Map & Owner's Profile
Why the Owner Chose Blue Ridge
One of the families has family ties to Blue Ridge - we all visited together a few times and decided it was the place for a vacation retreat. It is close to Atlanta, but 100% mountain town, with lots to do for the whole family and especially the kids.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The cabin is very large - enough for several families to enjoy at once - yet very secluded. You can really unplug here, and enjoy time together and in nature. The boys love fishing right out front, exploring the woods, visits to the candy shop in town, tubing down the river. . .we love to go at any time of the year.
Owner's Map of Blue Ridge
We are two families with young children from Atlanta. We bought the cabin together to have a retreat from the city, and enjoy sharing it with others as can only get away occasionally.

The cabin has a great location on the river. We went tubing down the river from the house to Shallowford Bridge. The cabin is located about 8-10 miles from Food Lion, McDonalds & the such. There were many issues with the cabin & we contacted Alexi & Jennifer about those. There were problems with the stove, so a repairman came out to see about it. Hopefully the stove has been fixed. When they tell you that your cell phones will not work...this is true. Please bring a AT&T pre-paid calling card. It will save you a lot of trouble. We could not get any DSL service at this cabin. We could not get any of the DVD players to work. We could not get any satellite service on any of the TV's to work. The ice dispenser in the door of the frig did not work. We bleached all the dishes in the house because we found food on clean dishes in the cabin. We cleaned the frig for an hour because it was dirty. Downstairs: The sliding glass door to the pool table room & extra two bedrooms DID NOT LOCK. My family was not happy about that. They went out into the woods & got a big wood branch from a tree to secure the door from the inside. One of the bedrooms downstairs had a musty smell plus a ceiling fan in that room needs to be replaced as it makes a lot of racket. Mattresses in kids room were not comfortable. It also took 5 weeks before our security deposit was returned to us. I will have the say that the times that I contacted Jennifer she was very nice & sorry for all the issues that we had. This is what took place on our family vacation. This is my honest review. I love VRBO & we have rented from them for many years now. Too bad we had this experience. Hopefully these problems will be taken care of. I thought future renters should know.
Owner response:We're very sorry you had issues with your stay, and want to reassure you that we addressed the issues that were immediately fixable right away, and others shortly after your visit. We replaced the cleaning crew with a new service, and had DirecTV correct the problems with electronic signals. The stove and ice maker were fixed immediately (parts had to be ordered). The de-humidifier had been unplugged by someone in the basement, but once it was running again the musty smell has gone. Again, we apologize - with private homes owned by private parties who live a distance away, we rely on our cleaning and maintenance crews, and unfortunately they were not doing their job and your visit uncovered a lot of those issues that had not come up for previous renters. The best we can do is address them ASAP, which we have done and will continue to do for all future renters.

This home is in an unbelievable setting! There were deer outside in the mornings and we played in the river all day. It was like having a pool in your backyard. Food & water sports (white water rafting, kayaking, etc.) are right down the road. The home is large & with 3 floors so everyone has their own space. ++ Our best family vacation.

We had such a lovely time at River Run. The accommodations were perfect. We thought we would venture to town and do other activities in the area, but we found the setting too perfect and stayed there until it was time to check out. The photos do not capture just how beautiful the house and its surroundings are. The gazebo was such a perfect place to relax by the river, and our young kids (3 and 8)had such fun playing in the water. After an afternoon tubing down the river, the hot tub was a perfect place to relax.

Huge cabin. Beautiful spot on the river. Wadable even for toddlers. Rainbow trout right in front of the cabin. Midway down the Toccoa Valley Campground tubing route. Owner very good to work with.

We stayed at River Run last June for a family reunion and had the very best time! Young and older had so much fun. Good for small kids due to the shallow area of the river right by the bank but river deep enough in the middle for tubing every day! Bring your own tubes and go for it. We will be back in 2008l

Happy New Year! I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time at your cabin in Blue Ridge over the New Year's holiday. Your place is beautiful and so spacious! The pictures you have on the VRBO website do not do the cabin justice! We loved the kitchen and how spacious and open it was to the living area. It made it fun to be cooking dinner for the group while watching football and playing board games at the giant dinning room table! The back porch was a favorite hangout while the weather was warm enough! It was so big and inviting and the view of the river is fantastic! Our group really enjoyed ourselves and we look forward to going back again!

Just returned from a long weekend stay at River Run Cabin in Blue Ridge with friends and family and I have to say it was very difficult to leave. Our children rarely were out of the river, they fished, floated and kayaked. It is the most serene, relaxing place and we loved the rocking chairs and huge deck space. We all agree that we will be returning again, sooner rather than later. Our family has fallen in love with this place.
