Breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and snow-covered peaks from nearly every room. Wake to sunrise over the lake from the luxurious master bedroom with jacuzzi tub. Watch the moonrise from the huge lakeview deck or from the spacious living area's floor to ceiling windows. Enjoy lunch views from the shaded deck. BBQ dinner on the deck, sip a glass of wine and watch the Alpenglow on the high peaks. Visit the private homeowner's beach, but retreat to high above Tahoe's noisy crowds. Tahoe serenity at its best.
This is a spectacular, custom-designed Tahoe-style home with every modern convenience, not just a cabin. It has a king bed with lake views in the top master suite, a main floor master suite with queen bed, and a 3rd bedroom with a queen bed and forest views. There is also a fold-out queen size sofa-bed in the large loft plus two roll-away beds. From the pine ceilings to the stone fireplace and custom painted tiles, you'll enjoy every detail. If you have to work, the loft has two large desks, a printer and Wi-Fi.
The entire living area has lake views: Living room with floor to ceiling windows, dining area with lake and deck views and kitchen with lake and mountain views. The living room has a Sony flat screen TV with satellite TV and a Blu-ray DVD player.
Just 1 and 1/2 miles from Tahoe City, you'll hardly know anyone else is around. You can see the boats on the lake, but not hear them roar. The 600 foot Tahoe Park homeowner's beach has two piers, volleyball court, horse-shoe pits, playground and reserveable picnic tables. See the Lake Tahoe Park Association website for beach details and pictures: laketahoeparkassociation.
You'll be on the edge of true wilderness. Wild Mountain Quail and Blue Grouse walk through the yard and bring their young. Nearby Paige meadows has some of Tahoe's best displays of alpine flowers in summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. We provide maps to some of our favorite and rarely visited birding and wildflower hikes. The flowers peak in late June and early July, but displays can be found from early May to late September.
The home is near the beginning of a labyrinth of mountain biking trails that lead high into the mountains. The trails range from the easy, nearby, paved Truckee river trail to the famous Flume Trail, probably the most spectacular biking trail in the country, just half an hour away. Bring your own bikes or rent them at the bottom of the hill.
Nearby ski-areas range from famous Squaw Valley to family-style Homewood. Alpine Meadow's little-used back entrance is just a few miles away. Northstar, Diamond Peak, Mt. Rose and Heavenly are all within 45 minutes drive. Squaw even provides cable car trips to hiking and skating all summer.
At the base of the hill are two of Tahoe's best restaurants: Sunnyside and Firesign. Sunnyside has both light fare on the deck and gourmet dinners, while Firesign provides superb breakfasts and lunches. Just down the road is Tahoe House Bakery with Tahoe's best coffee. Many other restaurants are a short drive away.
There is off -street parking for up to 3 cars.

Why the Owner Chose Tahoe Park
We bought this house for the spectacular views, because it's so quiet, and because its so close to the flowers of Paige Meadows.
The Unique Benefits at this House
You can see the lake, but not hear its summer roar.
Owner's Map of Tahoe Park
We love hiking and skiing at Tahoe, but as long as the grand-kids are in Seattle, that's where we'll be every summer.

I just spent a week in September at this fabulous home. It was really beyond all my expectations. It only took about an hour to feel right at home. The wonderful owners did not forget a thing... I was able to cook dinner for 10 with ease in a beautiful kitchen..it was such a pleasure. Coffee on the deck and watching the sun come up was my personal favorite. The listing and picture descriptions were right on . The property is immaculately maintained and so very comfortable. We had fabulous dinners at Sunnysides and great breakfasts at Firesign. All in all it was a dream vacation and we can't wait for next September!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
