Fantastic Vacation Home with Stunning Mountain Views

The listing and previous reviews are all accurate - this is an amazing mountain get-a-way with everything you'll need for a wonderful vacation. We rented PML for three weeks and - thanks to the five bedrooms, all with on-suite bathrooms and plentiful entertaining space - were able to host friends and family during our stay. The home is very well-appointed and has a fabulous deck overlooking the Smokey Mountains. The Ingles supermarket is less than 5 minutes away and has everything you'll need (except beer and wine... Cashiers is still a dry town). Another 5 minutes down the road and you'll find a great Farmer's Market with fresh fruit and vegetables and loads of other "foodie" attractions. Above all, John Peace is a wonderful guy and gracious host who made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our extended time away. If you're looking for a place that's conveniently located, clean, quite and the picture of mountain comfort, I highly recommend PML.

This was our second stay at this beautiful mountain home. Very spacious, bright and airy. Beautifully decorated with high quality, comfortable furnishings. Each of the five bedrooms has a private bathroom. Porches have lovely views and comfortable furniture to read, relax, and eat outdoors. Property is nicely landscaped and well-maintained. Home is perfectly located - close to the lake, recreation center, hiking, and grocery store. Owner was very helpful and responded promptly to any questions. Would not hesitate to recommend this home to friends and family. Hope to return again soon!

OMG! This is absolutely the best place to stay in the mountains! We were able to take four other couples with us, so the cost was minimal. Having all King beds with your own bath is unbelievable, and very hard to find. We also loved the fact that it was on three different floors - never felt crowded, always able to "get away" if you needed to. The decks/porches were great - can't wait to book for a summer week or two. There is a great hiking trail, and the shopping in Cashiers and Highlands was great. Wonderful supermarket (Ingles) close by, so you didn't even need to take groceries with you. Found the neatest Karaoke Bar about five minutes from there - think it was Mica's - so there is nightlife if you choose! We just had the best time and will certainly go back! Great for couples or families - you can put the kids upstairs! Thanks so much for providing such a wonderful home. Oh yeah - did I mention that the beds slept great? :)

We all had a GREAT trip! Everyone loved the house….what’s not to like! The pictures do not do it justice! It is beautifully furnished, and the bar downstairs was a big hit, as was the real Christmas tree. The kitchen and bar were both well equipped for all our cooking and entertaining during our stay. There was still snow on the ground when we arrived, but the driveway had been cleared before we got there. Sapphire Valley Resort and Cashiers are just minutes away. There is also an Ingles grocery store close by. This is an all-around great place to stay! Thanks for sharing your house with us. We do hope to visit it again in the future.

Peace Mountain Lodge is much better than advertised. We spent christmas 2010 there and LOVED it. The owner (John) went above and beyond the call of duty by offering to let us stay an extra day after a major snow storm got us stranded at the house. He even contacted a team to clear the snow off the driveway so we could leave. (BTW, the driveway is very steep). We were three families and the house was the perfect size. The views from the decks are amazing. The house is very well appointed and has everything you would need for a perfect vacation. Thanks for a wonderful experience...we'll definitely be back!! The experience surpassed our expectations. The website listing and pictures don't give it justice. I'd recommend this to any of my family and friends. You won't be disappointed.

Wow! What a beautiful place to spend a vacation! We stayed the entire week of Thanksgiving and could not be more pleased. Our entire family, together for Thanksgiving for the first time in years, had a superb time. The house is warm, spacious, comfortable, impeccably clean, and has far more room than we could utilize. The house is secluded and the view is absolutely spectacular! Being those who love the outdoors, we were in the middle of paradise! We enjoyed rock climbing, hiking, rock hunting, and took in a boggling number of waterfalls, all within minutes of the house. At nearby Sapphire Resort, other activities such as snow tubing and a heated pool were available to us as well. Shopping was convenient and the Ingle's grocery store in Cashiers had nearly everything imaginable. We cannot say enough, words cannot do it justice. If you are considering staying at Peace Mountain, stop considering it and do it now! You'll be glad you did. An unbelieveable experience for which we are truly grateful. J & A, may Glod bless you and yours, and thank you for a wonderful vacation!

We just returned from four days and nights at Peace Mountain Lodge. It was everything we had hoped to find and more. The spaciousness of the home, the views from the large decks, the amenities throughout, and the beautiful location all combined to make this the perfect family getaway. The owner called while we were there to be certain everything was going well and to see if there was anything he could do to make the us more comfortable. Very impressive!! The three master suites allowed space and privacy for the three adult couples and the two third floor bedrooms were perfect for the five children with us. We all agree we look forward to our next visit to Peace Mountain Lodge. This home was ideal for our family gathering.

Just a quick note to tell you how much the four of us enjoyed Peace Mountain Lodge. The mountain view was great, the furnishings were top notch and the beds incredibility comfortable. The wireless system worked great (both couples had laptops) and allowed us to keep up with a few important items going on back home (not to mention a few e-mails to some friends to let them know how nice it was to wear a sweater at night). Additionally, the free phone service was very valuable as none of our cell phones provided a reliable voice connection. We have already told several couples how great the lodge is and are trying to clear our calendars’ for a return visit in the fall!

Beautiful large custom home with a spectacular view of distant mountains. No road noise or neighbors, and a couple of miles from the Ingels supermarket in Cashiers, NC and some restaurants. Cashiers is a dry city so 30 minutes to the nearest ABC store. Five bedrooms but one has three bunks for the rug rats, so figure on 4 couples max. Little touristy stuff - the main attractions are the mountains and streams and outdoor recreation. Extremely clean (like immaculate) with firm beds that seem new, and all custom interior decor. Lots of candles. Kitchen has a smooth top stove I wasn't used to but with convention oven, and all the glasses, plates, cutlery, etc. you need. All hardwood floors, two decks, and a hammock. Very upscale neighborhood with a front gate opened by punching in a key code. Easy entrance and exit from the main road. Very steep driveway (like everything else in the mountains) with a turnaround/parking so you don't have to back down. A very large luxurious master bath with gigantic shower and plate glass door with ample room and space for a couple more shower heads. Toilets are low flow and one clogged up while we were visiting - like our low-flow toilets do at home. The nights were cool that our relatives from Michigan liked. There are a couple of fireplaces we didn't bother using. Our stay was for a small family reunion and every bed was filled. Everyone wished we could have stayed a full week. We have rented places in Orlando and Michigan, but this home was definitely the nicest one so far.
Owner response:Yes driveway is steep, but paved. "Welcome to the Mountains". Regarding low flow toilets. Water is very precious in the mountains and eveyone is encouraged to conserve. Proper use of a low flow toilet will not clog up. Thank you very much for your kind words and we appreciate you treating the home so well, taking good care of the place during your stay. We hope you'll come back for more at Peace Mountain Lodge. Happy Travels. I wish we could have met you in person, our housekeeper says you are delightful folks.
