We had the privilege of staying at Troy's condo for 10 nights in October and I'm happy to say that my wife and I had the time of our lives! The unit has a better than expected ocean view and direct view of the wonderful gardens at the resort. The unit itself has a very authentic and traditional Hawaiian feel to it. For the price we paid at a prime location in North Kaanapali, we couldn't have asked for more! Now if you're looking for five star luxury and modern living, this unit and resort is not for you. However, if you're looking for great value, accommodations, location, AND most importantly a trustworthy and caring lessor such as Troy, than this unit is for you! We actually interacted more with Troy AFTER he was paid in full up front. He provided recommendations for things to do and was always responsive to our needs or requests. This goes to show that he cares about his visitors and not just about making a few extra dollars. Thank you Troy for everything you did to help make our trip amazing!

We had such an amazing time at our stay in this condo at Kaanapali Shores in Jan. 2011! The views were beautiful, the bed was incredibly comfy, the kitchen had every appliance and utensil we have at home plus more, the decor was lovely and the place was very clean - it was everything we hoped for and then some. We will be back!

Christmas in Maui

My children (boy age 7/girl age 4) and I stayed in this condo for 10 days over Xmas. Our flight was delayed for 2 hours and after picking up our rental car and it being quite late at night, all we wanted to do was get to the resort. Troy's directions and advice (to drive slowly) were great and accurate. We arrived, exhausted and the bell boy was so helpful. He showed me where to park, unloaded all my luggage, looked after my kids while I signed in at the front lobby and took me to my room. What a nice greeting for some weary travellers. The condo was great. As mentioned in other reviews, the king size bed was so comfy! The black out blinds definitely helped my kids get good sleeps. My son slept on the pull out sofa and this was also extremely comfortable. The kitchen was stocked well with all utensils, cooking pots, frying pans, and casserole dishes. I liked the fact that there were plastic and glass cups. The only condiments were salt and pepper. I don't know if housekeeping throws out everything after other people leave. I would have appreciated if there was vegetable oil, coffee, spices, etc. I've stayed in other rental apartments/condos where there is quite a bit of extra stuff and it is handy to have so that you aren't buying extra things. For example, I had to buy vegetable oil and syrup and hardly used any of this--I left in on the counter in hopes that someone else wouldn't have to spend money to buy these items. The condo was very clean. The washer and dryer worked well. There was a broom to sweep floors. I would have appreciated if there was a vacuum to clean the carpets during our stay. I also would have liked if there had been some cleaning products to wipe down counters and disinfect every few days. The resort was great. Very friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant is extremely reasonably priced with great food. The pools were clean and not too cold. I liked browsing in the stores in the resort. I really liked the ABC Store 1 block away and the grocery store and restaurants, DVD rental store, postal outfit, etc., just across the way. My sister was in the same resort (a 2bd/2ba) and her condo was also fabulous. Overall, we had a wonderful time at this resort. Troy was very accommodating with any questions/concerns that I had. I would definitely rent this condo again. Thank you Troy! You made our Christmas 2010 that much more special.

Sorry about not having condiments left over there many times they are left if un opened but by law the maids have to toss all opened food for guests safety now days. I feel the same way when I get there and wish there were things left over like milk, eggs etc but those all get tossed its wasteful but has to be done sadly. On your next extended visit we can arrange for weekly cleanings so you don't have to worry about vacuuming/dusting etc. Most guests are there for a few days to a week but longer as per your stay we will go with a weekly cleaning next time. This is our third stay at Ka'anapali Shores and the first in Troy's condo. We were very pleased with the location and condition of this unit. The bed was super comfortable, my wife loved the kitchen, and everything was very clean. We would rent this unit again. The pool, restaurant, beach and all facilities are excellent. We will be back again next year. We are even considering purchasing a unit.

This was the first place we stayed on our 2 week Hawaiian vacation and it set the bar very high for the rest of the trip. We really enjoyed the condo. It had everything we needed and we loved the location. Ka'anapali Shores is a great resort and it was nice having the pools, hot tub, restaurant, and beach proximity. It was also really nice to be across the street from some other restaurants and a supermarket and a short walk to some other shops. The place is very nicely decorated and the lanai was a wonderful spot to hang out. My daughter said that the sleep sofa was the most comfortable bed she slept in for the whole trip (pretty impressive for a sleep sofa!). Troy was a pleasure to deal with and I would highly recommend this property to others.

This property is perfect if you are looking to feel at home while in Maui. It was the best home-base would could have asked for as we went on adventure after adventure around Maui. We truly felt like it was our own home. The pool was perfect for our 3-year old as it's not very deep (Garden pool). The only thing I wished for was a more extensive list of what is available at the condo...then my bags wouldn't have been so heavy! We would certainly stay here again if we returned to Maui.

Troy - Thank you so much for the GREAT vacation! We spent a week in the Michael's unit from Aug. 1 - 9, 2009. From the moment I contacted Troy, he was attentive to the needs of my family. He answered my many questions about the unit, even providing additional items for the kids to enjoy. He doesn't simply rent you a room, but takes the time to provide a tailored list of places to visit, based on the questions he asks regarding what you plan to do. This condo is amazing! The Michaels have spared no expense in making this condo a HOME. The unit is spotless and well decorated. The beds are sooooo comfortable, even the sofa sleeper. Both have thick memory foam topping the mattresses, which we all loved. The kitchen is well stocked, with any appliance you might want or need. The lanai has the best furniture in the complex. Where others have metal or plastic and mesh furniture, this unit has lovely cushioned furniture with ottomans. One of my favorite activities in Maui was to enjoy my morning coffee while listening to the birds chirping, then repeat at sunset with a glass of wine. Ahhh! I miss it already! Thanks Troy! Troy, Megan and I want to thank you again for being a part of our honeymoon(a memory forever). The condo was fabulous, more than we could have asked for. When we arrived everything looked like the pictures on your web-site, not like the generic pictures you see on most resort web-sites. The location was great for us, we had no problems navigating the island. We were happy to call it home for the nine days we were there. We had a wonderful two weeks in your perfetly equipped condo. There is always a concern that the rental condo is being overly stated but in your case the condo was even better that advertized. It was especially nice to sit on the lanai in early evening enjoying a cocktail and listening to the many many birds in the surrounding trees. Thank you again for maiking your condo available and we shall certainly reccommend it to friends looking for a perfect vacation in Hawaii. We will be back.

Troy, thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us. We had an amazing trip and your condo at Kaanapali Shores is the ideal place to stay. It is so close to great snorkeling spots and close enough to the Whalers Village area to enjoy that area but not be in the middle of it all. The grounds of Kaanapali Shores was more beautiful than we expected. The pools were wonderful as well and the tennis courts were well maintained and never full. We ate at the restaurant several times and it was also very good. Your condo is beautifully decorated, well stocked and so clean. It had everything we needed. Stayed here over Thanksgiving 2008. Fabulous place, well furnished and immaculately clean. Beach is sandy but sea a little rough for young ones. Sunsets are amazing - I have a photo that just takes your breath away - it's like the sky is on fire. Road Hana made a 6 yr old ill so take it easy and consider stopping part way at the Gardens of Eden - beautiful. Volcanoe is a hike but so unusual it's still worth the trip. We went at sunset but note the observatory actually obscures your view of the sunset so consider parking up just short of the summit for unspoiled views. Aquarium worth a trip, but highlight was seeing a couple of humpback whales on Dec 1 - awesome. Prices are more reasonable for eating than I expected. some things are pricey but when compared to the trip is minute. Some beacjed in winter are windy so take advice from the concierge, particulalry if you venture north of here. Looking forward to our return some day!

My husband and I honeymooned here at Ka'Anapali Shores. We had an amazing time. The room was very comfortable and had all the amenities we could ever need (and more)!! The bellman told us the room was significantly upgraded compared to some of the other rooms. The beach is beautiful and the sunsets are incredible. We would absolutely stay here again. In fact, my husband promised to bring me back every five years :)

Troy & Randy we want to thank you again for letting us stay in your condo on Maui. The condo is decorated beautifully and the view from the lanai is fantastic. We started every morning with a cup of coffee on the lanai while enjoying the garden below us and the ocean view. We loved where the condo was located in Ka'anapali. First trip to Hawaii for me and it was terrific mostly thanks to having a great place to stay. View is great, I spent much time on the comfortable Lanai (Troy and Randy provide much nicer furniture than the standard plastic fare on the other Lanai's. The rest of the condo is impeccable (even the bell boy commented on "how nice this unit is"). Just as important Troy and Randy were very professional to deal with and while we were there they immediately returned calls etc to make sure our stay was good. They have even attended to small things like keeping a list of things to do and they are not shy to provide suggestions (the Luau at Old Lahania was a real treat). We did a few of the other suggestions and they all turned out great. I would definitely stay here again. My only suggestion is to bring a small flashlight to help see the combination on the key lock box as it is a bit dark (for a guy with old eyes) to see it well.

We just returned from an absolutely wonderful vacation in Maui on Jan 10, 2008. This was our first time in Maui and we couldn't have chosen a nicer place to stay. The condo was newly remodeled with everything you could ask for. Troy has great taste when it comes to decorating. We enjoyed the evenings on the lanai, relaxing in the comfy chairs and ottomans. Our boys also enjoyed the many accommodations at this complex. We will definitly stay here again. Awesome unit.

We spent a week (Jan 10-17/08) at the Michael's condo and it was lovely. The day we arrived we received a call from Troy Michaels to ensure that everything was okay with the condo. We really appreciated the personal touch. The condo has been upgraded, is very clean, is decorated beautifully and is well equipped for a short or long-term stay. The lanai is gorgeous with beautiful outdoor furniture. The resort itself is very nice, with a nice restaurant, beautiful pools and gardens. Kaanapali Beach is exceptional and is great for long walks/runs and is very uncrowded. We loved it and would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone. I can't wait to stay there again!

We just returned from a week long stay (July '07). This was our 2nd time staying in the unit. We first visited 5 years ago for our honeymoon and returned for our anniversary. My wife reminded me that I promised to bring her back on our 5 year anniversary. Its funny the things she remembers. This time though, we brought along our 2 year old daughter. The unit itself is spacious and has a great lanai with comfortable furniture. My wife and daughter spent every morning eating breakfast together on the lanai, different color birds would come right up to their feet begging for food. My daughter just loved it. The lanai is overlooking a beautifully manicured garden, pool area and the ocean. The views are amazing! The unit is cozy and has a washer and dryer, dishwasher and full kitchen. We used these amenities everyday. It was nice to be able to wash our towels and clothes as needed. We even were able to come home with all our laundry done. This is an incredible resort and a wonderful unit. I highly recommend it!
