We began to rent the house when my work took me out of state. I am a fine artist and animator by profession, who two Emmy Awards to my credit. My wife is a film producer. The house and neighborhood is very child friendly, and is partial to creative types, i.e.: artists, writers, musicians, etc. House was once the home of Ring Lardner Jr. screenwriter for "Woman of the Year" and "M*A*S*H* (the film).
I originally bought the home for myself to live in. My wife and I have raised 5 children there. It was a great central location. Close to all the studios, and I didn't have to spend half my day in LA traffic.
The location is incredible. We have walked down to the Kodak Theater with our baby in a stroller to observe the red carpet festivities at the Oscars. We have walked over to the Hollywood Bowl to see the Who, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, and John Fogerty, as well as the L.A. Philharmonic. The house is in the heart of the real working Hollywood, but just out of reach of the tourist traps. We love it. We have rented to several known screenwriters, musicians, and Grammy nominees. Many return again.
