My wife and I just returned from another relaxing vacation. We have stayed at this rental numerous times and we always are looking forward to our next trip down. Rick and Karen are very accommodating and their hospitality makes our trip that much more enjoyable. We also appreciate that they allow us to bring our small dachshund Spanky with us. We couldn't ask for much more than this. We are looking forward to next year.

The heritage and magic that imbues Topsails´s majestic isle is reflected in this warm, cozy and classic beach house. A stones throw from the pristine beach makes this meticulously cared for home a perfect vacation spot. We love the embracing welcome we received from Rick and Deirdre the moment we arrived, and plan on making this our second home whenever we get a chance to get away. We met family here for a week at the end of June. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and close proximity to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked . Beds were comfy. We even slept in late . We loved having family movie night and watching on the big TV. The dogs enjoyed the beach and enclosed yard area. Thank you for having us !

We just returned from a week's stay at 28 Porpoise Place. The house was wonderful and we had a great time with family. You may want to bring extra lawn chairs to use on the balconies, so you don't have to carry chairs up and down. The top balcony is perfect for the evening and the lower deck is shaded for daytime relaxation. The balconies were nice for our two dogs and the grandchildren to play on. The beach is beautiful, uncrowded and very clean. It's a great for small children. A great house for a nice price!

My family and I have had the pleasure of staying here a few times over the past 1.5 years. Every time we go- the house is spotless, the accomodations are exactly as promised, our beloved dog has a large fenced in area to roam while we are at the beach... the views are unobstructed and beautiful... the owners are a joy to converse with and do everything within reason to make our stay just perfect... Tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac where the beaches are never crowded.. This home has become the only place we will stay when we visit friends and family in North Carolina... A ++++++.

We stayed at this spectacular vacation home from Sept 26-Oct 3, 2009. The weather was absolutely fabulous. The ocean water was very warm and there was always a perfect light breeze just to cool you off enough while we laid on the fine white soft beach. Our two dogs were with us, and the house was perfectly situated for them. The back yard is set up for their convenience and locked for safety. The bedrooms were perfect and comfortable for all. Great accomodations all around. We look forward to being able to do it again next year! God Bless.

Our son was returning from Afghanistan so we had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home. The owners were great with us due to the fact the dates kept changing for his return. We also had 2 pups on of which was our sons and they also enjoyed their stay as well. I would highly recommend this place and I will also say if we go back to North Carolina to visit our so again we will definatly stay there again.:)

We just returned from our second stay at the house and we already want to go back! It is such a comfortable place to stay and has all the furnishings you need for a home away from home. As we sat on the deck watching the waves roll in, we almost forgot the house was a second row. The view of the ocean is pretty much unobstructed... such a hidden treasure! Also, we brought our two dogs. The fenced in back yard was convenient and an absolute envy of all the neighboring visitors with pets. We can't wait to return!

My husband and I rented this house for two weeks. Our children and their families joined us when they could. The house was big, spaceous, and very clean. It is located in a very quiet area. The views from the kichen were beautiful. Cooking and cleaning weren't so much of a chore when you can see the ocean while doing it! We rented the week before July 4, 2009 and the week of the 4th. The first week the beach was very quiet, while the second week the beach was more busy but I would not say it was crowded. Even though the house was not "on" the beach, it felt like it was. Our daughter has a dog and brought the dog for a few days. She was amazed that this was a pet friendly place, based on her past experiances. Besides there being dog dishes, there was no other evidence of past animals being there. She wanted me to thank them for allowing pets into their beautiful home. The owners were very accomadating to our needs and very quick to respond to all the questions we had. After the first week we were asked if we needed any supplies for the second week. I thought this was very thoughtful of them. Our security deposit was returned in less than a week from our departure. This is our fifth time renting private homes and by far the best experiance with the least effort on our part. Of course, if we are back in the area we would rent the same house. We would like to thank the owners for their part in making our vacation wonderful and filled with lots of fun memories!

What a wonderful,Clean and spacious house. Everything looked new and worked perfectly. With the different levels in the house, the kids played downstairs and the wife and I were able to have time to ourselves without hearing them play.The views of the ocean were breathtaking and we felt like we were on a caribbean vacation that we once took. The beach was not crowded (It actually seemed like a private beach) and my 2 children had a ball swimming and running. I can't say enough about our vacation except to not only recommend it, but I will also be returning. By the way,for the price it can't be beat. I hope this helped those looking to be wonderfully surprised.

This was a return trip to 28 Porpoise Pl and I will say it again....it won't be our last. A beautiful home, a great location....theres not much more we could ask for. Another trip to Porpoise Place.........not sure how many this makes but each one holds a special place in our heart. The weather was beautiful. The house holds many memories for us. The sounds of the ocean waves with the windows open, the smell of the ocean breeze, the peacefulness of the neighborhood....all make for a great visit. We look forward to our next trip.

We stayed at this house last summer and it was beautiful. We had a wonderful week there and loved being so close to the beach. I especially loved sitting on the top deck at night listening to the waves. During the day we saw many dolphin swim by. We will definitely stay here again!
