My husband and I stayed in this lovely apartment for just 3 nights from 11-14th March 2012. This was a wonderful and comfortable apartment in an ideal location for exploring Edinburgh. It is true to the VRBO listing with a spectacular view of Edinburgh castle right out of the lounge room window. The apartment is in a secure and safe building right in the heart of the Grassmarket area. The apartment has a generous entrance foyer, a large, comfortable and well appointed bedroom with luxury linens, a large lounge room, a shower room and a good sized and well appointed kitchen. The booking and apartment access was made very easy and smooth thanks to the efficiency of the owner, Vivienne Cameron, who was most professional to deal with. Vivienne also generously left a lovely welcome basket with wine, bread, biscuits and some other helpful and essential items. The apartment is only a short 5 -10 min walk to the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, to the New Town district and tourist bus area and only a few minutes to many pubs and loads of different restaurants and dining options. I can highly recommend dining at ‘Mussels and Steak, just a few minutes’ walk up to the top of the Grassmarket at 110 West Bow St. This was a suggestion from Vivienne and we loved it so much we went there twice; for dinner and for lunch. Our favourite pub in the Grassmarket was ‘The Last Drop’ and we also went there more than once. We also had a lovely meal at Maison Bleue, only a few min walk at 36/38 Victoria St. We would definitely stay here again if we ever returned to Edinburgh!

My friend and I stayed at this location during our trip to Edinburgh. You simply could not ask for a better location, not to mention, being able to look at the castle from the sitting room windows was amazing! The flat is within walking distance to most of the major sites and you can catch the bus just across the street if you need to go farther. It is a great size and provides everything you need while on vacation. It was so nice to be able to cook if we didn't feel like going out. Vivienne was so great to work with! Everything from the original booking, to getting the keys, to the return of the deposit was so smooth and easy. The welcome basket with coffee, teas, bread, cookies and wine was so sweet. I will, without a doubt, stay here again the next time that I am in Scotland (hopefully that is sooner than later!), and would recommend it to everyone!

This flat was absolutely amazing! The view of the castle was unbelievable and the flat was so clean and perfect. If you are going to Edinburgh, stay here! It was a short 15 min walk to the train station and is literally steps from stores and restaurants. We couldn't believe how charming the flat was--it is just decorated so nicely and has everything you'll need while on vacation. Thank you Vivienne! The basket of shortbread, wine, bread, coffee, and teas were so lovely and we couldn't have stayed at a nicer place. Highly, HIGHLY recommended!

Just left Edinburgh after staying a week at the Grassmarket Apartment. It couldn't have better!!! Very comfortable, soft bed, all the necessary amenities (plus a washing machine), very clean, and you CANNOT beat the view!!!! While there we did the hop on hop off buses (which I highly recommend), and it was pretty cool that every time a bus went through the Grassmarket, they paused RIGHT outside of the apartment's door to tell everyone to look at the most spectacular view of the castle! There's really only a couple apartment that have the view because the pubs block it, so being one of the maybe 3 who do was beyond pleasing. And to get the view every day when you wake up and look out the window really makes you want to pinch yourself. The apartment's extremely centrally located. Close to pubs, restaurants, and convenience stores. You're also a very short walk to High Street (the Royal Mile), and pretty much all the major sight seeing attractions. I arranged the apartment with Vivienne (one of the home owners). She was very nice and very quick to get back to me with questions about the apartment and scheduling the visit. Waverley (the other home owner) came and met us upon arrival of the apartment and showed us around and how to work everything. Also gave us some great advice on what not to miss while visiting. He was so sweet and informative. The white wine and shortbread that was waiting for us at the apartment was a really nice touch, too :) In my opinion, you'd be crazy not to stay here! I'm recommending this apartment to all of my friends and to you!!!!

Loved our stay at Grassmarket, the apartment was very clean and comfortable, it met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations, just wish we could have stayed longer. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Easy to book from afar and plenty of information when you get there. Thanks Vivienne for the cookies and wine, such a nice touch. We stayed at the Grassmarket flat for 7 days while traveling in Europe. What a perfect spot to have as a home base: shops and restaurants and pubs literally at your doorstep. The pictures posted are accurate and the interior of the flat is perfect for two. The basket of teas, bread, wine etc. was perfect after a long day of travel. Vivienne was more than helpful and accommodating and I would certainly recommend it to fellow travelers and would stay again myself if in town. Thank you for the hospitality!

My husband and I had a wonderful trip in Edinburgh and it all began with this apartment. It is centrally located and you can enjoy several restaurants and pubs within 100 yards of the front door. That said, you don't hear those late night spots b/c none are in the building and the the bedroom is located in the back of the apartment). The view of the Edinburgh castle from the living room can not be beat. Vivienne was most gracious and had everything perfect for us when we arrived. I highly recommend this apartment!

We spent 2 weeks exploring the city and surrounding area of Scotland using the apartment as a home base. Lovely accomidation and within walking distance of all the sites.. The Grassmarket area is very active all day and night, with a favorite pub just outside the door. The bedroom was quiet and very comfortable after a long day of walking the hills and byways. The bus system was very convienient from and to the airport. Felt very safe and comfortable in the city even at night. The pictures and discription of the accomidations were right on the money. Saturday farmers market just up the road to get local delicious fare. Thanks again for a wonderful experience in your lovely city.

What a great place to stay! The flat itself is lovely and it was so nice to have some tea and biscuits there to greet us after a long day of travel--toast and butter, too! There are many nice things about the flat-the washer, the decor--but the best has to be the location. We were a 5-15 minute walk from almost anywhere one would want to go (sightseeing spots, grocery store, train station). We wouldn't visit Edinburgh any other way.

This flat is absolutely fantastic and it is central to everything! The photos on the website accurately reflect everything the flat has to offer. The little amenities like coffee, tea and a bottle of wine were much appreciated after a long flight from Canada. We would definitely stay here again.
