We visit the beautiful beaches of 30A every summer but this was our first experience during the winter. We decided to spend our Christmas this year in Seaside and it was perfect. The weather was a bit cool at times but there was plenty to do in Seaside and not as crowded as it is during the summer months which was very nice. Mark's cottage was exactly as described -- very welcoming and perfect for myself, my husband and our 16 year-old daughter who had 3 beds to herself -- what teenager wouldn't love that!! We would definitely stay here again and again!!! Also, due to weather-related travel issues with the airlines, we ended up staying through the New Year and am I glad we did. Seaside has the best fireworks display hands down -- and right on the beach!!! This is definitely a must visit for New Year's Eve!!

We had a great time at the Sandpiper. The kids loved it and it was a close walk to the beach and to the snow cones! We can not wait to go back next year! This house was great!

We had an amazing time staying at Sandpiper. The house was perfect, it had everything that we needed. We had a family of 5 staying there and we were all comfortable. The location to the beach was the best, just a short stroll down the street! We also enjoyed the close proximity to the center of Seaside. Every morning we strolled down the sidewalk to The Great Southern to have breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back again very soon!

The Sandpiper cottage was very comfortable for our family of 5. Our favorite part was the screened porch with swing and the close proximity between the beach- I timed it one day it took 2 minutes to walk to the beach and also close to the playground and pool! We loved it, it was our best family vacation yet- we will definetly return! Seaside is awesome as a whole- you don't have to drive anywhere after you get some groceries! Sandpiper makes it so easy to check in and out- you feel relaxed the moment you arrive! Thank you for a fantastic vacation! I can safely say, I did NOT want to leave!!

The Sandpiper was exactly as advertised, and was in a superior location. Quiet, quaint and very sound, the cottage was spacious and more than comfortable. The entire Seaside area is unique and very appealing to anyone wanting to feel at home on vacation. The folks at Sandpiper Vacation Rentals were fantastic to deal with, always answered when I called and were quick to offer advice and directions. I could not have had a better experience for this trip!

We stayed in Sandpiper during Spring Break this year with our 3 kids - ages 2, 8, and 11. The description of the cottage provided by Mark is accurate and, to our relief, so are the reviews. The cottage had everything we needed and it's location was perfect. It was close enough to the beach that our 2 year old could walk on his own (because he's a "big boy", you know...) and it's proximity to town center was just right for our family - an easy walk but far enough away to avoid the 'tweener' throngs that mobbed the center. Sandpiper is small and cozy, so it truly is a "cottage" However, for our family of 5 it worked very well for a few reasons. (1) It's Seaside in March (70 degrees every day) and no one really cared about staying inside, (2) it's well-thought out design includes two porches, so everyone can get a little space if they need it, and (3) we have a toddler who doesn't need a whole lot of space. A family of 5 with three teenagers might be pushing it, but for younger kids it worked well. The cottage itself had lots (awesome, btw!) of fresh bath towels and quality dishware. The appliances were high quality, and we used the washer and dryer just about every day. The outside shower was preferred by the kids once we discovered it and plenty of beach toys were provided. Unfortunately for us, we didn't look hard enough for the beach toys until after we dropped some coin locally. (Free tip for you: they are stored outside the house, around the back on the side you have no reason to visit except to get the toys!) The key lockbox was very convenient as well - we never worried about losing the key because we simply locked it up every time we left the house. A small thing, but we used it daily. As for the vacation in Seaside, it was the first family vacation we've taken in years that was relaxing enough to call a true 'vacation'. The simple pleasures of playing in the sand and the waves occupied our children for hours every day. The fact that we could walk or ride bikes anywhere we wanted to go made it almost a car-less vacation. Yes, stuff is pricier in Seaside than in your hometown. But you probably didn't come to Seaside because your hometown is on a beautiful beach, built like an early 20th-century village (with hidden pathways through-out), and far enough from the city that you can enjoy a glass of wine under the bright stars before falling asleep to the sound of the surf. Considering the kids were with us too, THAT is a vacation!

This is the first time we rented a house in Seaside. The Sandpiper is hidden in an alley off Savannah Street, and it seems first to be small, but the place is really well thought of, and it was plenty of space for our family (2 adults and 2 children). The kids love their room with bunk bed. The top bunk is slightly close to the ceiling, and someone may feel claustrophobic sleeping up there. We were in Seaside for 30 A songwriters festival and we were so thankful for the cd player in the living room. We played lots of new music that we bought from the record store on the square. One downside is all the sand on the alley and streets on Seaside.. I can only imagine if we have come in the summer and had gone to the beach every day, that we would have sand all over the floor of the house all the time. It is so easy to check in and out, much easier than a hotel!

House was in a super location and a very easy walk to the beach and the town of Seaside. House is very comfortable for a family of four, it has a remarkably large kitchen and bathroom upstairs and a perfect bunk room for the kids. We had a great week and will request this cottage again on future trips.

We loved staying in such a great development and community. The house was great, its screened porch and balcony made even better by the perfect weather. Its location was close to all the action and yet its setting made us feel like the real world was miles away! The three things that kept us from checking "excellent" were (a) the repaving of Savannah Street - which we knew in advance, but the length of the luggage drag was tough; this condition is, however, temporary, and (b) there are NO closets, pretty much a permanent condition. We were in Seaside for dressy events, but there was no place to hang suits, dresses, etc. The drawers, the pegs on the wall, and the coat tree were less than adequate, particulalrly for a house that can sleep 6 people. We know Victorian homes didn't have closets for tax purposes, but this homage to the design of that period doesn't work in 2010, and (c) the house is not at all handicap-accessible. -- As I re-read this, it sounds bad, but we really had a great time. PS The owner was most pleasant to work with.

One often feels a bit vulnerable when reserving a location, via the Internet, so it was wonderful having "Sandpiper" meet and exceed all of our expectations. The design of the house is fantastic and the furnishings very comfortable and inviting. The location is perfect, close to the beach as well as all other amenities in Seaside. I'm a little hesitant to brag on it too much because we will definitely reserve it in the future and I don't want to have to fight for dates!! :)

We were a couple with two adult children attending a wedding weekend in Seaside. Apart from the keys not working and needing a locksmith the next day, the location was ideal! The house would have been perfect for a "younger" family...a bit tight with 4 adults. The property was a bit more run down than appeared on the website (downstairs porch furniture, "yard" furniture). On the really plus side- the mattress n the master bedroom was super comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking essentials ( but we needed to find directions to the Publix).. The town is a mere two blocks away and the beach is across the street.

We had a wonderful time in Seaside and loved the Sandpiper cottage. King size bed was great, kitchen was very nice and the upstairs bathroom just beautiful. Everything was very clean. The location was tops. The beach was even too close to ride a bike. Lots of beach toys for the kids. Nice screened porch with a very romantic porch swing. Had trouble finding a babysitting service, but had very good luck with Nanny Penny. Loved the local restaurants, Publix is within a mile or two and didn't have to leave Seaside for a thing.

The owners were able to address all our questions and gave lots of good suggestions to help us enjoy our stay. Our family of 5 fit well in the space and we are all hoping to return next summer!

Sandpiper is a wondeful cottage. It was perfect for my husband, myself and our three year old. There is plenty of room in the kids bedroom for more than one. It is clean and spacious. King size in master is a real plus in Seaside. The upstairs bathroom is wonderful b/c it is large and bright. The kitchen was nice, although we didn't cook once our entire stay. Also, the washer/dryer is great quality. Beach towels take alot of time to dry in the humidity and this was not a problem at Sandpiper. We have had issues at other cottages. I hope to be staying at Sandpiper again soon.

We loved Sandpiper! Close to the beach, pool, and everything at Seaside. We traveled with 3 small children and it was the perfect size cottage for our family. Beach access with 3 children and tons of toys was so easy from Sandpiper. Helpful Hints- Make reservations for dinner through opentable.com and reserve beach chairs and umbrella from Cabana Man before you go! I will rent this or another cottage from Sandpiper Vacation Rentals again.

Our family of 4 had a great time at Sandpiper Cottage over Christmas Break. It's in a great location sitting just a few steps from the beach, not far at all from the town center, and on the same side of town as the tennis courts. It is a guest cottage, but we had no problem parking just a little ways down the path on Savannah Street in front of the main house. The flat screen TVs were great, and we really enjoyed having the Wireless Internet Connection. One note to future renters - the washer and dryer are in a closet next to the outside shower - it took us a little while to find them.

Sandpiper is the perfect cottage for a small group-short walk to the beach and everything else in Seaside-leave your car parked by the gate. Experience the New Ubanism design. The cottage is very homey and comfortable-did some star watching from the second floor porch while sipping on tea after dinner. Will stay there again soon.

We loved our stay at Sandpiper! It was so close to the beach, yet quiet and tucked away. It met our needs perfectly, we had 2 adults and a 13 month old baby. It took no time at all to walk out to the beach, or head into the town center. We rented bikes during our stay and loved riding through the beautiful streets of Seaside. The kitchen came in handy and we loved the big tub! The beds are so comfy too. Everyone was so friendly and we cannot wait to return to this beautiful town! Thanks so much for making your property available to rent... we would gladly stay there again!

Perfect place for a family vacation! The house is literally 1 minute from the beach and 2 minutes from the Seaside square. The house has great amenities with plenty of room for a family of four. The only thing missing would be a grill for cooking up some great local seafood. Seaside is a great place to relax and forget about the rest of the world. We thought it would be an expensive little town but in fact everything was completely reasonable. Don't miss the Taco Bar or the Great Southern!

The cottage was perfect location and size for our family of four. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay at Seaside was amazing. The Sandpiper cottage was equally amazing. I can't say enough positive things about the location, the cottage, and the community. Our 2 year old had the best time at the beach. The weather wasn't the best at the beginning of our week because of Hurricane Faye. I contacted Mark about paying to stay an additional night, and since the weather was so bad and the cottage wasn't booked...he allowed us to stay for an additional night at no charge. You just don't find that type of hospitality very often. Thanks Mark and Kathleen! We hope to return very soon.
