Here is what a recent customer said about this cabin - "Bob and Sybille - We so enjoyed your home in Packwood - hate to leave tomorrow a.m. Love how you paid attention to every detail! Really appreciated the directions for operating things and labels on light switches, etc. It felt like home away from home. We had lovely weather - Mt. Ranier 3 days and Mt. St. Helen's 1 day. Thanks so much. Have a great winter season. Maybe our paths will cross again someday in the future."

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
About 15 years ago we discovered the Packwood area and realized this was still an undiscovered gem in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. We knew we needed a place to get away with our family if we were to survive in this crazy world. We bought a piece of property and a few years later built this paradise!
Why the Owner Chose Packwood
Packwood is a real cute small Northwest town at the base of Mt Rainier National Park and White Pass Ski Resort. This is an outdoors person's paradise..the hiking, rivers, lakes, vistas are amazing. The wildlife is inspiring. In winter we love to ski White Pass. This is a great area for beginners and has some great intermediate and expert runs. White Pass is also doubling in acreage and installing 2 new chair lifts and a mid mountain lodge. I have skied all over the world and there is no place like White Pass...we love it!
The Unique Benefits of this Chalet
We live in Oregon and frequent Mt Hood Timberline Ski Area. We love the Timberline Lodge and the combination of wood and metal. We decided to build a rustic northwest style lodge with timber and log accents in the Northwest tradition yet with all the comforts of home. You will love this home, this setting and all the amenities that come with it. Open the door and be in awe with the decor and quality of craftsmanship and furnishings!

We stayed at the Timberline Meadows Chalet over New Years and had a great time! The Chalet is well appointed and roomy. The place was clean, comfortable and we had a great time! It snowed 15 inches at White Pass the day after we arrived so snowboarding the following day was ideal! Thanks for sharing your vacation home with our families!

What a wonderful way to end the day exploring Mt. Ranier and Mt. St. Helen's. This 3-bedroom, hand crafted home will feel like your home away from home after just one night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This home is centrally located for easy exploration of Mt. St. Helen's and Mt. Ranier. Driving time was about the same for both. We explored both Sunrise and Paradise in Mt. Ranier, and Windy Ridge in Mt. St. Helen's. The drive to Johnston Ridge (Mt. St. Helen's) seemed a bit far so we ended up spending 3 days in Mt. Ranier and 1 in Mt. St. Helen's which worked out just fine. As we drove to our daily destinations, we were constantly reminded of what a nice "home base" we had. The hot tub was the icing on the cake! The owners have done a nice job providing everything you'll need - from dishes to laundry detergent, to make sure you'll have a wonderful, relaxing vacation. Highly recommend this chalet.

This is the 4th time we stayed at this cabin and we feel like we cannot get enough of it. The positioning is just perfect being between Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helen. To reach Ohanapecosh is less than 30 minutes drive. Also you can drive over the White Pass to get to the Yakima area. We loved the hot tub and we soaked there every day after hitting the trails in Sunrise, Paradise and Ohanapecosh. The kids also had a blast, running around the cabin, eating out on the porch and playing in the hot tub. We whole heartly recommend the cabin and we'll surely go back when we'll have the chance. Thanks to the owners for making this place available for others to enjoy, Ionut
Owner response:Thanks Ionut and family. We love it when you love it! it is our pleasure to serve you and can't wait till you come back! Bob and Sybille

My elderly parents came out for a visit from the East Coast & my hubby, and I wanted a place to vacation off the beaten path in the Cascades, so we chose the Timberline. Our stay was everything we hoped it would be and more! The kitchen has awsome workspace, and we were all very impressed with the hand-picked rustic decor. I was very impressed with the high quality of appliances (Kenmore, etc) and the attention to little details such as a small library of books & movies. Our 4 year-old just LOVED the natural spring that runs just steps from the back door and the subtle sound of the running water is sooo soothing. But I have to say that our favorite part was the overall relaxing atmosphere that left us all feeling recharged. Oh, and the hot tub is pretty awsome too!

Hi Bob & Sybille, I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful stay in your Timberland Meadows Chalet June 1-3. We vacationed in Oregon & Washington for 2 weeks and the Chalet was absolutely the best place we stayed at! We felt comfortable right away and we were delighted with all the home like touches. Although the weather didn’t cooperate, we had a great time spending an entire day indoors playing games, watching movies and just enjoying the wonderful space. We did get a chance to hike around Mt. Rainier the next day as the weather turned beautiful! It was truly a great place to stay and convenient to all that we wanted to do. We only wished we could’ve stayed longer! Thank you for offering this beautiful place to enjoy! Patti

When we walked into the Packwood Great Northwest Cabin, it felt like we entered a new world. With the lofty ceilings and bright and cheery atmoshpere, it seemed as if we were thousands of miles away. Having three small children with us it was perfect. They enjoyed exploring the unique charecteristics of each room. Not to mention the hot tub which was perfect after a day of snowshoeing and sledding. And was it afordable. With the economy where it is..these cabins are a must visit. You can stay local and not spend outrageous amounts of money. There are so many outdoor activities at our fingertips in this beautiful state of ours. One last thing...there were deer grazing in the yard in the morning..what a peaceful scene.
