Hanging out in Alaska with my beary best buddies
VRBO Bear stayed here - 08/20/2008
Come to Alaska and be mesmerized by the beauty and magnitude of the “final frontier.” From the moment you arrive, you will be awe struck by the beautiful landscape. On the way to the property we were welcomed by three moose waiting for us along side the road. The first thing my bear buddies noticed when we entered the home was how spacious and clean it was. As we ventured out we were pleased at how convenient this vacation rental was to restaurants, grocery stores and various other activities. It is situated on a very quiet street with a heavily wooded area and wetlands all around.
Any bear traveling alone, with friends, or with his bear family would enjoy this spacious three-level property where there is plenty of room available for a corporate retreat, family reunion or a vacation getaway.
Features include: Modern kitchen, very large bedrooms for peaceful nights rest after fun-filled days of exploring any number of activities. Some of those activities may be the 5th Street Farmer’s Market on Saturdays, wildlife viewing almost anywhere you go or salmon fishing everywhere, even in the middle of the city, just to name a few. The owners ensure you are well informed to plan your vacation adventures by providing all the brochures you need.
The furnishings in this home are all excellent quality. You will not be disappointed if you choose this property for your Alaskan vacation.

I would highly recommend this house to stay in. Nice quiet area but very close to everything. Large living and eating area. We enjoyed the deck also. I was there in July with my three sisters and two of their husbands - plenty of room for us all. Thanks!

We stayed at this property in mid/late June of this year. I'm originally from Alaska (although I've lived in Hawaii for the past decade), so I knew that this was a prime location. What I didnt know is just how PERFECT it would be. While I'm from Alaska, my wife and young daughter have only visited twice before; and the other three adults we were traveling with were visiting Alaska for the first time. Needless to say, there was a lot we wanted to see and do in a relatively short amount of time, and we couldnt think of a better location than this to serve as our "home base" for our stay in Anchorage - minutes from downtown; right up the road from Valley of the Moon Park; a quick jog to the coastal trail; a stone's throw from C Street, for easy access to midtown; and everything you could possibly need (including the airport, for the unfortunate time when you "need" to go back to reality) are all within quick and convenient driving distance. It's also less than a $5 cab-ride away from all the great bar-and-grill's (like Humpy's and Glacier Brewhouse) and other nightlife in downtown Anchorage, which also came in very handy! Aside from the location, the house itself was more than we couldve expected - it was completely furnished with everything you could possibly need for your stay; all the amenities you could want; it was very welcoming and comfortable (it feels like you're at home); there's a convenient elevator; there's a large gas grill in the front of the house for grilling up some reindeer sausages; and the patio provided many evenings of catching up with old and new friends alike over an Alaskan Amber, reveling at the midnight sun, quite literally, as it was still sunny! There was a playroom in the house, which was perfect for my daughter. There's more than enough space for a group to move around without feeling overcrowded at all. On our last night there, we hosted a little dinner at the house with some friends that I knew when I used to live in Alaska (which I probably should've asked the owner first if it was okay to host a dinner like that; they are AMAZINGLY nice and welcoming, by the way; but the courteous thing to do would've been to ask, so apologies to the owner, and I'm certainly not endorsing that this is a place to host events); and even with a dozen people there cooking and eating it didnt feel crowded at all. In all, that week provided some of my greatest memories EVER of Alaska, and I cant think of a better place to have spent it at!!!

Stayed here with a group of 6 friends/colleagues in March. The house was spacious, cozy, and walking distance to downtown, ice skating, and x-country ski trails. Was the perfect place to go home to after long days of outdoor adventures. I highly recommend this rental and I'll hope to stay here again if I ever visit Anchorage again. Many thanks to the owners for such great accommodations.

Our family stayed here for a week before our alaskan cruise. We used the house as our base to explore many areas nearby - glaciers, flat-top mountain, the zoo, Denali etc. We had a group of 6 and it was very comfortable - so much better than a hotel. We felt so at home here. The owners were soooo friendly and helpful with everything we needed - they were right on site. They even went out to buy us some items! It was clean and well maintained. We were able to make our own meals - the kitchen was well equipped - and even grill on the deck and had plenty of room to entertain other friends who were traveling with us. We were even able to do our laundry here. The house was easy to find and close to many things. The kids took a bike ride to the nearby park and were surprised by a moose right next to the sidewalk! This was our first experience with VRBO and we did not know what to expect but it was great! We would definitely stay here again.
