We just returned from a week at this home. As you drive up to the Wynham Resorts entrance, you see a beautiful home from the road-this is it!! Despite being in a resort, it feels very private. There's no other homes/rental very close so you don't really hear the neighbors. The huge front porch was wonderful for watching the water birds over the pond & watching the shrip boats go in & out. It was about 15 minutes' walk to the nearest beach access (using the bike path). There's a little shack that sells freshly caught shrimp & crab accross the golf course/road in front of the house-delicious! We ate most meals in except pizza at Buck's. The kitchen really is well equiped. The only difficult thing is that to get to the house by car, you wind through the whole resort even though it's right by the enterance. The WiFi was great-our family brought 3 laptops & often had them all going at once. When we arrived the router was unpluged & in the closet of the bedroom w/ twin beds. After we discovered that & pluged it in, the internet access was great. We even streamed video from Netflix. Ediso is a really nice quiet beach community. If you like a "dynamic" downtown, this isn't the place. But if you want to feel like a visitor instead of a tourist, check it out!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Everything that's said is pretty much spot on - just three thoughts --- first of all I'm embarrased to say that we sometimes have 2 or 3 laptops going on the WI-FI as well. It's supposed to be a vacation folks! second - glad you found the wireless router --- we love our guests but sometimes things get put away in the funniest places. Other than your experience, we haven't had many problems with WI-FI. last - the drive through the resort does take a few minutes. Wish we could cut across the lawn but I KNOW that the golf course would just hate that. Imagine doing it at 1AM, in a thunderstorm, and when you really don't know where you are going. That was us the first time we stayed at the house in 2007. Mapquest or Google maps has gotten a lot better since then.

New for 2011 - We have replaced the couch (sleeper queen), loveseat and chair in the main room. The old ones were getting a little ragged and have found a new home through Habitat for Humanity. We also have replaced the old vertical blinds on the inland (kitchen) side of the house with new drapes which should help keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Hope you enjoy the changes - new pictures will be up as soon as we make it down to the house in May.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Clean and comfortable - enjoyed the stay so much! Especially the front porch - sitting in the rockers or swing and watching the golfers. . . Owner very nice and answered any questions very promptly. Would definitely rent again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

My wife and I have stayed twice and loved it both times. Very close to island restaurants - both family friendly and night life varieties. Resort pools are just around the corner, as is the clubhouse for the island golf course. It's a great place to stay for those looking to unwind and enjoy the island life.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: Lynn and I have been enjoying Edisto Beach for 7 years now and hope you will too. It's becoming where our family - spread-out over 3 states and 2 countries - meets.
Why the Owner Chose Edisto Beach:
Edisto Beach is a very special place. Many places where we have vacationed just aren't relaxing - they are one strip mall after another and one traffic jam after another. Edisto Beach isn't like that - when you drive in from Charleston airport you shed the stress and tensions of normal life with every creek and marsh you drive over and pass. And then you get there and enjoy the island. Edisto Beach is about relaxing family vacations. period.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Unique benefits - well we love the view from the front porch - you can see for miles into the marshes, across to the marina area on Docksite Road, and the golf course. That view is special. And you are only 5 minutes from the beach. 10 minutes to the state park and 15 minutes to Botany Bay.
