Sit on the large back porch, or front porch, and enjoy the scenic views of your own personal river and mountain getaway. From the cottage you can walk down to the river and relax on your private dock, maybe even fish. Bring your boat or other water craft and take advantage of the boat ramp. Or, if the water is not for you then bring your backpack and go hiking, rock climbing, or hunting.
Load up the family and visit downtown Chattanooga which offers such attractions as the Chattanooga Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum, Chattanooga Lookouts, Historic Bluff View Art District,an array of restaurants, and many other attractions, including Riverbend Music Festival. Just a little further is where you will find Ruby Falls, Rock City, and the Incline Railway. All of which are just 20 minutes away!

We decided to stay here with my parents instead of getting a couple of hotel rooms. The kids had a blast playing on the tire swing. It was too cold to swim but I'd love to come back when we could swim and fish too. The big white dog, Tag, was an excellent "host". He came over to play with the kids and our family just fell in love with this big cuddly pal! Plenty of room for us and my parents with the 3 kids in their own room using the roll away. Close enough to all the things we wanted to do in Chattanooga like Downtown, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and Incline Railway. It was so nice to come back and relax together rather than have separate hotel rooms. Thanks for sharing your place with us!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a great stay we had. Everything was great, We enjoyed everything about this property. It has a huge yard and a great back porch. We woke up everymorning and had coffee on the porch while watching the fog rise off the river while squadrons of dragon fly buzzed the back yard. The whole family loved the dock. We spent every evening down there fishing. We grilled burgers and took them down to the dock and ate right on the water, special family time we don't get to do very often. I wish we had thought to bring our bathing suits, swimming in the river would have been a lot of fun. We got to hang out and play games, and got to meet the neighbors dog, we named him "Buddy", a white boxer who was as friendly as could be. He spent a whole afternoon and most of the night with us. We wanted to take him home he was so friendly. One great thing is that although you feel like you are way out in the middle of nowhere it's only about a 15 min drive to the aquarium and 20 min or so to Rock City and Ruby Falls. Can't wait to stay here again, hopfully rent a pontoon for a few days.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented in July when in town for a large extended family reunion. Our rental was by far the best - the view, the location on the river, the large backyard. The views are amazing, the house is charming, clean and comfortable (the photos do not do them justice). We were not familiar with the area at all, and it turned out to be the perfect location for a scenic and easy drive to downtown, hiking, and just relaxing in the house. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

If you are looking for a place to stay that you can slow down and relax - this is it! We came in town for our son's graduation from Tennessee Temple University. We arrived the day of the storms w/tornados. The Lord delivered us safely to our rental. It was exactly as described. Beautiful, clean and cozy. The owners are very helpful and quick to respond to any questions that you might have. We had a wonderful time watching the children play on the tire swing and fish on the dock. Due to the storms, 4 of the 6 days we rented we had no power - along with 95,000 other people. We had our "camping" trip in a cabin. :) I would not trade this vacation for anything. Thank you!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for staying with us. We enjoyed meeting all of you. I am thankful it all worked out that you could have the camping trip you had been planning. Thank you again. Ya'll are great. Be Blessed.

I would recommend this house in a heartbeat. It is located on a beautiful property on the shore of the Tennessee river. It was beautiful to see the fog lifting off from the river early in the morning. Our girls (4 and 8 yrs old) loved playing on the tire swing right near the boat dock and waving to the barges and the Aquarium boat as they passed by. We would love to go back when the weather is warmer to swim in the river. The house is very clean, warm and cozy. We had everything we needed. Chattanooga is just 20 minutes away. It is a great place for a family trip. We had a grand time visiting Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Incline Railway, the Aquarium and the Children's Discovery Center.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed here and you can not go wrong! The house is very clean and well maintained. We stayed with 2 other small family's and had the time of our lives. They have grills available for cooking out right out on the back porch that overlooks the river. Which by the way the view is spectacular. You can also have a bonfire down on the river and jump right off the dock into the river. We set up a tent too. This is an amazing property and is very close to Rock City and The Aquarium. The yacht from the aquarium will pass by a couple of times a day and the people love to wave at you from the boats. You will not want to leave this rental. I cant say enough good things about this rental. We loved it so much that we are going back for a second time.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for staying with us at The Home Place. We appreciate all the kind words but we appreciate all the wonderful families that we have met through our home most of all. Thank you again and we hope to see you again.
