Caribbean art and decor line the walls of this lovely, well appointed, 2 bedroom; 2 bath suite; which we named Kiribe. We are part of Sapphire Village, in the Tobago Building. Kiribe's two double private balconies overlook Sapphire Beach, Grass, Mingo and Thatch Cays, as well as the British Virgin Islands of Tortola, and Jost Van Dyke. This unit has two completely separate bedroom/bath combinations and is perfect for two couples or a family to share. We have a full kitchen with all the utensils you will need to eat in or use our Weber grill. Between May 2010 and January 2011 we completely refurnished our living room with classic wicker furniture. In January 2011 we put in a new LCD flat screen to go with our CD player and an Ipod port for the steel drum music you long to hear. The perfectly manicured grounds with lush local flora, coupled with the breathtaking view of the turquoise Caribbean Sea, will leave no doubt that you are in Paradise.
Sapphire Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on St. Thomas, is a 5 minute walk down a tree lined hill. Snorkel Sapphire Beach and discover turtles, stingrays, puffer fish, lobsters, conch, and thousands of reef fish. For those who want a close by spot to rest or test the water, a lovely pool and restaurant are attached to the building.
For the young and young at heart, the marina next door offers sailing, boating and fishing charters as well as jet ski rentals. For scuba divers, we highly recommend the pros at Red Hook Dive Center 340-777-3483. It's right down the hill in nearby Red Hook. Ask for Wayne and tell him Steve sent you. They'll take great care of you.
Red Hook Village, with several bars (including the famous Duffy's Love Shack), numerous restaurants, Marina Market grocery store, and the ferry to St. John, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and Tortola are less than 1/2 mile away. Red Hook also has a drug store, hardware store and several retail shops and boutiques.
There are several great spots to eat nearby. Our favorite is Toad and the Tart, just a mile or so down the road. Other good spots are as nearby as The Grapevine, which is a one minute walk downstairs. Romanos and Agave Terrace are great for the special occasion. Latitude 18 is hard to find but tough to beat for good food and good music. Of course, like we said, you can always barbeque on our grill or use our full kitchen.
We love Kiribe and love sharing it with our own family and friends and invite you to enjoy our Caribbean home. Whether you want to sample all of what the East end of St. Thomas and other islands have to offer or just relax with family and friends Kiribe is the best deal on the Island.

Spent a week in St Thomas and the condo was just right. The listing description is very accurate and everything one would need is provided at the condo to include 2 hair dryers! We really appreciated the beach towels and snorkeling gear-they were put to good use! This was the first time I had rented a condo and it was a very simple experience with plenty of good communication between myself and the condo owners-they even sent me a brochure about St Thomas, the condo and helpful hints. I would definitely recommend this condo to others. I do recommend you bring some good mosquito repellant as they were fierce during my stay and some staples like coffee, tea, sweetner. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My husband and I came to St. Thomas for our one year anniversary and we had the best time. The weather was perfect all week, sunny, warm and it only rained one night. The condo was so nice and roomy and very clean. We did tons of sight seeing: we spent a day on the Breakaway tour and went to the British Virgin Islands, spent a day in St. John shopping, rented some jet ski's and explored the town of Red Hook. At night we would sit on the balcony and have a drink and play lots of scrabble! The beach had great places to snorkel and we saw lots of beautiful fish. We went to the Coral Reef Zoo and we got to swim with their sharks! It was of my highlights of the trip! It was such a relaxing place to visit and everyone is so helpful! We really got use to island time and had a hard time leaving. If all my ideas aren't what you are looking for, there are tons of brochures at the condo full of awesome adventures! So if you are looking for a beautiful, relaxing, warm, friendly island get away, look no more Kirbie has it all! We look forward to coming back real soon! Thanks!

Great vacation, excellent owners Our family of four stayed at Kiribe for a week over Christmas. Clean condo with everything you could need – full kitchen and grill, beach chairs, towels and a cooler, snorkeling gear (convenient not to rent at every location, we took it everywhere with us!) and a nice selection of books, games and movies, which you can supplement with rentals from the office. We genuinely appreciated the thoughtful pamphlet that Steve sent us before our trip because it was our map and guidebook around the island. We rented a car, which allowed us to visit a number of beaches around the island; Secret Harbor ended up being a favorite. Driving on the left side was unusual at first, but it quickly became routine – don’t be intimidated! Kiribe’s proximity to Red Hook was also a benefit when we went for a day trip to St. John, because the marina was a quick five minute drive. Food recommendations were great as well, some of which we would have bypassed if they had not been pointed out - we especially loved Latitude 18 and The Toad and the Tart (Anna, the owner, also directed us to Thirteen, a delicious restaurant on the north side). Steve was especially helpful and responsive when my daughter’s flight was cancelled due to a snowstorm and worked out arrangements for her to stay for some extra time. Kiribe was an idyllic oasis on St. Thomas and Steve was a very gracious host. Thanks again for opening up your home to our family and making this a wonderful vacation!! Kevin Hour

My husband and I stayed at Kiribe for a week, and could not have asked for a better getaway or place to stay. It is a clean, inviting condo with beautiful decor and furniture that has everything you need for a stress-free, relaxing vacation. It is very close to Red Hook (so convenient for groceries, great restaurants & bars, and the ferry to St. John or the BVI's ; if you don't have a car, watch for the $2 safari "taxis"), is connected to a beautiful pool area and convenient Grapevine Cafe, and is just a short walk to Sapphire Beach which is gorgeous and great for snorkeling (Grapevine delivers to you on the beach!). It is also right off a dock where many snorkeling trips and day sails leave from...what more could you ask for? A few of our favorite amenities were the full kitchen and grill (get meat from Marina Market - yum!), beach towels and snorkeling gear (so nice to not have to rent!), iPod dock and CD/movie supply, 2 full bathrooms, AC that cools the rooms quickly, and the two balconies with amazing views. Steve & Jeanne have a beautiful place, and were extremely helpful with answering questions and supplying us with helpful information beforehand. I would recommend Kiribe to anyone, and if we are lucky enough to return to the USVIs anytime in the near future, we will be sure to go when Kiribe is available! Some recommendations: New Horizon’s all inclusive snorkeling tour (2 snorkeling stops) A day at Coral World & Coki Beach – St. Thomas BVIs: Bubbly pool, White Bay and lunch at Foxy’s Taboo Bushwhackers for happy hour and Seafood Platter at Woody’s – St. John If you're considering a stay at Kiribe - do not hesitate, book it!

We spent 3 nights at the Kirby's condo March 18 - 21. There were 5 of us at this condo, 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 child (9 yrs old). It was very clean, comfortable and roomy. The condo has 2 bathrooms, which is extremely nice to have that second bathroom! Red Hook is close by, less than 1/2 mile away and it is easy to catch a taxi anywhere you want to go from the front of the complex. There is good snorkeling in Sapphire Beach. We rented a captained boat (sunsea charter with captain Alex) and went to BVI, the marina is right there, so it is very easy pick up and drop off for us. The condo also has a bunch of books and movies, we ended up spending every night watching their movies. The owners, Steve and Jeanne, are the best, they were very responsive and and went out of their way to be helpful. We had a great time!

We just returned from a great vacation on St. Thomas. The condo was perfect for two couples! We had our privacy and never felt as though we were ever in each other's way. We enjoyed all the amenities of the condo! It felt like home. We plan to bring our family back and stay there again next winter!

Just got back from Steve's place in St. Thomas. We stayed there for 2 weeks over the Xmas holidays and it was very functional for a family of 4. Great location just outside of Redhook and close to Sapphire beach, which was gorgeous. Steve is really easy to get in contact with as far as all the details of staying there goes and what there is to do once you get there. We were really glad the condo was a 40 minute drive from Charlotte Amalia, because that town is so congested with tourists from the cruise ships. Redhook is close and small, but has everything you need and nothing you don't.

My wife and I and our two grandchildren (ages 12 & 14) enjoyed our stay very much. Very comfortable, clean, well equipped, and great location. Just as described. We feel a rental car is a real necessity (we had one); with it you are five minutes from Red Hook, the ferry boats (to St. John, Tortola, etc), boat charters (American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook). The pool is very nice, nice bar/restaurant right beside it. Food store very near. Two excellent upscale restaurants (the Cellar, the East End Cafe) were reasonable. It was exactly what we were looking for. We take the kids on a trip each year & this rated as one of their very best.(compared to cruises, NY trip, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, etc.) This was my first experience driving on the left & was less of a problem than I thought.

Kiribe was a wonderful base location for us, providing ample room for 4 adults, a place to relax, and all of the little extras made it perfect for us. Sapphire Beach has great snorkeling, we saw green turtles, spotted eagle ray, other rays, squid, barracuda, a sea star, conch, and lots of lovely fish - all from the this amazing little beach. Dive In! at Sapphire Beach is a nice small operation for anyone interested in diving and not driving into Red Hook. Arches & Tunnels was my favorite dive location. Thanks for sharing your slice of St. Thomas with us.

My husband and I and 2 of my girlfriends stayed at the Kiribe Condo last November. We loved the condo. We found the condo to be spacious for the 4 of us. No-one got on anyone’s nerves which was really important. It was wonderful to have the 2 balcony’s. For my husband and I this was our 4th year. We love STT and wanted to bring our friends so the us girls could celebrate the exiting of our 30’s. (my poor husband). Sapphire Village is the perfect location for all there is to do in STT and the views – wow! We find that STT offers the best of all worlds. Island hopping is our favorite. BVI is beautiful. We all journeyed over to STJ for dinner one night which was just lovely. We also do a day trip by car ferry there. We ate a few nights at Duffy’s – can’t beat the prices for food. We ate dinner in a couple of nights with fresh sea food, beef and chicken from Marina Market. We found they have the freshest food in those we mentioned. The best place to get spirits is the Market in TU-TU plaza if you are brave enough to mix in with the locals. Some groceries are cheaper there as well – I don’t recommend getting meat there though stick to Marina Market for that. We did a lot of activities on this trip after all it was a celebration. One of my friends and I went and swam with the sea lions – OMG that was fun! We also parasailed – the first of all of us – it was a blast. Coki Beach has the best prices. We did the Kayak tour as well. The Great House has beautiful tropical flowers and forest. We stumbled on that last year and thought it was worth the trip over. If you can any of the BVI day trips are a Must – we go one a different one each year. Ending up a Jost Van Dyke is a MUST! Nothing compares to the beach there. If we go back with friends we will be sure to book the Kiribe Condo again if they will have us back. ?
