I have stayed at the Kihei Akahi several times over the last few years in 1 and 2 bedroom units based on family needs. This year I needed a place just for me, for 3 days at the end of the family visit so I chose this studio unit. As a previous comment mentioned, it is a bit tired and the carpet is definately a problem. No amount of cleaning can rectify the inevitable stains. The kitchen is OK but could stand a reassessment of supplies. The lanai is perfect for one or two people to sit and eat or just enjoy the views in all directions at all times of the day and evening. Akahi has the best location with a great beach just across the street so each person can just head out when they are ready with no waiting to load the car and drive somewhere else. The area and Kihei Road are safe for early morning walking as well as after dinner strolls for icecream or a beverage. And Moose's will put on the Canadian hockey games!

We spent 2 weeks in this unit. 1-10-12 / 1-24-12. This unit has a nice view, but is very tired looking, cleaning the carpet would help.

We have stayed here a number of times and every visit was fantastic. The Kihei area has so many fun things to do and so many conveniences. The location and perspective of this condo is perfect! It is set up with everything you need and always has a delightful breeze flowing through. With the amazing sunsets, great whale watching, and super all around view, you couldn't ask for more!

This condo was the best part of the vacation. Our favorite spot was the lanai. Condo had everything we needed. Great beginners snorkeling at Ulua Beach and the Kam beaches were great! Fred's Mexican Cafe (right next door) has the best enchiladas. Whalers store a short walk and the Foodland a 2 minute drive. Will definitely be back.

When we checked in the manager said "you have the condo with the million dollar view", and did we ever! The balcony was our favorite spot in Maui! We enjoyed watching the outriggers, joggers, and the spectacular sunsets. The location was great...close to shops and restaurants, and across the street from the beach. We look forward to staying here on our next visit to Maui.

Our stay at this condo was wonderful! No surprises, everything is as described. The view from the balcony was amazing, everything so close and a short walk to the beach. Bryan and Suzi are very pleasant and informative. We decided if we come back to Maui, we're saying here for sure!

This condo was completely fantastic! It was even better than the photos suggest, and it was an absolute bargain. The location is very convenient, close to shops, beaches, and has some on-site amenities like a BBQ and pool. The suite itself was very nice and well equipped, it had all the conveniences of home, including the washer and dryer which came in very handy. The owners were very handy and helpful, and easy to work with. There is no internet connection in the apartment itself, but you can get wireless signal there (shakanet), and it's reasonably priced. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone staying in Maui, we really could not have been happier with it. It was an incredible bargain, and we will definitely stay here again if it's available when we go back to Maui.

Fantastic vacation here in June! Great time to visit the island and there is no better place to stay than this condo! No surprises...everything is as described on this site (and better, actually) and in the photos. Excellent location to everything...the best beach is just a few steps away from your door. Restaurants and activites are all close by. Quiet buidling and very well kept grounds. Bryan and Suzi were so warm and friendly to deal with. I will be back and I will stay here again, without a doubt! Mahalo!!

Just wanted to say how great our stay was here in April/May. Have always stayed in a one or two bedroom condo here at the complex but decided to try something different . We loved it so much that we just tried to rebook for next April but were disappointed to find that it is already booked for our time that we want to go. You won't be disappointed!!!

Aloha, If you are a couple looking for a private and affordable piece of Maui, this is it! The views off the lanai on the top floor are direct ocean view. Whales are a jumping, use the binoculars provided. Have a Mai tai and watch the sunset they are the bestright here on the lanai. This unit has all the things you need, including indoor laundry. Ice chest, beach chairs and towels are provided. We have stayed and seen many units here at Kihei Akahi and this is the best studio unit available for two persons. The pool and BBQ facilities are close by. The beach is just a short walk, and close to great restaurants and shopping. You wont be dissapointed, book today for your Maui get away!

In years past I stayed in Lahina in a resort. This trip I wanted to experience Kihei and staying in a condo. This is the ONLY way to go! Then I lucked out finding this studio condo. Only bring your clothes because you will not need anything else. There might be condos with upgrades like granite but they don't have the full ocean view that this little unit had. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the lanai (balcony) as well as the most incredible sunsets. The beach couldn't be closer (right across the street) and the condo has beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, noodles, even a hat and a cooler. They thought of everything! I felt so safe that I left the slider and windows open and was comforted being lulled to sleep hearing the ocean throughout the night. It is so centrally located that next time I won't even rent a car. Just go and enjoy...

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week vacation in Maui (Feb 4 - Feb 17/09). We loved everything about the condo unit, from the privacy of a top floor corner unit, to the feeling of home it afforded! We spent many hours on the lanai taking in the breathtaking sunsets in the evening, to watching the majestic whales in the ocean. In February they were certainly plentiful! Kihei Akahi is very central to both restaurants, shopping and of course the great beaches! Having the beach chairs, boogie boards, and coolers in the unit was awesome! We did not want for anything! We are definitely planning on a future vacation to Maui, and our plans include staying in this unit!

This was the perfect place to stay for our first time in Maui. We stayed at the condo in June 2008. The view was breathtaking and the location was within walking distance to local shops and restaurants. The condo had all the usual amenities as well as everything that you would need for your daily excursions. The condo was safe, quiet and clean and I would recommend it for any couple travelling to Kihei.

We just came back from our stay for a week. We already miss the breathtaking panoramic view of the ocean, West Maui mountains, Lana'i, Molokini, Kaho'olawe, and whales! We will always remember our wonderful time at C-601. Hope to be able to squeeze some time in here next year but already looks like a very popular site.

I stay Aug 9 - 17 2007, the place is really nice. The view is the best I took some great sunset pictures just sitting on the balcony. It was also quite and relaxing to just hang out in the condo. And really all you need to bring is cloths, food and makeup, everything else is there for you. If you find something more you need it is a short walk to an ABC store. The complex and people there are very nice and helpful if you need something. The beach is just the length of the driveway away, with lifeguards,lots of places to eat within walking distance. I am already saving up for my next stay here.

We stayed at this unit from 7/15/07 until 7/23/07. It was fantastic. First the view is amazing. It is a full 180 deg of the ocean and west Maui mtns, from the sixth floor. We have stayed in 9 different places in Maui on our vacation and this was the best. It is a very well kept unit. All of the appliances (TV/washer/dryer,etc) are all top of the line. This unit also had A/C, which is nice in July. We stayed at other places during our trip that did not have A/C, after a while you kind of need it to breakup the humidity at night. The Akahi complex is a nice resort, great beaches right across street, restaurants in walking distance. Overall this place was the best bargain/value of our trip. Plus owners are also very nice and gave us excellent recommendations on restaurants.
