Definitivamente vamos a regresar!

Our family (9 members) spent 2 weeks during Christmas and New Years (2012). We had a wonderful family vacation. Wayne and Marcy did absolutely everything to ensure we had the best vacation ever and....we did!! The pictures viewing the property are exactly what you see while at the villa! It is breathtaking and we are so thankful Wayne and Marcy shared their piece of paradise with us! We loved every second of the 14 days we stayed...wished we could have spent one more week! Looking forward to returning soon!! Thank you so much!!

Villa Sol y Mar is better than you can imagine or any picture could show you. If you are looking for the BEST OF THE BEST in Huatulco or the world over, look no farther! We have found our "home away from home" in Huatulco. To be honest we can't think of one thing they could change or improve upon to make it better. The Villa is beautiful, has great hosts and a fantastic staff. It is perfect! Here at Villa Sol y Mar the accommodations and amenities are all top of the line. Your time spent here will be just what YOU want it to be... you can be as active as you want to just relax by the pool or on your private balcony...the scenery, ocean breezes and the sound of the waves will soothe your senses. Clean, spacious, rooms each with a great view of the ocean. The infinity pool is beyond words... perfect temp and what a view!!! We really enjoyed the owners Macy and Wayne.. They are gracious, warm and informative hosts. LOOK at the pictures on line, they are not edited shots of the Villa they tell the real story. PLEASE don't hesitate to make this your next destination. Villa Sol y Mar is a shining diamond in Huatulco. Stayed with my husband. Great for couples, business, family, friends or solo. Room Tip: All the rooms are great! Our room was #2 (on second floor). Our friend had room #1 on main level. Both were great and it just depends what you want. Every room is beautiful and each has an ocean view. All rooms have overhead fans and AC. But who needs the ac when you have the ocean breeze?

we stayed at the villa for 8 nites & ea. day & nite was excellent. the accomidations were all that we hoped 4 & more. our suite was very clean & appealing. we were located on the bottom adjoining the infinity pool. the nite & daytime breezes kept us cool (no need 4 a/c) & the pool was the best i've ever been in. the kitchen was very handy for making meals/snacks. the whole area was very friendly, clean & enjoyable. lacruciecieta(?) provided an enjoyable place to experience meals, markets & the local flavor. we rented a car 4 1 day & drove to mazunte & zipolete (beach towns). was a very pleasant experience. wayne & marcy are very gracious hosts & we totally appreciate them opening their villa to us for us to experience such a relaxing, vacation. would return in a heart beat & wish we would have stayed at least 4 nites longer as we returned to snow in n. mich. on april 16th. GO & ENJOY..

This was our first time staying at a private villa and would highly recommend Villa Sol y Mar. Villa Sol y Mar is located in a private residential neighborhood, a short taxi ride to restaurants, shopping and beaches. Villa Sol y Mar overlooks Tangolunda Bay and every night we would watch a beautiful sunset. The outdoor living area is large and comfortable, as are the suites, each with their own patio or balcony with ocean views. A delicious breakfast served each morning was just what we needed to get ready for a busy day. After spending the day at a beach or shopping we would return to enjoy the sunset from the beautiful swimming pool. No fighting for a lounge chair around this pool! Our hosts, Marcy and Wayne made us feel right at home and were very informative regarding restaurants and tours. Our stay at Villa Sol y Mar was more than I could have anticipated and we look forward to staying there again. Thank you Marcy and Wayne for making our stay so enjoyable.

We just returned from our 2nd stay at Villa Sol y Mar. I can't say enough nice things about the villa or our hosts. Villa Sol y Mar offers the best if both worlds- the luxury you would expect at a 5 star resort and all the personal touches of a boutique hotel. All at an affordable pricetag and without the usual nonsense you have to deal with at most resorts. Our most recent stay coincided with a visit from members of Wayne and Marcy's family. This might have been awkward but instead they went out of their way to treat us like family. But of course we also had the freedom to come and go as we pleased and do our own thing. The villa is in a fabulous location, with stunning views. Away from the noise and activity, but just a short taxi ride from virtually everything. Huatulco is a beautiful location, and staying at a place like Villa Sol y Mar just enhances the whole experience. Wayne, Marcy as well as ther staff and family were excellent and very generous hosts. They're great about offering suggestions for different places to go and things to see. I highly recommend Villa Sol y Mar. It is a great alternative to the more traditional resorts.

The setting and house itself are beautiful, exceeded only by the friendliness and graciousness of the staff. We were worried that it would be too hot because of the time of year, (May), but were pleased to find an ocean breeze every day that kept things cool and comfortable. Would recommend Villa Sol y Mar without hesitation.

This is a beautiful villa to stay at if you are visiting the area. Villa Sol Y Mar is very clean and is well maintained. Beautiful pool where you can watch the sunset, gorgeous flowers, and a fantastic view of the ocean! It is very relaxing to sit down by the pool or on your veranda and listen to the ocean. Wayne and Marcy are very helpful with anything you might need....they are a great source of information on everything local. I would definitely recommend this as your place to stay!

This was my first visit to Huatulco and stay at Villa Sol y Mar. Requiring a much needed break from reality I questioned visiting a new place verses going somewhere where I knew my soul would be soothed. Huatulco and Villa Sol y Mar exceeded my expectations and delivered on every desire.Marcy and Wayne are the gracious hosts at Vill Sol y Mar and inform on all the do's and dont's of the land. The view from their bed & breakfast is s p e c t a c u lar and there is just something special about sharing breakfast & stories in a circle on an outdoor patio in perfect weather with folks from all over the world.I highly recommend visiting the waterfall!! (the staff will help you set it up)There is no question I will return!

My wife Anita and I spent the last two weeks of January 2010 with Wayne and Marci at Villa Sol y Mar. To say we had a wonderful time would be faint praise indeed! Wayne and Marci make sure their guests are catered to individually. If you want quiet relaxation, there is a good book by a beautiful pool (the view is fabulous) or an almost unpopulated beach not three minutes away. If you want adventure, there are boating, fishing and snorkeling opportunities galore and the Overby's make sure you find the right people to take care of your needs. The neighborhood, Residenciales Conejos, is absolutely gorgeous and within 5 to 10 minutes of three small towns and numerous beaches that are quiet and uncrowded. Taxis cost no more than $2 to 5 to almost anywhere and will take you to excellent restuarants and shopping. Make sure you visit the weaver's in town; their bed spreads, pillow covers and drapes are extremely well made and very affordable. The house and grounds are well maintained by Socorro and Quirino. Breakfast is filling (loved the fresh squeezed orange juice) and enjoyable when the guests and hosts get together for early morning scheduling and small talk. The rooms are spacious and having your own private balcony overlooking one of the most breathtaking views we have every seen is quite a treat. All in all, it was one of the finest experiences we have had while traveling and we will be back ASAP. Keep up the great work Wayne & Marci - Anita Williams & Keith Whealy from Lawrence, Kansas

We have stayed with Wayne and Marcy at there wonderful home twice. We have had the pleasure of enjoying sightseeing, tours, snorkeling guided tours all set up by our host's. If you want a vacation of relaxing there "home" is a wonderful place. If you want adventure just tell them of what type and they will be more than happy to help you achieve your goals. We went on full day tours and half day tours all arranged by them. The rooms are large and very open, spacious and clean. You get the feeling your in your own home not a hotel room. The views are beautiful from your own private deck. I would and have recomended their home to many people. You will have a truly wonderful vacation if you stay with Wayne and Marcy. We enjoyed spending some time in the lap of luxury at Wayne and Marcey’s beautiful bed and breakfast. We stayed for on week at the beginning of April 2009.These two have totally grasped every enchanting detail that mother nature has to offer in this architectural delight they also call their home and your bed and breakfast if you so wisely choose.I do not think there was a disappointment at this wonderful location. The highlights besides the wonderful hosts were many, to name a few: the addictive infinity pool, the finely manicured yard, beautiful rooms., wonderful staff, excellent choices for breakfast, cleanliness etc.Everything is so wonderfully thought out that your stay can be nothing but top notch and unforgettably relaxing. Our Thanks to Wayne and Marcey and their more than entertaining dog “Ace”. Hope to be back again one day.

WOW! We just got back from Huatulco; it was our 3rd visit there, in the same number of years. Instead of an All Inclusive, we chose to spend our two weeks in a B&B in Conejos. We chose Villa Sol y Mar. We are definitely NOT sorry! The owners, Wayne and Marcy, were absolutely awesome. They were the consummate hosts, ready with information about restaurants and places to go whenever asked. Whether over breakfast, or sitting around the pool later in the day, rousing conversations and raucous laughter abounded.I’m not sure how to spell their names, so I won’t try; however, their staff was incredible. Wayne and Marcy are truly blessed with the help they have; they work incredibly hard to make everyone’s stay exceptional, and are willing to help with anything that you need – help with getting a cab, laundry services, etc. The villa, itself, is wonderful; it is luxurious, always clean, and the landscaping is beautiful. Any issues that arose were minimal, yet attended to immediately; their only concern was for the guests’ happiness. We were fortunate to share the villa with other guests that were all a good mix. We had the pleasure of meeting their friend Tim, and his girlfriend Adrianna and her daughter Shari. Tim provided many hours of entertainment (and really awesome chicken!) and regaled us with stories and information about the many places to go and things to do around Huatulco. For a few days, we were the only guests; Wayne and Marcy took us into town on a number of occasions, and even toured us around the area, showing us places we would never otherwise have seen. We even went with Wayne one morning to the beach, to take their dog, Ace, for a run; the sunrise was awesome, and it was a hoot to watch Ace chase the birds! We became good buddies with Ace, who helped us to miss our own dog a little less.Upon leaving, we left feeling almost like family; however, we left as friends, which is even better. We would not hesitate to return to Huatulco, and would certainly return to Villa Sol y Mar. If you are looking for a clean, friendly, quiet place to stay, go see Wayne and Marcy….and Ace.

Liliane and I had a wonderful time at Villa Sol y Mar. Our accommodation was very comfortable as was the congeniality of our hosts and the staff. The view from our balcony and the outdoor living room, dining room and pool is to die for. The location was wonderful and a great place from which to explore the Bahias de Huatulco, whether by a short walk to 2 different beautiful beaches or a an inexpensive taxi ride to town or our favorite beach, Playa La Bocana. We highly recommend Villa Sol y Mar for any one seeking comfort at good value.

VILLA SOL Y MAR AND HUATULCOMy husband and I have been fortunate to visit countless destinations all over the world and wish to share our idyllic two-week vacation at Villa Sol y Mar, Residencial Conejos, Huatulco, Mexico which will surely remain as one of our most enjoyable traveling experiences. If you are looking for relaxation, luxury and privacy, you will find your needs met at this beautiful small “hotel” tucked away from all the large resorts. The view from each of the five suites is absolutely breathtaking, highly regarded as one of the most desired vistas in all of Huatulco. The spacious open-air terrace serves as a gathering place for breakfast, an enclave in which to read and nap, an outdoor setting in which to use wireless internet, and a central hospitality room for new-found friends at cocktail hour to enjoy the spectacular sunsets on center stage. The crystalline infinity pool seems to cascade right over into the boundless Pacific below, and waves crashing on rocks provide a lullaby for a peaceful night’s sleep. A private beach club with pool, cabanas, and dressing rooms is available just within a three minute walk from the Villa, and often we found ourselves the only people there to soak up the beauty of its vistas. One need go no further than this special cove to enjoy beach living. We loved eating al fresco our picnic lunches right on the elegant terrace of Sol y Mar or packing a cooler for the Beach Club. Villa Sol y Mar provides all kitchen privileges along with a large refrigerator for guests to give us all we needed to enjoy the benefits of the beautiful terrace and dining area. Wayne and Marcy continually make every guest feel right at home, and of special note, cooks can be arranged to provide dinners of Oaxacan delicacies including the day's fresh catch. There also are two barbecues available for guest use. We can’t wait to return and will highly recommend to our family and friends this spectacular property run by owners who go to great care for attention to detail. Kudos and muchas gracias, Wayne and Marcy

Marcy and Wayne have made their home into a little bit of paradise away from the rat race. Our room had the most incredible views for watching the pelicans soar overhead, or end the day with a fantastic sunset. The delicious breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice and belgian waffles. We couldn't have asked for better. A series of virtually deserted beaches is walking distance away, and the beautiful town of Lacrucecita is a very quick cab ride. We would not hesitate to recommend Villa Sol y Mar, and we can't wait to return!

This review is long overdue but so is summer in Manitoba so we're starting to dream about next winter's vacation. We spent a week at Sol Y Mar the first week of February and it was an absolutely perfect week! Everything positive you read in these reviews is completely true. Wayne and Marcy, as well as the people we met there, made it a combination of fun, relaxation, and adventure. Wayne and Marcy have an instinct for when their guests need/want advice or conversation, and when they just want to be left alone. It was a perfect balance for us. In a word FANTASTIC. We stayed at the villa just before Thanksgiving and everything was great, from the instant we got there to the time we had to leave. Wayne and Marcy the owners are perfect hosts, and ACE the B & B mascot was always there with a friendly wag of his tail. Rooms are always clean the breakfasts are wonderful and the scenery from rooms is unparrelled. Wayne showed us beach that was within a 10 min. walk that went for over a mile, not a sole there we had it entirely to ourselves. The kichen is available to the guests so we bought fresh fish and vegetables from the local market and had wonderful means and watched the sunsets. I would highly recommend Sol Y mar to anyone who wants a wonderful peaceful vacation spot run by great people. Herb - Chicago 2008

My husband and I were delighted when we arrived at our accommodation, Villa Sol Y Mar, in Hualtulco. We’d booked online – looking for a quiet accommodation away from the large resorts…a place to spend our 20th Anniversary. We were warmly welcomed by Wayne and Marcy Overby, owners and our hosts for the week. Being dog lovers, we were delighted to see that Ace, the Brittany spaniel, was also part of our household! As Marcy showed us to our rooms, our eyes were drawn to the chrystalline infinity pool overlooking the warm surf of Tangolunda Bay. Comfy lounge chairs beckoned from beneath the shade of the curved balconies above. Each villa's balcony overlooks the pool and bay.The outdoor living/dining area comfortably seats 10 and each morning we sat watching the surf and sail boats while enjoying warm Belgian waffles, fresh fruits, cereals and yogurt. Delish!Sol Y Mar's chef and housekeeper, Socorro has perfected the Belgian waffle...and she's fun to practice your Spanish with, too! The household is immaculate, rooms, bedding and towels fresh and clean. Corrino takes great pride in maintaining the stunning infinity pool and manicured grounds. He's also the one responsible for the fresh squeezed orange juice on your breakfast table! The kitchen is available for use by guests anytime. The two couples who arrived partway through our week took full advantage, BBQing and preparing a few meals 'at home'. If you're so inclined, guests can also hire a chef for their entire stay. The five rooms are bright, airy and fresh with balconies reaching out to the ocean view and beyond. Each room is equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fan while the large, sliding door onto the balcony lets the cool evening breezes blow through. Our oversized room had 2 queen-sized beds and large ensuite. We let the shower run for a couple of minutes before getting hot water and had more than enough. All the water is purified so there's not a worry about drinking or brushing teeth with tap water.Tim, the Villa's self-appointed concierge, is a delight! He'll find a way for you to do anything you'd like -buy whatever you'd like or escort you around the area by scooter to places rarely seen by tourists. He's a hoot!We had great fun at Sol Y Mar and found that we had to drag ourselves away to do other things! The Overby's are gracious hosts who enjoy opening their spectacular home to visitors. We were encouraged to use the entire villa as our home

A quick 40 peso taxi ride took us almost anywhere we wanted to go from Sol Y Mar and, although not on the beach, Sol Y Mar is only a 5 minute walk away from the sand. With everything going for it, we can't imagine anyone staying elsewhere when a guest room at Sol Y Mar is available. First class people, service and location. Highly recommended - even to our friends! Thanks for the great memories.

Our honeymoon stay at Villa Sol y Mar was just magnificent. It was a beautiful setting. The facilities at the home were clean, beautiful and impressive. The staff well was just friendly and very helpful. Our favorite part was having access to a private beach. We were so glad we did decide to go despite our concerns about the weather. We were concern at first because of the internet weather report regarding rain. However, the reports were wrong and the weather was perfect. Not to hot not too much rain, It did rain but only in the late afternoons and only for a short while. We will never forget this wonderful place and hope to return to celebrate on of our anniversaries. Thank you. Sincerely Irma & Victor

We stayed a Villa Sol y Mar for 6 days during the last week of May 2008. We particularly enjoyed the semi-private setting, the great ocean view, the large and crystal clear pool, and the nice wireless internet service. While the Villa is an inexpensive taxi drive to nearby La Crucecita or Santa Cruz, one really might spend your entire vacation at Sol y Mar if you plan your food shopping carefully. Please check out Trip Advisor for a more detailed review and photos.

It's hard to say what was the best part of our vacation in paradise... the fabulous food the cooks prepared for us during our stay at Villa del Sol Y Mar, the sound of the ocean when we went to sleep and woke up every morning, the magnificent view from the open air living room, the refreshing pool, or the owners, Wayne and Marcie, who were absolutely delightful hosts. The trip was made even more pleasurable by Tim, a friend of the owners, who entertained us to no end and showed us parts of the area that we would have never ventured to on our own. Thank you for one of the best vacations ever. We will definitely be back!

Ken and I had a wonderful 2 week holiday at your villa. It was more than we expected. The view was spectacular, the rooms clean and very comfortable, breakfast was healthy and refreshing, and your company was the icing for sure. Thanks for your knowledge of the surrounding areas, your "to do" list of must see's and your guided trip up the mountain for the best coffee and sightseeing tour ever. Ken especially enjoyed the 6AM walks on the beaches with Wayne and Ace, while I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the pool and villa. It was one of our best holidays yet, and hope to return for another relaxing stay in the next few years. You are both wonderful hosts. Rikki Harrison PS Hi Tim !!!

Gary and I stayed at Villa Sol y Mar in mid-February. The villa is beautiful; the location is not only very convenient but it has the best view in the area. Wayne and Marcy are excellent hosts. Being able to totally relax in such a gorgeous environment was a gift. And in addition, Wayne directed me to the best massage in town!

Hi Wayne & Marcy, Well we made it back. Just a quick note to let you know what a great time we had with you folks. The villa was all we hoped for & more & you two were the icing on the cake. Pam is not typically fond of repeat visits, Huatulco & the Villa are going to be the exception. Thanks again for the guided trip up the mountain & the fun we all had with you both at the Tipsy (Tim included). Woo Hoo Wyoming Cheers, Lance & Pam PS: No diving in the pool, eh!!

We're not frequent travelers to Mexico, although we have been to Ensenada, San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, Rincon de Guayabitos, San Blas, Puerta Vallarta, Puerto Angel, Mexico & Oaxaca Cities, Ixtapa and Zihuatenjo and without a doubt Huatulco and Vila Sol Y Mar stand out as the most outstanding destination that we have ever been to. I'd recommend to your patrons that they stick to the east side beaches, Bocanas, Conejos and the beach club. These beaches were, more pristine than those closer to Crucecita. The waters were clearer, there were fewer people, and the restaurants were less assuming. It was more of the remote Mexico that we were looking for. The estuary at Bocanas was especially enthralling. It is important that people know where the tides are so that they can get in and out in a timely manner. St. Augustin was equally enjoyable. You deserve special recognition for the sincere concern which you extend to your guests. Your constant attention to their well being and satisfaction is admirable. Your breakfasts of assorted fresh cold wet fruits were luscious and succulent. The granola, toast, sweet breads and yogurt provided plenty of energy for the day's activities. Your staff was diligent, courteous and accommodating. As for the big picture, being there in Huatulco and having the benefit of Villa Sol Y Mar as a base of operation was all in all enlivening and healing. All of my aches and pains vanished. Waking up in paradise, doing a daily morning exercise routine, eating well, swimming throughout the day, reading and resting. It was all the cat's meow!

My stay at the Villa Sol y Mar was truly exceptional! Marcy and Wayne have a beautiful piece of paradise that they have graciously shared with their guests. Their home is a clean, comfortable and serene place to relax, soak up some sun, and enjoy the spectacular view. I looked forward to the sound of ocean waves softly lulling me to sleep every night in my comfortable bed, then waking to fabulous coffee and succulent fruit to begin my day! My hosts were so helpful with recommending fantastic restaurants, deep sea fishing, snorkling, and the best places to shop. Thank you, Marcy and Wayne, for your outstanding hospitality and great company! I will return next year!

The only thing that rivals the beauty and tranquility of Villa Sol y Mar is the daily sunsets over Tangolunda Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed both during our stay.
