs bedrooms, one with two twin beds, and the other with one queen bed, have down comforters, linens, robes, and slippers. Each room is done in European cottage decor and has its own private balcony with views of the mountains and woods, complete with chairs and a bench for relaxing.
The downstairs has a full kitchen, dining room, living room with queen sofa bed couch, reading chairs and a gas fireplace, a bathroom, entry room, and front porch. The living room opens out onto a large balcony deck with deck chairs and barbecue grill. The deck overlooks the meadow below.

The Nordic cabin is located a short but private distance from the chalet on the edge of the woods. This cozy, one-room sleeping cabin is decorated in bright reds and blues with its own deck overlooking the meadow, and views to the surrounding mountains. It can be rented as overflow sleeping for the Alpine House or Glacier Chalet (cabin has no bathroom or kitchen). Two twin beds have down comforters, and trundle beds can be pulled out to sleep up to four persons.
